      I love you guys, and I love the topic, but can we make it into its own thread? I'm flirting with being triggered by the Good TV thread!

      ETA: Or spoiler tags? Something, please! Pretty please. This is pure desperation talking, I am not trying to be rude or anything, I swear.

      No. The only reason they're leading to that conclusion is because you refuse to acknowledge they could be interpreted any other possible way. Your premise (that X leads to Y, and therefore Z is true) is incorrect, because it is only for you that X must lead to Y. This is where 'personal' comes in for personal preference.

      @ganymede said in Forum wonk:

      I'm looking for options. And pricing. I don't mind this being a public debate either.

      No opinion on the technical side of things, but -- MSB is the people. If we have to start threads over (or whatever), I do not think there will be any suffering for not having eleventy billion pages of the peeve thread. Archive can stay up for however long if people want to go back and look at it, but my guess would be that it would RARELY be accessed because as engaged as a lot of people here are, the value isn't really in the years and years of posts.

      There's very little in the way of historical data that would make sense to be concerned regarding losing, because none of it really serves any purpose (beyond nostalgia).

      When was the last time you (general you, the reader here) looked at a thread that hasn't had posts in more than two months? I would hazard a guess to say that it is a very rare occurrence.

      This is a great example of 'if you don't do it the way that I do it, you've got bad motivations/are a bad player' when it's actually personal preference.

      This is what I said. These are the two things that there is a difference between. This is the statement you challenged when I answered with apples and rocks. I'll work on my writing while you work on your reading comprehension, eh?

      Just because I choose not to argue with you about this does not mean that I think that you're right. So that we are perfectly clear, here.

      I'll play barring one of the few policy choices that make/break game for me; the setting enthuses me a great deal, and I'd certainly like playing it. Though if it's setup like the old games with tons of RL time invested...nope. 😄

    • RE: Health and Wealth and GrownUp Stuff

      I am drowning at work. There is no solution, it's just the meetup of Covid, the end of our fiscal year, and my specific job. All that I ACTUALLY have to do is survive the next few weeks in one piece; balls will get dropped (they always are), there will be at least three fires, and I will forget 2 of the 50 things I have to do (and they inevitably will be 2 of the most important things). This is all a reasonable reaction / consequence of what is on my plate, and everyone involved understands this.

      holy shit it still sucks though lol

      Best moments so far have all been failed rolls. Having my character snort in p public was pretty much hilarious.

      @Lotherio

      How about something for pre-approved PRPs? Like, if you run just a pick up scene or whatnot, it goes in the 'regular' pool. But like, allow for official GM points to be gained if either A- staff run as part of staff duties, or B- Pre-approved and meeting X and Y criteria. It's a little staff overhead, but a summary of a PRP (keep what you want short!) is way easier to review than a log is, and doing it this way keeps PRPs relevant.

      ETA: Bonus, it encourages people to submit writeups WITHOUT requiring them.

      ETA2: All the words are important.

      listening to somebody try to lead to a specific answer for a question in a group discussion, rather than just telling people the answer. "what should you do in X...." when what they really want to say is "in the future, don't do Y". One takes two hours because NOBODY IS PICKING UP YOUR HINTS, and the other takes two fucking seconds. None of us can figure out what you want to hear, but it's REALLY FUCKING CLEAR you are looking for a specific answer.

    • RE: Make MSB great again!

      @arkandel

      I agree with @Three-Eyed-Crow. Really all we need to do is have a sticky in the ad forum that says 'this is the rule: constructive like the constructive forum'. I don't think it's as much a case of even needing an actual rule so much as it is...okay, now we know what it's for, it's outlined what it's for, stay within that. The only thing we lack is an official 'do it this way'. The reason it gets like it does is because there isn't anything saying otherwise.
