Not a teacher. Finally have hope with an interview on Tuesday for a good job - and even better, working in the same place with a friend who is awesome and totally supporting me in this (she referred me)

Pain. That's my big fucking peeve for the day.

When a guy I gave my number to earlier this week, and told I wasn't feeling well and going to try to sleep it off --- keeps texting me and then tries to count to three. Like I'm a child who is going to be in trouble.

Thank the gods that controlling dickbag outed himself before I wasted more time. But sure, it's my 'loss', buddy.

@Ganymede If you were at a Christmas show with the kids, you may have been legit distracted. And I love cupcakes, but fuck them if I can have cheesecake.

My roommate - I told her since I was broke, I couldn't afford holiday gifts. She still managed to get me two small gifts that were exactly what I would have wanted.

I also love my little gang of weirdo family I got to see for Yule.

@JinShei HAHAHAHA. Good luck with that. I wake up to Logan in my face all the time.

@Auspice It's weird. Logan freaks out when furniture moves, when the bed isn't in place. Once it gets made up and I sit on it, he starts to calm down. But when he's in the car, like he was for hours a couple times to move? He's chill. I don't get it.

I got hooks for the bedroom door to try and keep things more organized. I got a nice little journal. Both of those were from the roommates.

On Christmas, a friend of mine found out I was looking at crystal pendants. He decided I needed two: rose quartz and an amethyst - with one having a little stamped disc with my first initial, the other with my last initial. And thought to get them on chains slightly different in length, so I could wear them both if I wanted. Super thoughtful and pretty. I'm sure some of it was he knew I was all alone on the holiday.

Then a friend bought me Minecraft. And then stopped playing it 2 days later, and will not be renewing the realm sub.

I am so saddened by this. He was such an amazing musician. It's sad that he retired in 2015 to spend time with his wife and daughter, and was hit by this cancer in year after. I know that he would probably be embarrassed his death made the news - he was so private. But I think an enormous number of people mourn tonight, finding out about his death. I am certainly one of them.

It's very true that joking about the pain etc when I'm venting about it after having it dismissed - it pisses me off.

But I thought the after my comment would make it obvious I was teasing about the clocking thing. I might make a mock swipe at someone in RL for being a jerky smartass, but hitting someone when I'm already in high pain? Not going to do anything but make pain WORSE.

My first two super serious relationships I met them online through friends I RPed with. The last one I met while out on a cheese trail thing with other friends.

I've had a lot of less serious relationships, but I don't have the time or energy for that bullshit anymore. Either be totally chill and we hang out/have sex/you go home at the end of the night - or let's get fucking real and figure out if we really want to go long term, you know?

My co-worker gave me two random pieces of chocolate today - because he'd picked them up at the store on his way to work and they had nuts in them and he can't have them, but it was still nice of him to offer them to me.

Then he, the big boss, and I got to talk about the Super Bowl/NFL for a good 20 minutes. My big boss did my first desk audit, which I passed super easy, and he's super encouraging. He asked me if I'm still liking it, which I am. He's given me a job where I can do what I'm /good/ at, and something that makes me feel good/worthwhile. The pay is still a little lame, but once they bring me on from the temp - that gets better and all the bonuses I earn between now and then come active.

Opposing counsel came back with a super low ball offer - wouldn't even cover lost wages. I told my lawyer haha no. Now they've just pissed me off.

@Waller Man, that guy was AMAZING. I remember him on like sesame street or something as a kid. But watching videos of him? Holy heck.

@TNP Well here's a funny story.

You know how companies send you those emails about their product? Well I got one this morning, and sent a reply that was snarky as hell - figuring it's going to bounce back, no one's going to read it, etc.

I was wrong. She read it - and got back to me, and started the return before I even got the email (And gave me a month long free trial). Add in that I called my bank, and I will not have any overdraft charges? I'm pretty chill.

Well, unemployment had a super quick turn around. So that's nice - bills are paid and I don't have to freak out. Work, on the other hand, is harder than hell to focus on. I feel like I'm failing all over the place. I have to use my cellphone to call clients, so my id is blocked, so people aren't answering. I need to talk to them to really do my job. Bleh.

I confess, I love the ice cream kind. I like the non-ice cream too, but the strawberry ice cream ones are just /so/ good.
