@Sunny I know all these feels. Thank the gods my housemate is a young, strong guy. He never even bitches when I ask him to grab the heavy stuff out of the car so I don't have to make a crap ton of trips.

My brain still doesn't like to think about why/how to ask for help.

@eye8urcake While I can't speak for your husband, as someone who also has that pain pill resistance (it takes morphine, for example) and auto immune nerve/spine damage - pot works better and faster for me than my sister who did not get my pain med resistance. Two or three big hits and I'm relaxed and daydreaming, and she's making fun of me.

@eye8urcake Yeah. Relaxed, not pain free. But I get so tense when I keep trying to work through the pain, that even just relaxing so I can rest is a godsend. I used to use it just to fall asleep (Dad got me smoking with him when he realized I didn't sleep at night like he didn't), and now I use it when I'm so tensed up that I need to stop, or I might break.
Lucky me - Ambien works (though they took me off it, the bastards), and now I'm on a mix of gabapentin and something else.

@Ghost They can't play the Ducks until July? Well, I won't be subbing until then! (They are a favorite set of movies in my family)

Filling out onboarding and background BS this week (but got a job offer, yay!) - Sadly, the recruiter and I seem to have a communication issue - "Hey, this won't let me sign it." "Please sign this form and send it back to me." " ... I tried to do that, I downloaded it again and refilled it out - it still will not allow me to sign it" "Please redownload and sign it. "

My roommates left earlier today. I have everything for a little Christmas dinner for myself.

I called my sister - knowing she has to work tomorrow- and she answered. She, my other sister (and Nugget), stepmother, and stepgrandmother, and the normal crew, had a get together tonight.

It was a family thing - but I guess I'm not part of the family, anymore.

@Selira I felt for her so much - she got a LOT of hate and threats. People bitching about her transition, and digging up old pictures and just.. lots of horrible things that made me angry. Then her team was SHITE, got banned for their horrible treatment of their players. But she was still kicking around the league, for Flyquest and in the latin league. I had hoped everything was going to get better and she'd be back in the LCS

@Rinel All I have heard so far is that it was in her sleep. I have heard stories, but nothing with concrete sources, of course, that her transition surgery did not go well, and she was on painkillers.

@PuppyBreath @Derp is right. My boy is an ESA. I got a letter from my therapist, though if you don't have one currently, there are services where you can take a test and a licensed mental health pro will do it.

I work for public health insurance. I have a lot of cases with older people, some of whom do not speak English. No big, we have Lionbridge we can use.

But when I call, I get the son/daughter/whomever, and they're like "Well, I'm so and so." ... I'm like "Well, that's great, but I asked for X." ...but I can't say that. But I have to speak to the person I asked for, it's fucking HIPAA. But these chuckleheads - they will fight you on this, and it's so fucking annoying. They will insist "Well, I handle everything for them." Sure, you might, but the fact remains, I need their permission to speak to you about their case, unless you go through the paperwork, and get put ON FILE that you're an Authorized Rep (which they never do).

Just... UGH.

@solstice Also, if there are a lot of windows, the thermal curtains often come with some sound proofing. I thought it was bunk, until I got them.

@ravengirl Interesting. They actually make the chair I linked, that I had settled on being the one I want to buy!

Also, I'm using my kitchen stepstool for a foot rest, and dear gods. Nope nope nope. I need something else.
