@Bobotron Not enough bunnygirl changelings.
I would love an Avatar game but man, what a clean, beautiful setting. It would never survive players.

@Pondscum I'll bite. Tell us your tale of woe.
I think it is a LOT of game for a newbie, @kitteh, for sure. =/ The practical realities of people having a lot of xp are going to vary and might not always be how they seem (OR THEY MIGHT!), but I definitely get the perception.
The idea was to have other players assisting you, re: investigations. Or to build yourself into a social beast where you don't need the help, which is much, much cheaper than building yourself into a combat beast.
I mean, I don't think anyone is coming together to repel an invader or something, but if your perspective of a problem is not other peoples' perspective of a problem, they are likely going to chime in.
That's somewhat the point of a forum like this.
There's more to that phrase, though. Great artists steal *
*from many, many sources. You can't just take something someone else did wholecloth. You take a dozen somethings a dozen people did and blend them together.
@Thenomain Get off your own lawn.
So in the final battles of the siege (IE the storming of Arx) we realized that uh, if you go unconscious it essentially removed any danger because nothing would target you.
That's going to be (might already have been) fixed. That's why no PCs died during it - though a few still came REALLY close. Whoops. You get this one for free, Arx.
We don't really encourage people specifying in their for-the-roster- CGs what the character's orientation is, because it's not really intrinsic to what makes people tick, and that way players have freedom to decide. Generally speaking.
Know what keeps the most (positive) people engaged in a rp game? It's not time-to-resolution on jobs (though apps and stuff should clearly be pretty speedy). It's not a well polished set of helpfiles, though that certainly is nice to have.
It's story. It's roleplay. Let's be brutally honest: whatever mechanics and systems you have are most likely not going to compete with even the simplest of actual video games. People play rp games to rp.
So here, I will say the thing I always stop myself from saying to players who are complaining they can't get involved, or they can't really get motivated, or that no one wants to rp with them or come to their events.
Be more interesting.
Every decision you make should be with the goal of enabling interesting story for people to rp about/within.

Call me cynical but:
It's not anonymous. People will be complimentary for the same reason most white journal pages are positive: they'll get shit for it if they're not..
If you're negative toward someone, they're less likely to first impression you in return and give you 4 XP.
Yeah, I honestly don't care if people are miserable haters in their secret hearts. I just want them to not be insanely miserable haters in my face.
The best part of the +firstimpression command, from my viewpoint (since XP doesn't matter to me) is how overwhelmingly positive they've been. It's so nice to see characters (and by extension, players) finding nice things to say about each other.
We're going to smooth out the drama, no worries. Darkwater will be course corrected and Thrax/Gyre plots will continue to hum along.
If someone is bringing OOC drama to you, please do let us know. We've had some complaints already and have spoken with people to let them know that's not ok. If it keeps up, we'd like to know so we can address it. Please and thank you!
@saosmash Go Fug Yourself is basically my favorite blog. I like to pretend to be fashionable.

There's a difference between 'The NPCs say my scandalous vomit-green dress is hotter than yours' and 'I rolled the dice now tell me about your ties to the demonic horde while we prep the executioner's blade, traitor'.
No one has argued for either of those things. The first is boring, the second robs a player of their autonomy. However, as @Sparks pointed out, there's a more indepth conversation about social combat in another thread.
I actually don't find the first very boring, we've discussed ways to make fashion tied in to social prestige, and tossed around ideas for a 'who wore it better' or 'best dressed' blind vote function
@Ganymede did you seriously just @tag me so I'd get a notification you don't like me? lol go fuck yourself.
@Packrat Not sure if you are aware or not, but for the record there's a "theme questions" bb board where you can ask your burning questions and get responses that are there for posterity.
There you go, I leapt on you screaming a solution.
@Ganymede But we get cheaper candy tomorrow so I think it balances out.
Romance may be dead, but opportunism is alive and well.
Srs question, aren't they ALL super op compared to like, hunter/mortal? or is vampire considered kind of the standard? Where do the changelings fit in? (not the bunnygirls, I assume they aren't terribly threatening overall)
Austin is wonderful. It's my favorite city of all the cities I've spent time in.
(I would not want to live there. Not me.)
@Arkandel IMO it was that 2016 didn't just take legends, it took LUMINARIES.
Prince, Bowie, Carrie Fisher..these people were icons for a lot more than their professional work. And Rickman! It's that they were all too young, it seemed. Like yeah it's sad when an 80 year old actor we love dies, but come on. I was not ready to lose Prince.
