Strictly from anecdotal observation from talking to Guests (so, largely useless! but) the MudConnector is still pretty widely used as a search engine for players just looking for games. It could be better maintained than it is, but I feel like there are more usability and cultural hurdles for new players than there is a real problem with not having a dedicated MU listing.

This is my experience as well, going back to the late 90's. Unfortunately, TMC has not updated since January so am unsure of the future of the site.

Well darn. Just got the news that my state (MD) will be allowing most businesses to reopen (at reduced capacity) as of 5pm tomorrow. Looks like I'm going back to work earlier than I had anticipated!

I have noticed that some of my favorite restaurants are out of some menu items due to 'supply chain problems'. For example, both of the Wendy's restaurants in town have been unable to sell hamburgers for over a week now because they are out of beef patties and claim to not know when they may be getting more. My favorite Mexican restaurant has taken all beef items off the menu. Walmart's meat section has been pretty sparse as well. There's plenty of pork and some chicken, but no beef. I had previouly attributed this to hoarding but now I am wondering if it isn't also 'supply chain' related.

@Kestrel I remove the skins from chickpeas when I am making hummus because the skins ruin the texture. Does that count as peeling beans?

@Cupcake Midsommar was great. Less gory than I expected though.

The stimulus checks are going out. I got mine yesterday.
So if you filed your taxes w/direct deposit this year or last, expect to see it anytime now (if you haven't already).

Just got mine, too so yes, they are definitely being sent out.

Updated to add: I just found out that I was supposed to be logging on to the unemployment site once per week and answering some questions, which is apparently the reason why I have not gotten any $$ from them yet >.<

@Macha It's been three weeks since I filed but I haven't gotten the first cent from them yet. So yeah. Be prepared to wait.

@Auspice While I was in Lowes yesterday buying mulch, a guy tried to push his way past the the line to get in, claiming that "he was tired of waiting". One of the guys he cut in front of took exception and pulled him back out of the store. I thought for a minute that a fight was going to break out but the assistant manager showed up and then, a moment later, a deputy. They served the guy with a notice not to trespass and ordered him off of the premises. Everyone in the line cheered 😛

      Man that's nice to hear.

I get waiting sucks, but it's sort of where we are right now. Do it because it's a civic duty.

My sister was texting the family (-1 shitty brother) group text about how she's down to one roll of TP but too lazy to stand in line.

(Whereas I was able to find a 20 pack of TP and I figure I'm set for months!)

      You're lucky!

I have not been able to find TP anywhere since this all started (for my area, anyway) two weeks ago. Fortunately I was able to uhhhh liberate most of a case of it from work (kidding, the boss actually suggested we help ourselves to the TP and paper towels).

I applied for unemployment in MD two weeks ago today but have yet to hear anything back from them.

I have $237 left in my bank account and am facing the prospect of having to liquidate some of my investments just to get bills paid. If this goes on for more than a couple of months, I honestly don't know what I am going to do.

@Darren It's for the old version, I believe it will take some modding to work on 4.1 from discussions with Ashen.

Huh. I had no idea that there was a new version of Aspace. I'll have to check into it.

I will eventually get ASpace working for the new version of Rhost , so.. it's plausible!

There is already a fully working port of Aspace to Rhost!

Here in the glorious People's Republic of Maryland, you're automatically qualified, the only criteria is that you be out of work due to the epidemic. I just assumed that everyone was doing that.

If my information is correct, people out of work due to the epidemic are immediately eligible for unemployment, so there's that, and your investments should bounce back when this over. It's still going to be a rough couple of weeks though 😕

The Walmart Supercenter where I do most of my grocery shopping, got restocked yesterday and would you believe that they were already sold out of milk, bread, meat, toilet paper and paper towels by the time I got there around 4? So here I am stuck with cans of tuna and chicken and lots of lunch meat, and cannot find a loaf of bread anywhere to make a damned sandwich >.<

Maybe it's time to invest in a bread machine?

I still can't believe that I was on the phone with Sprint for 2 hours and 24 minutes today trying to figure out why my backup phone suddenly stopped being able to send and receive texts >.<

    • RE: Dungeons and Dragons 5e Combat in a Mush

@utahsaint The Battletech games of old used a custom hardcoded module (the source code for which I believe you can still find on Sourceforge) that allowed them to do some crazy things that you can't do with MUSHcode alone. TGG's system was pure softcode, IIRC.

If I was going to do such a system today, I would definitely consider going with Evennia (or even AresMUSH) over MUSH.
