    • RE: The ADD/ADHD Thread (cont'd from Peeves)

      @Wretched

My wife says I am a tyrannical hurricane force of chaos that only happens to happen orderly out of sheer, math-bending luck. Emotional triggers are hairs, our difficulty with emotion is instinctive. Reactionary. First person to strike in the fight, last person to understand why we are in trouble. Typical ADD/ADHD tactic to 'fix' a situation?

Burn it all down, start over in the morning.

Omgomgomgomgomg. So, y'all ready to learn about yourselves?

      Ding'd.

You ever hear of Mushin? Flow? Hyperfocus?

Fun fact about those with ADD/ADHD, we exist in a sort of mental stasis until our brains are activated by physical stimuli, and while we may not be neurotypical, we come with some bonuses:

Reaction. Your body ever react without you having to think? More than just muscle memory, kids. In the state of Flow, or Hyperfocus, we react better.

Hyperfocus itself: Able to enter and disengage rapidly and more often than neurotypical folk, those with ADD/ADHD seem unable to dislodge or be dislodged from hyperfocused tasks (for me, this is how I worked ninety hours on a project until my shirt was, quite literally, shredded and so muddied, I wasn't recognized. My crew did not appreciate my inability to stop.)

Time: Time is a funny thing, subjective, relative, but to those of this category, most often it is observed one extreme: Yesterday was an eternity ago, and tomorrow doesn't exist. This elasticity is likely some instinctive seed, still relevant now as it was when this neurotype was a survival strategy.

Sleep: When asleep, our brains are different. Not just a little different, but the C-Wave moves to an entirely different part of the brain. We're not really sure what this means, but it means something. B-B-B-BONUS RRRROUND: During PSG Studies those with ADD/ADHD that goes untreated have a higher percentage of waking at the drop of a hat and dime to the floor.

There is more. It's good shit, kids. Good shit.

So, dinging. Maaaaan, dinging is the best. Y'all ever Ding? That moment, that second, wherein you can feel your brain shift speeds, time stops being relevant at all, people too, and all there is - is the Hyperfoci. That stimuli. Project. Person. Song. Whatever it is that activated the HF, The Flow, and The Ding that rings like a little bell, and it's like you don't think anymore, don't feel, just, Do.

    • As an ST..

..as an ST, how do you balance for yourself, your group, your sphere, your game, the stories that are on a grand-scale vs. personal?

One thing I have noticed is The Story has drastically expanded (with the popularity of video games like Skyrim, where one is always the world-saving hero) the scope of importance, rather than focusing on Self or Group.

Ex: I RP on Sheltering Colorado as Christmas, one of the Holiday Gang of Anarchs. All of our times are really scattered but - we get group play, I get personal play, and the Staff are pretty lax about how involved we need to be, due to it being primarily Camarilla and our story-scope being flexible.

But, in other places with larger player-sizes, that scope increases drastically (The Inquisition is starting, World War III, The Rise of the Antedeluvians, Cthulu, etc). So...

How do you, as STs, balance yourself, your stories, and your time?

    • RE: What is your turning point?

      I'm a GC.
I make waterparks, movie sets and coasters happen.

My times waver, and my career involves being the biggest, meanest, most-insulting douchebag in the sandbox so all the other douchebags in the sandbox get to fucking work, and get the job done.

Anytime I feel the need to employ my skills as a GC in the small time I have to myself, is time I write off - as well as the person who invoked it.

    • RE: Life... in outer space!

      Short-answer: Yes.

Long-Answer: By the time we ever reached any zone with other life not in our own system, within the Ort Cloud, the life forms and their system, would likely be gone. Evidence of them too, potentially.

I've been kind of fixating on 7 days to die lately, and how interesting I can make my 'base'.

The game is legit fun, graphics are pretty low end, but it's still Alpha and still entertaining as hell.

Seven Days to Die is amazinginginging.

    • RE: Celebrities that are Dead To Us

I like to doubt everything until my doubt can be dispelled by hard facts.

Sure, what is presented is disgusting, if it's true. It's even more disgusting if the accusations aren't true.

      So I doubt.

And given the bankroll of the people against Tyson, I doubt that story just as much if not maybe more.

I like all the separation and tribalism of late in the media though, and along social media, it's cute.
