(Hilariously, the week on that I had huge amounts of bacon daily I lost 12 pounds and it stayed off for six months... somebody has to explain that shit to me because seriously that's freaky.)

New studies are showing that animal fat isn't all bad for you. If you're not used to eating tons of meat, bacon can sit in your stomach for a while, making you feel fuller. Lots of potential reasons.

My problem comes when staff has this "grand vision" and any player diversion from said vision is ignored, or otherwise discounted. Akin to writing a book rather than actually building a story with the players one is leading.

There's two kinds of railroading: (1) where there is a definite, express, or obvious sequence of events to the story; and (2) where the storyteller shuts down any method or tactic that does not lead to the desired outcome.

It's the difference between having to take out a squad of bad guys to get to the goal, and where the GM has put you in a narrow corridor that forces you to open a single door and confront the squad head-on.

To balance out the 'still having migraines,' I found out at the Dr's that I passed my last weight plateau. Been stuck at a specific spot for a few months now and weighed in at 5lbs under that previous.

If you cut off your head, you could solve both problems!

I'm kidding. Don't cut your head off.

While AP might discourage you from sharing clues, it does encourage folks to recruit new PCs to their faction. This is how I got in at RfK: by being a peon that did what he was told. And eventually, by outlasting everyone else, my peon became more and more important.

I played on RfK, but I'm pretty sure Ricardo wasn't there when I was.

      I played Cai.

I love love LOVE punk rock covers of pop/oldies. So you KNOW that Me First and the Gimme Gimmes are basically my idols.

      You'd better.

I had a lot of covers linked to Clarice's wiki page at the Reach. Unfortunately, the wiki is down.

      All true.

      Speaking of covers, this song.

I've had some time to process FF XV and its ending, and I've decided it is really good. Really, really good. You get what you put into the game, and although I wasted five fucking hours trying to catch a murk grouper, the plot, the gameplay -- everything -- is pretty stellar. I found myself not really caring that I plowed through the game quite easily -- I didn't master a lot of the subtle, strategic play -- and found myself aching to get through the final 4 chapters. Which means I have to go back and complete some shit, like getting a brontosaurus haunch (I shit you not).

    • RE: Game Concept: Paying for rare things

@Bobotron said in Game Concept: Paying for rare things:

This isn't about ridiculing a concept for 'speshul snowflakeness'. It's about finding another way to allow something that is problematic, or should be rare, in a different way than an application, a cap, or staff fiat. It gives player agency to the choices they make. Sure, everyone on the game might go OKAY I WILL BE JEDI AT 6 POINTS or somesuch, but the THEORY behind it is sound, as many of us have witnessed first-hand. It could be applied to the Jedi issue in SW to help alleviate some of the above insanity.

This argument presumes any insanity on an SW game if people are given the freedom to choose.

This argument also presumes that a larger occurrence of purportedly rare concepts is problematic.

I understand the system and how it is calculated to work. I'm arguing that there was never a problem to begin with that needed to be addressed with system modification.

I'm pretty sure that Han was involved in just as much action as Luke.

Not to mention that action he got with Luke's sister.

Even without autofire, there's nonsense like a wookiee in rage, with a couple of the Feats that make rage way stronger, and maybe some of the grappling feats, etc.

You need to get off-planet? You need a pilot.

You need to get information quietly? You need a slicer.

I know that a built-properly FU can take down a similar-leveled PC one-on-one. However, that's the fault of the non-FU; you don't go fighting Jedi one-on-one, ever, and everyone knows that. But Jedi generally have the fewest skill proficiencies, so if they want to be able to do anything except wave their light-penis around, they need to rely on others. Catch them alone with a small squad, and they will go down. Force them to have to defuse a bomb, and they will go down.

So, no. I don't think FUs are over-powered. They aren't even on Rahu-level when it comes to being OPed relative to the other classes.
