@Cobaltasaurus This should probably go in the coding group forum.

RE: Good TV
@Coin You linked it with the timestamp, so it almost immediately went to the end of the video.

RE: Shadowrun!
@Thenomain I wonder about that. From what I recall of Evennia, part of their pitch includes the fact that the client connection service is separate from the back-end code. At the most basic level, this means you can have a shell open and happily code on the back-end without dropping connections on every change. Now, I'd hope there'd be a better process involved with that, but technically, it just means a coder coding in a different window to the same effect.

RE: Text Input Box
The only thing I can suggest trying is to go to chrome://settings/cookies#cont in your url tab, search for musoapbox, click on musoapbox.net, then click on local storage and then remove.

RE: Pirates and Swashbuckling
@Cobaltasaurus You could perhaps go with a flotilla concept. A main galleon type with smaller ships as part of a grand pirate fleet. With some rules for what it means to be part of the flotilla, you could get your individual crews, or just members of the "main" galleon and the opportunity for smaller boats to head to a port and catch up later, or go off on resource gathering, raiding, defense, etc, etc.
This would, of course, force a narrower theme and wouldn't cater to /all/ play styles, but I think it'd be broad enough to give people niches and a bit of exploration and freedom while still sticking to the theme of the high seas.

RE: Uploading images via Chrome
@Monogram I just added that type to the list, but without the actual image, I can't check anything out.

RE: Uploading images via Chrome
The forbidden message is because of the file type, not your browser. What file are you trying to upload?
-
RE: Uploading images via Chrome
@Miss-Demeanor bmp isn't one of the allowable types.

RE: Uploading images via Chrome
Testing... there we go.
All right, you should be able to use the upload button now.

RE: Uploading images via Chrome
Okay, so I actually just tried this in firefox too and it wasn't working there either. Originally, uploading files was not allowed, but you should still be able to link them, which is what the person who was using firefox may have been having no problem with?

RE: Commissioning Character Art
Oh man, Elfwood. That brings back some memories.
Aaaaaand now I feel old on a random Thursday.
ETA: Just checked my deviantArt profile. March 18, 2004.

RE: Post Previews
There's a black circle with a white up arrow over the text "Replying to "BLAH"" above the compose window. Clicking that will expand the composition to most of the screen height and should give more of a preview.

RE: Kushiel's Debut
I tried. I even read the first book, but the setting and themes just didn't do it for me. My impression from trying it was pleasant overall, however, and anything non-WoD generally gets a thumbs up from me too.

RE: Hosting: 10 Things To Know
Security through obscurity is rarely a viable solution. I otherwise also think these are good tips/tricks.

And also, it is not at all meant to imply there is anything WRONG with being a casual.
People willing to do lots of work running scenes, pitching ideas, possibly having to put in more to get more. These players would have some sort of perks - IC titles, XP, who knows.
These slots would be less restricted in the application process but have less impact, so to speak, on the game.
There's nothing wrong with being a casual, except you get no perks and have less impact.
I actually don't mind the whole time spent contributing to game equals greater perks. I just don't think that a casual should be artificially limited in the amount of impact they have. If they have a social scene with little consequence twice a week, that's just how they like playing. If they instead contribute through substantive scenes, smart jobs and other low-time, high-return activities, I think they should get to see their efforts bear fruit.
The number of casuals that do something like that are probably few as it is, so I don't think it's going to hurt any to encourage contribution from all sources.

RE: Play-by-Post Category and Group
@HelloRaptor I've actually never tried deleting an account. I wonder what it would do to the posts and the like.

Play-by-Post Category and Group
So here's a category/group for setting up play-by-post games. Hunt for games, advertise your own, or just discuss things related to play-by-post gaming. The accompanying group is open to all and if this gets more traction, I'll look at dividing things up a bit better. As it is now, if you manage to wrangle up a few people for a game, I'll set you up with your own group, some sub-categories just for your game group (along the lines of IC, OOC and Setting or whatever) and you can get down with your RP'ing selves.
If you have any ideas or thoughts regarding any of this, feel free to respond here for discussion.
