This is entirely fair. It is not, however, what was listed as the reason for locking the original thread. Nor the one I'm referencing, tbh.

If they want to ban me for this, that's their prerogative. It would, however, be a bad look on top of bad looks.
This is really disappointing, considering Gany and Derp both joked in it. It was locked because it brought up a very real grievance with an admin. There are many threads in the hog pit specifically made to talk about a single person, and the distinction between staff on a GAME being fair targets and staff on this board not being fair targets is a bad call.

The locking of the thread in politics was just as disappointing, because it wasn't locked for the reasons you posted. It wasn't vitriolic. You locked it because an admin was acting a fool and people were calling them out.
People who did not have Derp blocked before now cannot block him, because he is an admin.
This is a problem, and you need to deal with it.

yes! People don't hate other people for differences, they hate them because someone has painted the different people and their differences as the reason for their problems.
Probably there are settings that bake this kind of propaganda and superstition into the history, but what I see is usually just lazy. Goblins are evil, so everyone hates them.
Man idk, I try to come up with opportunities for people to help each other IC, as I think that fosters a (FALSE@!!!) sense of camaraderie that will hopefully lead to some friendly encouragement and chit chat and MAYBE lead to engagement between players outside the plot.
Like if someone does a really good roll, and someone else botches, give the first player the opportunity to save the other if they like or take a blow for them. Everyone likes to feel like a hero! I think it's even more satisfying than getting the big damage, or the killshot, etc.
I think there's a few things being discussed here? Having a sexual or romantic rp relationship with a character doesn't necessarily mean frequent or hours of TS. Or any TS.
And frankly, you will probably never know how much time someone else spends TSing so /shrug?

This is basically the only answer to... anything brought up in this thread. There are apparently dozens of ways to interpret exactly what an NPC is, what TS is, what a story is, what the point is... And anyone that doesn't do things the way you do is wrong, etc, etc.

I just wanted to reiterate there is no such thing as a RP emergency, and no one has ever been truly harmed by the inability to play on a RP game.
If you 'encourage players to report' but make them provide elaborate 'proof' or first tell people personally to leave them alone or use a multiple strike system, they will not report. They will just leave.
I know this because staffing probably the biggest not-sex-focused MU showed me this. So many people who came to us with concerns specifically said "I would not have brought this up but I saw that you guys actually deal with problems." / "I would not have reported but so and so told me to because they know you won't ignore it."

I'd find a different game to play. There's this weird equivalence people sometimes slip into where they think being booted from a rp game is as bad a situation as letting a creep chase people off a game or, heavens forfend, actually menace people.
No one has ever been legitimately harmed because they aren't able to play a rp game.

Nothing exists in a vacuum. Derp has a demonstrated history of pointing out victims often make false reports, and sung this 'logs are so easily forged' tune. Not going to go looking but I'm pretty sure he's also claimed reports of sexual harassment are overblown because he doesn't see it happening much.

@ganymede Ed is absolutely supposed to be good looking. For a 14 year old I guess, IDK. He is drawn sparkling and dramatically ripping off a coat once or twice.
But in general, I think rp turns into microcosms of human behavior. Pretty in life is a privilege most everyone would like to have. Then it becomes a focus on people who aren't doing it right.
Just like life. Pretty people are desired, scrutinized, and then 'put in their place'.

I shall continue to stand on my soapbox and shout that all characters should always be on the roster and anyone can pull any of them off for the night to play them. When the log off, the character goes back on the roster for someone else to play. Also I would have a time limit that auto forces a person out of the character after 24 hours to keep people form idling in a character so no one else can play them. This would take MUSHes in more of a collaborative novel direction rather than the MUD-y standard it tries to stick to now.

Portraying a character takes time. You can pull something off a roll and play it on a surface level over a playsession, but most people like to develop characters.
