An Ares/FS3 version would set my heart pitter-patter.

RE: Considering Arx? Consider Deepwood!
I don't always process tone well so I wasn't sure if that was supposed to be funny at me or with me. It's still a bit hard to tell.
It's not a secret anymore. Yes, Samantha wasn't born as Samantha Deepwood, she was the daughter of a nameless servant. She was brainwashed as a child to believe she was Samantha Deepwood and when she got older she realized the truth, and the actual bloodline was completely wiped out in a massacre arranged by the Rex'alfar and their agents. She exposed herself because an agent of the Rex'alfar was trying to extort her, and she wanted the Peers to understand how far they would go and the necessity of the Teind. Dawn stripped her title, and then re-ennobled her as Ivy Deepwood. She still goes by Samantha because she's been Samantha for almost all her life, and "Ivy" is strange to her.
I know it sounds awkwardly defensive, but no, Sam doesn't "know deep down she's a fraud". I guess it's not humor I appreciate! C'est la vie.

RE: Recycling characters
I've done it, when I feel like there's more potential for a concept to be explored. It also gives me an idea of what works and what doesn't. There are still characters in my rogue's gallery that I feel bear further exploration, but I'm also pretty adamant about avoiding trying to force square pegs into round holes and putting them on games that would suit them.

RE: Lords and Ladies Game
The thing I like about Arx is that you can do as little or as much as you want. There are lots of external stimuli on Arx that can inspire rp, but like any game, there is a certain degree of "make your own fun". If you don't come up with ideas and implement them, you're going to have to hitch your star onto someone's wagon. But there's a thriving event calendar, multiple societies to join, and plenty of niches that don't feel like they've been overdone.

RE: MU Things I Love
I think my character managed to crack a huge mystery. When explaining to staffer what she was thinking and why, I swear I could feel them practically jumping up and down in their seat while clapping their hands.

RE: Carnival Row
At the end of the day, all anyone wans to do is TS as a pix so they can get their wings to glow when they orgasm.
Obviously.

RE: Good TV
The best hour would be the one where Jessica rolls her eyes and side punches him a la Hulk and Thor.

RE: RL Anger
I love my paternal brothers, I really do, but I lose patients with how, well, stupid they are.
Like the kind of stupid that posts alleged "facts" on FB without checking to see if it's true, and then gets all "everyone's entitled to their opinion" and NO, because "facts" are either true or they're not, they're not something you get to have an opinion about and did you even graduate high school? I love you, but I kind of want to kick you in the head, bro.

RE: MUs That We Would Love To Make (But Won't)
@vixanic Since they're based on books, those could be read. And it could probably be set between the creation of the Fold and the birth of the Sun Summoner?

RE: RL Anger
@admiral Yup. Knee to the groin usually shuts down all questions.
Would that the misogynistic remarks could be responded to with a knee to the groin in my workplace.

I will never not want an Avatar rpg, maybe post-Korra? Apparently an RPG tabletop game is being released and you have your choice of eras to play from.
I don't know if it's sustainable without an overarching plot, but I'm really enamored with Dusk City Outlaws as a system and think a game based on it might be fun.
Also, I have broken down: GRISHAVERSE plz.

RE: RL Anger
@surreality Lady, you know I feel for you, and you know that I completely understand where you're coming from. Toxic people are toxic, and this schmuck is absolutely not your friend. Clearly, they tear you down to make themselves feel better and you should not have to be subjected to it, or be hurt by it - and it is 100% their fault that you have.
PM me if you need an ear.

RE: MUs That We Would Love To Make (But Won't)
Someone in a FB Messenger chat brought up Motherland: Fort Salem as an RP setting, and then I was all "they could totally start in War College" and NO it's not going to be a thing, okay? Even though it could totally work in FS3.

RE: RL Anger
So I made these cute little slips with a pic of my dog on them and a request to donate to the walkathon we're participating in.
Asshole co-worker didn't even wait for me to leave the row before tossing his in the trash.
Fuck you, asshole co-worker.

RE: CoD - Victorian - Penny Dreadful-ish.
What I hazily recall is that staff felt that not enough people were comfortable with the period setting and its conventions. Which was a disappointment for me as I'd made a character who was a challenge to those conventions. (A woman. A Chinese woman. A Chinese woman running a business.) All elements of which became a million times less exciting or interesting as hooks when they game switched to modern era pretty much overnight. I was bummed.

RE: Critters!
I can only afford to give one dog a home, but my local greyhound rescue found 1 year old littermates, boy and girl, who were shipped over from the UAE. I don't have baby fever, I have puppy fever. Their names are Taruh and Talia:
If there's anyone in the Pacific NW interested, give me a poke and I'll get you in touch with the adoption group. I'm pretty sure they're a bonded pair.
