I stopped using them entirely in DA:O/A once I realized they'd put in code to allow warriors and wizards to bash or spell open locked chests/doors, and it just had to be enabled. >_>

How do you do this? Once I replaced the rogue with the war dog the combat got reasonable, but I'm missing out oh ph4t loot because Buddy with the giant mace doesn't know it can be used against objects as well as people. Also, I sure wish my shield walls would stop skeletons from running up to gut my wizard.

I liked Caramon's arc in Legends. Guy saves the world and then goes back to his shitty little village. Dude can cut draconians to bits, but he's a shit ass carpenter so nobody hires him and he turns into a deadbeat sponging off his wife(did they get married? I forget).

Then he gets pulled back in time and has to get back into shape, his pal thinks he's being tortured when they pull him out of the cell but they're just making him work off the extra buck fifty he put on at the Inn.

Anyways, Kaz and Huma were awesome, yeah, but now that I think about it, Weasel was the best DL character.

Peeing when the urinals are all doing their hourly flush. It feels so mighty.

This is my first encounter with shit stirrers, why would anyone disturb the shit and stir it?

There are a few things that I think SW does better than most rpgs that I've encountered:

I feel it also does modern shooty combat in a way that is actually fun, which, quite a few rpgs fail at. My second favourite being GURPS, but it's a bit too crunchy to be the most 'fun' IMO.

There are really no gimme encounters in the system. Anyone can take anyone on and stand a puncher's chance of winning. In many systems, PCs become impervious to anything but the most twinkish NPC builds.

As goofy as it is, I actually like the deck of cards initiative system.

One really big selling point for me is that it does pretty much everything I ask it to pretty well. Not the best in every situation, but if I want to run something off the cuff, SW will handle just about any scenario/setting very easily with rules as written.

@Apollonius Yeah, I just thought it was ridiculous that a small pack of wolves would tear through a party of dudes wearing metal armour like that. It seemed to save all of the rolls, because every time I'd reload, it would be exactly the same story. Haven't touched the game since 2012. I guess if I could be arsed to find a crack for it to edit my sheets I might take another swing so I could see the story everyone keeps talking about, but the gameplay is awful in my opinion.

Huh, I always thought the states had better standards than Canada's. Here you can list "Natural Flavours" and it can literally be ANYTHING as long as you're adding it for flavour and not 'nutrition'.

Does it get good? I keep getting fucked up (TPK every time!) by wolves trying to get to the first town. It got frustrating so I put the game down and never looked back.

Easy character generation. If there are a bunch of hurdles to jump before I can have fun, I'll check out without giving a place a chance. Required backgrounds are included, I prefer to make that stuff up during play.

A set of rules that is easily accessible. If I can download a copy of the rulebook, hooray. Is everything on your wiki? Even better. Is everything in a house rule bboard or some obscure news file that isn't labeled 'news house rules' that everyone is expected to know off by heart? Fuck off.

Friendly staff that encourage RP rather than just idle and yell on +pub Why you not RPing?!

A fun OOC atmosphere where players are able to run their own pickup plots with actual rewards like cash and prizes. If things are super difficult to get, then you bet I'm going to be a baby and blow a spaz when a boring staff run plot takes them away.

@Bargle Dang, I must suck, a lot of the guards could kill me in only a few chops. Especially if they get behind me, one chop is like 50% health gone.

@Bargle Actually playing the game, I didn't find it quite as bad as people make out. The guards all seem to scale with the character so that no matter what you have to whack them 3-5 times with a longsword to kill them.

If you do savage worlds, I'd happily borrow your code! I've been wanting to do a Wolfenstein./weird wars 2 / call of cthulu type mush for a while now!

Also a Mist mush, and a Savage worlds Star Was sandbox. It's hard to stay focused sometimes.

Ultimately, you will lose more weight -- better weight -- by actually eating more and burning more energy via exercise. And by eating more, I mean eating more healthy food, like vegetables. Because nothing trick fucks your body into burning fat than eating 5 pounds of broccoli and carrots a day, and working out for an hour or so.

I think the trick is to eat more often, rather than more calories. So more frequent, smaller meals so your metabolism is always going.

      @FiranSurvivor

In the spring/summer/fall I bike to work and that keeps me in decent shape. I've still put on weight since getting full time hours and money, but that's mostly because I do really adore carbs and carb related foods. In the winter, whenever I'm watching TV, I'm on my water rower or swinging a kettlebell around. Doing 200 swings per hour of TV seems like a decent trade off for my lazy ass. The issue is when I finish a show, my exersize routine goes out the window.

@Arkandel Yeah, when I started measuring my snack food by how many hours on the sweat machine it would take to burn away, I started eating pretty healthy.

When you're in your thirties, you start getting something much, much worse: Work Dreams.

I'm a fraidy cat and after watching paranormal activity had nightmares for weeks, but nothing's worse than putting in a hectic 8 hour day and then hearing your goddamned alarm clock going off and finding out it was all a dream and you get to do it all over, immediately. What a rip off!
