@il-volpe Do not take this as an insult, my guy, but if the hobby came down to twenty GoB-like games, I would consider it way past dead. Nothing against anyone who enjoyed it, but just because you can keep it open forever, it doesn't mean it is what anyone would consider a healthy game.

@SixRegrets Back in the glory days of WoD there was always a goliath of the genre, and a myriad of smaller representants. Even when Requiem for Kingsmouth was around and it was "The Arx of Vampire Games", there were still many games popping up and people were talking all about them all over the forum.

Yes, the hobby is very much on its last legs.

Original games are rare, and from the looks of the forum, the playerbase is too tired to RP (even pre 2020). Most are too busy to start new games, or dont have the juice/setup for it.

I firmly believe that if Arx bites the dust, the hobby is over, as I don't consider 10 player games as anything but a remnant.

I dont like to be a doomsayer, but it is what it is. This hobby is entirely player driven, and the players sound tired and done with it.

Mutant Genesis and Gods and Monsters are looking for staff. We are two separate games housed in the same shell. After a few changes to our themes and policies, like the removal of enforced continuity, opening to non-mutant characters and the founding of the Justice League, we will be advertising again soon!

We need story movers/storytellers. What are those?

1. People who will gather some folks out of nowhere and spark social scenes. Maybe they are about nothing in particular, or maybe they are about the weekly plots.

2. People who write IC bbposts for others to react to. News, team memos, and so on about the current plots.

3. People who like running scenes.

If you think you would enjoy these, PM me. There are plenty of popular characters available and a stable group of players.

We have recently gone through an overall in policy and philosophy. DC-side the Justice League has just been formed after the Alien Invasion arc. Marvel side is going to be getting a lot of focus now.

Looking for Staff, especially staff that could feasibly take care of the DC-side of the game!

Do heed Auspice's advice and find some time if you can! @Cupcake You were also very nice, and I am sorry if my answer sounded dismissive back then. Our players are generally very nice! Wish I could have helped more with your situation, but if you ever feel like trying again, we have more people around the time you play now, and some of them are scene runners that would love company.

Hello, everyone!

A lot of updated were made to the game in the last few months, so I feel an update here is also warranted!

First major change is that now the crowd over Gods and Monsters MUX has joined our game. The DC and Marvel grids are split, and there is no IC interaction between DC and Marvel characters, but everything else is joined!

Characters can now be X-Men, Brotherhood or Independent, if so suits your playstyle! Keep in mind Indepedent characters require some proactivity, since most events are geared toward the Teams.

We are now also accepting Original Characters on the Mutant Genesis side again (must be mutants, tho). More information in the wiki!

We also added Antagonist PCs, to allow proven Storytellers to claim characters from the Marvelverse, from Punisher to Venom, so they can run stories about them and keep the mutant characters on their toes. The Avengers are now just getting players and we would love to get the Thunderbolts started! The Thunderbolts of our world are inspired by their Dark Reign Era, where they are the USA secret operations supergroup branch

A few available characters needing players: Archangel, Beast, Cable, Cannonball, Dazzler, Magma, Moonstar, Nightcrawler, Polaris, any of the Cuckoos, Storm, Warpath and Wolverine.

Plotwise we have just finished the Sublime arc, and The Avengers have just found their footing. Next up we are tackling the Sentinels and the Acolytes!
