Hey man, I've made no secret of having gone through what I have - I'm diagnosed with social anxiety, major depressive disorder, and PTSD. If you don't have the money to seek treatment and any necessary drugs, there are resources online if you google something along the lines of 'free mental health care' and the like, that may be able to provide assistance. I would start there if you don't have good enough (or no) insurance coverage.

I do want to clear up one of your notions, though - you say that this isn't about physical health, but actually, it is. Keep in mind what's going on with you is chemical. It's happening in your brain, which is an organ in your body. And even beyond that, your mental health has an effect on the rest of your body and your ability to self-care.

Basically, to summarize Veronica Mars, a diabetic is not stigmatized for their insulin, you should not be hassled or feel upset about what you need to make yourself well. All that's different is the organ that's malfunctioning.

For anyone interested, 3% on Netflix is a pretty fantastic show. Dystopian scifi that may officially feel like it's been down this road before, but as it goes on there are some twists and turns, and a surprisingly unique, though provoking end pay off that has one questioning what it means to have a productive "worthy" society.

The premise is a divided society in which 97% percent of people live in squallor, while the much envied 3% live in a place called "Off Shore". Every year, all the 20 year olds go through a series of tests called The Process to determine who is worthy of of earning the right to live "Off Shore".

The cast is multi-racial (which I think can be expected of a Brazilian production) and also features a character with a disability who is just as on par as his fellows and is pretty much a main focus character. I will say it's a little heteronormative, but it also doesn't shy away from presenting its wheelchair bound character with an adult narrative. (that's as best as I can phrase it without spoiling).

Fair warning, it's in Portuguese, so subtitles are involved, but it's only 8 episodes and can be binged on a weekend. It's definitely discussion fodder so if anyone wants to get into the thick of it, give me a poke.

I gotta say I think Five Guys is way overrated. Someone was mentioning Checkers earlier though - and Steak n' Shake. That's the stuff. Also? Sonic. Love me some Sonic.

We have a local franchise called Kidd Valley; their burgers are the absolute best.

It is rather excellent. Every time she visits she brings me real Cadbury chocolate and a bucket full of British sass.
