As an update to the 'banned from AgainstHateSubreddits' drama, I just found out that the mods for that sub are predominantly Satanists, religiously. And I don't mean modern Satanists who believe in self improvement and reliance, I mean they lean heavily into the iconography of Hail Satan and upside down crosses like edgy edgelords. Which explains a lot. I no longer feel like it was a matter of 'me not being a leftist', it was a more a matter of them being unbalanced, biased individuals.

All is right with the world.

@Ganymede It's super streamlined. Go to 'Workshop' on steam. Search for the 'Prepare Carefully' mod. Subscribe. Then run Rimworld. Click the mod button and enable it on the list.

Back in the alphas, before it came to steam, now those were the bad old days of modding.

@Ganymede Are you playing with mods? There's a ton of great quality of life mods that make the game more streamlined. And there's further mods that can decrease the difficulty of the game if you feel it is too much. I'd highly suggest the 'Prepare Carefully' mod, as it lets you finetune your characters much easier. You can manually set their skills/traits/ages/appearance.

There is such a thing as too far left, I found out today. I got banned from r/AgainstHateSubreddits for suggesting that all catholics aren't hatemongers. Not fighting. Not screaming. Just not moving lock-step with folks on the very, very fringe of the left. Those folks are... everything the right accuses them of. They've gone off the deep end. Witch hunts. Which is ironic, I know. Considering catholics are their target now.

So there is such a thing as too much 'SJWing' and 'White Knighting'.

@TNP I don't consider the Catholic Church a hategroup. But that's just me.

That feeling when you wonder if you aren't as left-wing as you thought because you're getting shit from people for suggesting that people should be allowed to be Catholics or other Christian faiths when everyone says 'NO THEY ARE HATE GROUPS'.

@Seamus I am in charge of activating/deactivating employee access for my building. I have seen so many people get removed during the shutdown. A third of the workforce just about. My sympathies. I hate it every time they bring me another list of names to delete.

I got to meet my new boss today. I probed him gently, in the hopes of finding out more about him.

He's a doomsday prepper who called COVID-19 the 'Sissy flu'.

So now I'm actively job hunting again.

My landlord told us if we want to pay late he understands. He also said if we need any sort of supplies he will spare what he can. We complained about our shower and he fixed it better than new. We had issues with the dishwasher and he gave us a brand new one. I really, really like my landlord.

I come into work today to find there's construction workers working in the building. Touching things. Ignoring social distancing. 'Construction is considered essential' their boss says. Motherfuckers are -installing countertops in an unused office space-. Same for the assholes at WeWork. They stay open and there's random dudebros touching all the doors, ignoring distancing and going all over the place.

I am legit just not patrolling the building today. Fuck that. Gonna stay here. And sanitize.

So, I've been having fun over on City of Hope lately. With the quarantine nonsense going on I've had a lot of extra time for RP (who am I kidding? I hardly go out anyways) so I dove in head-first over there and made a Camarilla Brujah.

I'd love to see more Camarilla in general. Brujah specifically. I want to start dipping my toes into running PrPs and hunt scenes for folks, and doing it for folks in the same clan is a great place for me to start.

I know a lot of you have had negative encounters over there, but my idea is that if we clump together like a fungus we can maximize our fun while minimizing exposure to any of the badness that may be lingering in the shadows. For what it's worth, I've found staff responsive and players downright friendly for the most part this time around. (When I tried the game years ago it was a dumpster fire. Straight up.)

If anyone in the Austin area without access to work/car/supplies needs assistance, I'll gladly help. I am... on a rather small income myself and have some expenses coming up, but my head is pretty firmly above water and it's looking like I will be fine for a while so...

If you need it I will gladly pick you up, take you grocery shopping for the essentials, help pay if needed, and drop you off back at home. As long as it is on my day off (Wed/Thurs/Friday) and you don't expect me to buy a bunch of expensive stuff. I'm not loaded.

Edit: I forgot to add; if you/your household are high risk I don't mind just taking a grocery list and doing it solo. No promises I'll be able to get everything though.

A coworker just ignored me. Called my supervisor to ask them a question I knew the answer to but the supervisor did not.

Wakes up supervisor. Supervisor tells them to ask me. They get huffy and just do their own thing.
