RE: Android client
BlowTorch and Mukluk are the only two I'm aware of. I've used both and slightly prefer Mukluk because when you type in BlowTorch's buffer, you can't see what you're typing until you complete the word.

Get people into my House.
Get the people for the roster positions connected to my vassal Houses.

RE: RL Anger
I overheard a conversation yesterday between two co-workers, a man and a woman, with them both remarking about how the women were "using Weinstein too" for their careers. I very quietly sidled up to the man later and remarked how it didn't matter, and that sexual assault is never okay, and not a bargaining chip.
But in retrospect what also bothers me? Is the fact that it's so easy to miss the point of how this is not in any way shape or form a transaction of equals. Weinstein was one of the most powerful men in Hollywood and it was his job to develop movies, find talent, etc. He choose to utilize that job as a way to get his rocks off at the behest of the women he knew he could take advantage of. I basically want to shove this into the face of all the people spouting that whole "they used him too" party line.

RE: Are there any active sci-fi MU*s these days?
There are at least two Battlestar themed games out there.

RE: World of Darkness -- Alternative Settings
There seemed to be at least one character who seemed capable of doing everything on BitN. Had crazy amounts of all kinds of psychic abilities, enough to make me feel redundant, seemed to get up in every scene and make it focus on her, and seemed incapable of sharing the spotlight or letting other people's more reasonable expertise show.
It's a real shame because I liked the idea of the game a lot, the wiki was beautiful, and I really regretted it when things went sour for me there...which was not a fault of the staff or the way in which the game was executed.
I'd be happy to play my PC from there again if a similar version of the game returns.

RE: RL things I love
I am very into Lularoe, a fact on which I somewhat blame @Auspice. The clothing is pretty, once you try on a particular style you can order as many of it as you like in different colors/patterns and will know for sure how it will fit. There's also no price difference for a size S versus a size 2XL, so you don't get that bullshit where plus size clothes cost more due to having more fabric.
I'm hosting an online sale Nov 21st, if any of the ladies here (or men. or non-binary people) want to check it out, send me a PM. To be clear, I am NOT a salesperson, I am NOT trying to lure anyone into a pyramid scheme, I just want to share the pretty. Buy, don't buy, ask questions, lol at my hilariously bad selfies, whatever you want.

RE: The 100: The Mush
Like @TNP said, it was fun. I have a history of being considered a "difficult" player that I've been trying to change, and they were both kind to me and willing to assist me in that effort. Even when I disagreed with them, they both gave the impression of listening, and took the time to explain themselves. I'd certainly consider playing with them again, though I might consider what kind of support system has been set up prior to playing on a game that they run if it's just the two of them. And yeah, as I've mentioned above, they were kind to me, and kindness goes pretty far for me in general, but doubly so in MUSH experience, where I've literally had occasion where on a game after telling a staffer I was being harrassed, the response was, "what do you want me to do about it?"
This is my first experience with them as storytellers or their established pattern of game-running, but I will say this: I observed some behavior from other players ranging from passive-aggressive to outright hostile toward staff. I saw scene and plot events they'd constructed which having been scheduled for days, get suddenly picked apart by people literally hours before go time. And while I will emphasize NO, I am not dismissing A&O's responsibility or pattern of behavior, I will say if I were them, some of the flak they got from people who seemed more inclined to simply complain about problems rather than offer solutions, I'd probably have opted to bail out and say Fuck This Noise myself.
The bold emphasis mine, because I have the feeling that the first response to this will be to accuse me of being their patsy.

Huh.
Here, I'm thinking to myself: "Maybe when being honest, I should add on 'RELAX, THO'." But then that sounds dickish and self-important/-arrogant.
Jesus, sometimes you just want to pay someone a compliment without it causing stress and drama and hurt feelings. Those are the exact opposites of the wanted outcome.
Seriously. Sometimes you just look pretty and nice people want to pay that compliment because, you know, sharing smiles and happy.
It's more complicated than that, particularly when it comes from a place of low self-esteem. Which you'd think means you'd soak up compliments like a sponge, when actually it means getting compliments stresses you out, like why are all these people lying to me?!

RE: Arx: @clues
I don't hoard clues, but man, but I have so many of them it is very hard to keep track of them all. It doesn't help that I can't group them in some kind of order of subject so I can create a linear narrative to read through.

RE: Good TV
I've made abortive attempts to try this show twice, and it appears that third time is the charm.
If you have an opportunity, take the time to check out Crazy Ex Girlfriend on Netflix and the CW. A dark musical comedy series about a woman who quits her fancy ass law firm job in NYC and moves to a dinky town in CA all because she bumped into her summer camp love and decided to follow him out there. And it just so happens that when occasion merits it, characters on the show burst into unexpectedly into song.
The show has one of the best portrayals of what it means to deal with mental health issues I've ever seen. It's worth investing in if you are someone who is. At one point in the latest season, Rebecca bursts into song over the prospect of having a diagnosis that explains why she is the way she is and I completely, absolutely understand that sudden joy and realization. Or when she's suffering from depression, has made terrible choices, and then sings a Whitney-esque ballad called "You Stupid Bitch" expressing all the thoughts and feelings that involve depression and self-loathing to a tee.
It's also a great show for those of us who might not have mental illness, but want to understand people that do, while still being funny and having catchy tunes. Also, Rebecca Bloom (who plays Rebecca Bunch) is a bit zaftig, she doesn't have the typical tv body, and doesn't try to hide it. You see her in various states of undress, and not just cinched into a body shaper, but at times openly with a bit of belly hanging out which is awesome, as are her absolutely amazing breasts. Seriously, the girl is stacked.
Anyway. Rebecca Bunch is my new spirit animal.

Thanks for the water I ended up spitting all over my monitor.

RE: Forgiveness in Mushing
Forgiveness is hard. There are still people whose choices on MU*s which have caused me harm, and I have not forgiven them, decades after the fact. But I also don't live with those issues at the forefront of my brain, so I only carry it when confronted with the possibility of contact with these people.
Forgiveness does not involve forgetting, and for me, a lot of it depends on the effort the other person has placed in asking for it. I've never, in any circumstances, been able to let it go immediately. It always requires time - sometimes months, while I try to sort out how I feel. But if and when I do forgive, I want it to be genuine, rather than something I've said because I'm expected to.

If self-centered people continue to open and run games, this hobby will eventually die.
People have been predicting the death of MUSHing as a hobby for what, the last ten years or so?
Pretty sure these two aren't going to be the ones who finally take Old Yeller out back and give him mercy.

RE: Spirit Lake - Discussion
So I've revised my concept somewhat; I'm going to do the vet, but she'll be working for the National Park to help with the wildlife. Which doesn't mean people can't come to her for their birdies and doggos and kitties (or goats or horses etc.). She is also has more than a passing interest in cryptozoology so you know, anyone interested in going on adventures to observe or join expeditions to explore for the purpose of learning about/discovering new magical creatures, she's your huckleberry.
Edited to Add: Yes, I know vets generally specialize, but for the purposes of RP hooks I'm snapping my reality suspenders and allotting her a more broad scope of practice.
