Nah, it isn't the plague. It's cancer. And cancer infected Thrax, and is going to get metastastic unless it gets cut off.

RE: Fading Suns 2017
Whenever Amber would get the stick she'd throw a huge bitchfit and then it'd get automagically fixed for her. There was never a more unbearable player in the game than Amber. While Custodius' antics didn't amount to much, they certainly enabled the shit behavior one would often expect from Amber herself.
Also, her child was by one of the big wig Kurgans himself, so she'd naturally set herself up with them, and threw another fit when Crow's Nest's Kurgan taifa was wiped out by someone with sinister purposes.

@bored This is a good showcase as to why I don't join any games anymore. Everyone has their mental and physical scars, but I don't have to rub salve on them. It's better to just keep busy with reality, as unnerving as it is.
@HelloProject No, that's the only part of your post that I'd agree with, in essence. It was a failing on his part not to credit you for the idea, at the very least. But then you're merely relaying a fact, not posting about your subjective perception of the people who played Star Crusade.
World of difference, see?

RE: Fading Suns 2017
@surreality I'll take passive aggression to be what you wanted to get across, then.

RE: Fading Suns 2017
That's a somewhat underhanded remark. Say what you mean, or don't.

RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
@Three-Eyed-Crow Nevertheless, people should be pointing others to this thread and the other on the down-low, because it helps to be informed.
@buttercup Well, now you've learned, and since you know, you better watch out for him. Don't believe a word he says, OOCly. He's a compulsory liar and someone who needs to compensate his real life with his online presence, so he does the things he does.
Here's hoping that Arx's staff takes this complaint seriously and does something about him.

RE: Fading Suns 2017
@bored Yeah, to be absolutely fair, Paulus could tell a terrific story when he wanted to. He had a good sense of plotline pacing and maybe the control freak in him was actually good in turning out those into an organic progression.
SC was certainly NOT full of monsters, although I argue that I am a monster. Thankfully, I tend not to join any games anymore, so people can rest assured my particular brand of monstrosity doesn't make the rounds anymore.
The word 'toxic' is so overused these days it's not funny. It's a way to move goalposts whenever an idea or an argument gets too uncomfortable for you. Guess what: in the real world, everything can potentially kill you. That includes oxygen. There are certainly bad people around, but to attribute one's shitty experience to anyone else but oneself, well, you know what they say when everybody else is the asshole.

Isn't Max the one we know as Custodius? Well then, your two screens long post could have been avoided by reading the warnings posted.

RE: Fading Suns 2017
' I've been on 100+ games' -- looks like you've never been to Cybersphere or anywhere fun, to be quite honest. Also, that sounds like you're a master of gorilla warfare with 300+ confirmed kills.

RE: Fading Suns 2017
Sociopathy was not in any way unique to the Firan players, although, yes, to thrive in Firan you must have had a modicum of sociopathic behavior or you'd get the stick more often than not. Nevertheless, what killed SC was inconsistency, and the seeming casual abandoning of certain plots.
Does anyone remember the 'chocolate mousse' incident?

RE: Fading Suns 2017
@bored More than likely someone could do away with all the special stuff priests, psi and magic users in general have and make a straight up, super gritty, super bloody space fantasy* game.

RE: Best IC Character Deaths
One time, in a certain SW game, I had a character who was an infamous pirate trying to run his own independent faction from the two bigger ones. Well, he succeeded, to a point. Then he vanished (because at that point I had wanted to play a different concept for a little bit) -- only to resurface a couple rerolls later, this time at the head of a nascent, and increasingly better faction under his helm.
He took over the planet of one of his old rivals, killed said rival, and had his armies ransack and occupy the planet. Then one of the feature characters came and they had a fight - to the death. Obviously, my character died, but it was a great and memorable death to who had been a man tenacious enough to bomb Coruscant and blockade it several months later.

RE: CyberSphere Recruitment Drive
@Issac If I ever play CS again it'll be the sociopath concept I wrote a year ago. I actually reused it on a different game with an amalgam of stories with yet another character of mine, but I never did get to do the whole mile with it. At any rate, I'm too busy now to even consider playing a time intensive MOO. And anything that has you pay weekly rent is time intensive for me.

He was answering a question I had, @surreality. You can call me classless in this one, I don't care as much. But still.
edit: just a minor correction

RE: Strange Game Dev Inquiries from surreality (condensed)
@bored Yeah, I don't even know you had a site to begin with. I've been insanely busy and I'm mostly out of sorts with all things MUSH related; this is like a brief visit to something that's just not meaningful to me anymore.
DM me with the link and I'll definitely check it out, though.
As for that thesis, that is funny. You've always been a pretty hard critic of everything.

@Ghost Which friend's 7S game?
I'm always years late to the party when the fun stuff happens around here.

RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
Since someone prodded me so I do a charity work here, this is your community alert:
Custodius plays at Arx.
Here's his char.

You're welcome. -
RE: Historical Mu* - Looking for interested Staff
@sthanheykel Have you read Lions of al-Rassan? The conflict is there. It's not bland at all. That's the 'alt-earth' setting we're talking about.
@lordbelh I agree with that on principle, but my interest in seeing a Lions of al-Rassan game supercedes that a bit.
