RE: Good TV
I only watched the first season because I was watching it with @Eerie and then real life forced her to ditch me ;__________; but that show should definitely have been called "The Adventures of Kublai Khan and his Dumbass White Friend".
If this show was so named, I'd watch it every day and force my kids to do so as well.

The scene that always makes me cringe?
The Babadook, when the kid starts screaming in the car.

I find myself agreeing with @Tempest here.
I haven't run the metrics here, but isn't it equally likely that the activity that would have been in the Hog Pit or elsewhere has instead been directed at the Administration on MSB thread?
Plus, that would be ignoring the thread on Elsa's misbehaviors, the fun stuff about United Heroes, the posts here, on The 8th Sea.
There's only so much time in the day.

RE: RL Anger
I hear you. That's what my partner gets a lot, and it sort of pisses me off.
The difference between doctors and lawyers is that one's customers are in severe pain. I mean, eventually my clients hurt, but that's when they get the invoice. For doctors, it's a doubly-whammy.

It's all about the right music with me. The right song hits on my walk home and I'll start running.
For me, it's Lose Yourself or Through the Fire and the Flames.
Yes, my running speeds vary.

RE: RL Anger
Honestly, I haven't had much problem with this. Then again, I use a battle axe.
Sorry to hear about all that. One "good" thing about having a partner that's had cancer eleventy-billion times is that they super-scan her every single time she gets a minutiae of pain. So, they tend to find causes of pain easily. Last time she was in, she had a cyst like that on an ovary that she still has for some stupid reason because it's not like she has a fucking uterus any more.

Also, it seems necessary to point out that a mod is not a normal poster. They are a person of public interest. That means that their behaviors are obviously going to be under general scrutiny.
I think you mean "greater" scrutiny.
This is an important point. This is something I think the three mods are trying to feel out.
Arkandel, Auspice, and I talk regularly over PM. We don't always agree. Sometimes we wait for a consensus to act. Sometimes we don't.
I'd have a new set of Rules of Engagement drawn up, but for the fact that my work days have been bitching, and, with the holiday season and having to prepare for it, I am very drained at the end of the day, and just feel like working out and singing karaoke.
I think what Thenomain was getting at before was that this thread -- all of it, the good, the bad, the ugly, the veiled insults, the kicking, the shoving, the shouting -- is good. And it's good because we're still doing it, posting up pictures of puppies, tossing in GIFs, and, at least from my perspective, getting a wide range of opinions and perspectives from the members.

I also have no idea what is being discussed.

Bold mine. Did you guys actually discuss this and agree on it? Because the placement seems so obviously silly, and your wording makes it seem like it wasn't as much of a group decision as it's being presented as.
The post was made between the time I learned of what was brewing on Stranger Than Fiction and when I responded to Arkandel and Auspice. It was discussed thereafter. It was not a unanimous decision.
I have already said that I'm not going to step in to moderate in the Hog Pit, and how I will moderate the Advertisement Thread. I would not have posted anything.
I can understand the rationale of a decision and find it reasonable even if I would have done something else that is also reasonable.

RE: Good TV
It's really hard for me to explain. Because it's not that it was a fight scene. I enjoy fight scenes. I love writing them, for example. They're full of energy and exciting. The adrenaline rush and... I mean, in Luke Cage, the Bring Da Ruckus scene? Fuck yes, love that scene.
It's because it's not a fight scene. It's a murder scene.
The difference between a fight and a murder is subtle. A fight is where there is a contest between relative equals. A murder occurs when a victim has no real chance.
This scene made my partner uncomfortable (she's a rape survivor). For her, she suffered disquiet because she knows how it feels to be powerless to stop something.
For me, I think that's the distinction you're looking for.

@saosmash said in Regarding administration on MSB:
I thought in this case that the error was giving credence to a complaint without any reality behind it, thereby loaning it legitimacy it might not otherwise have.
This is a reasonable conclusion, but it is true that, in the past, predecessors of this forum have gone to games to "raid" them, so to speak. There was talk of this earlier, which was dissuaded by Arkandel. To deny the possibility of a WORA cabal lurking here to commit nefarious things, however remote, is to deny that past.
So, I think it was reasonable to say, as an official statement or otherwise, that the vast, vast majority of us, if not all, do not support this behavior. Its placement is questionable, but I understand and support the sentiment behind the decision to say something.

I need that kind of excessive authority.
