I'm trying to keep relatively spoiler-free in my reviews of it, for those who haven't played it yet (and there are a lot these days!) but as someone for whom the original was a formative media experience... get it.

+1 all of that.

Also, they took the time to expand things in just, all the best ways. If you enjoyed the original, the remake will make you fall in love with it all over again.

My only complaint so far is a very minor bug in that early section (in the original game, in this one it is easily 40 hours in...) where you are spying on Those People from Those Vents (fans, you already know). The option to back out seems to not work on the other grates.

Don't be. Seriously. So far it's been almost completely faithful to the original, and expanded on all the things in between where fans were going 'huh I wonder why they didn't do X thing between these other things'. I have not been disappointed by a single thing so far, and have been playing it almost non-stop since I got it.

The way they expand out Biggs, Wedge, and Jessie? Just... you will not be disappointed if you are a fan of the original. All the nostalgia.

ETA: The combat system is the perfect blend of the original and FF15's combat thing, complete with all the options. It's what they should have done with FF15. It flows very nicely, and materia is actually both really important and has to be used very strategically.

Spanish shows in general on Netflix have been pretty great. Just binged the hell out of Elite, in all of its occasionally cringe-inducing glory. Toy Boy, same. Queen of the South. They're all sort of 'wtf why even' in that way that leaves you totally hooked.

I visit my local gamestop because the manager is hot af and I enjoy chatting him up. I also buy games. <.< But mostly the former.

While I like the theoretical idea, you'd very quickly run into the issue of people playing nazis just wanting to be trolls instead of trying to legit tell a story, and people getting all kinds of upset that there are like -- nazis. And people are playing them.

I see this going poorly, but if it could be done, it sounds fun as hell. Especially if no outcome is predetermined.

It actually sounds kind of interesting from the brief blurb linked there.

Older attorneys were raised in a very different environment. Where billable hours are the only thing that matters, where you try and make legal writing sound as arcane as goddamn possible because it's special, and where everyone under them is their 24/7 on-call slave.

God I'm glad law students are pushing back against that shit.

Refugees are legal, by whatever means they arrive. A peeve of mine. I don't accept that premise of the argument made by the idiots now sitting in old bunkers on the coast of England. Refugees have a right to come to us. They are different to illegal immigrants.

I've been making the same argument over here, reminding folks that as a matter of international law they are different. Seems nobody cares. It's convenient for their narrative.
