When your character keeps doing something, and it both makes you wince and laugh repeatedly. Because it is something you would never do, but lord, is it funny to think about.

RE: Mourning a character, how do you do it?
@hella I mean, I've read a few interviews from Pros, who when they have to let a character go, they will sit, have a drink/toast to, write down the things they liked least/best, and/or have a bit of a cry.

Today is the 6th Anniversary of the day this adorable boy chose me.

RE: Health and Wealth and GrownUp Stuff
Well, it's finally here. Day I find out if they will actually give me something to help. My therapist warned me she probably will want to give me a mood stabilizer versus something controlled like Adderall. It's time I dig in my heels to be my own best advocate. Wish me luck

RE: The ADD/ADHD Thread (cont'd from Peeves)
I wish someone had tried to help me figure out how to cope, when I was a kid. But 'girls don't get ADHD' was basically how I was treated. I didn't understand the harm I was doing to my grades when I would get hyperfocused on something that would do me no good scholastically. I'm sure my father's notion that it was that I was lazy and undisciplined and his 'solution' to that didn't help, either.

RE: The Work Thread
@Auspice I already spoke to my diabetic doctor's office. I'll have one in the mail by the end of the week to give the job.
But I have an interview on Friday for a much better paying gig (I mean WAY better), so if some of y'all could spare me some good thoughts, it would mean a HUGE change up for me.

RE: Health and Wealth and GrownUp Stuff
-sigh- So I got pulled into the office at work today. So they can 'request' I test my blood sugars and inject my insulin in the ladies' room or the break room, and not at my desk. Because 'some people' have 'weak stomachs'.
So - when I test, there's a tiny drop of blood I put on a test strip. Unless you're RIGHT THERE, you're not going to see it.
Also? Illegal, per the ADA.

RE: RL things I love
I'm crazy in love with my nephew. I got to hold him and take care of him for 4 hours today. The Oxytocin is dangerous level.

RE: Health and Wealth and GrownUp Stuff
@Rinel I understand this feeling. I would hug you and bring snacks, if I could.

RE: Health and Wealth and GrownUp Stuff
@Auspice There are things about me I will always hate. But I feel you about the scarring (hello 4 abdominal surgeries in 4 years) and no matter what, I KNOW where the scars are, even the ones other people may not 'notice'.
Other people think I'm hot, so I'll roll with it. I will stop telling them how they're blind/wrong/etc. Because even if I am heavier than I would like to be, and scarred, I'm a badass bitch.

They have accepted my counter counter offer, as emotional damages so that they are not taxed like wages. Here is hoping we get this done asap

RE: The Work Thread
@silverfox You could donate money to food banks, maybe? They can get more food per dollar than a regular old person donating food, and they're getting hit pretty hard right now, with so many people in need.
