Let's be real - most people in this hobby know damn well what the expected behavior is. Treating them like children who don't understand what's wrong to do to other people without an exhaustive list of examples and scenarios isn't doing anyone any favors.

If your game has something specific that most games don't (IE the no rape policy, all about that being laid out so expectations are properly managed out the gate), note that. Then just say generally "don't be a dick. We will probably ask you not to be a dick once."

@Auspice Right, we can't explain things until we can measure them. Measuring is the key to science! So, I think there's a lot of stuff in the world and the universe that seems supernatural and fantastic because we haven't yet figured out how to measure it. (Or stumbled on how to measure it and extrapolated from that what it is. This also happens!)

It's hard to say "I believe in paranormal things" because what I actually believe is that there are undoubtedly forms energy can exist in that we don't understand. There are patterns to life that we can't see because we are part of them. Do I believe in ghosts? Vampires? No.

I can say I have seen some things that have filled me with wonder, things that aren't adequately explained by known facts. I can't believe in whatever is behind them because I don't know what that is, be it sympathetic limbic memories or residual energy or multiverses touching at the edges or x, y, z.

I'd say yes if you weren't specifying "things that science hasn't yet explained' don't count. I think you are sort of setting this discussion up to be a lot of short "No" replies with that caveat.

I mean, sure, but where is the right spot? Making a hog pit thread to bag on it seems a little excessive (or a lot excessive). It's not at all unusual to have advertisements trail off on tangents about what people think about the stated info/reaching for clarification.

Not sure why you are expecting to get torn to pieces over that, but not mentioning it at first and then this statement make it look a bit like you suspect it wasn't the sort of thing that would go over well.

It's possible staff will spend the bulk of their time storytelling and having fun from a more meta perspective (as I personally feel staff should), but I admit I have a hard time trusting that a game set during DA2 where staff is playing most of Hawke's merry band of misfits will actually go that way.

There's nothing objectively wrong with wanting to start up a game where you and your friends can rp as Hawke and Co during DA2, but I'm not interested enough in providing background noise to check it out, personally. I'm sure someone will, and will report back to us.

That said, this pages-long hubbub about what might or might not have happened in an IC scene on the Reach ages ago is kind of bizarre.

No game has the ability to make coteries/packs/cabals? That's the only requirement I see.

I admit to a morbid curiosity about how many of the FCs are being played by staffers.
