I was on an ensure diet for a few weeks once. Wasn't allowed solid food. It was the most miserable thing EVER.

Everyone say something nice. She is being harassed because she told somebody 'no' on a feature request, and it can get tiring. Given how much she has done for us and our community, I think we should counter the harassment with saying nice things.

I'll start: Ares has made it a million times easier to start a game. We are seeing a lot of new, intriguing content now from some of these smaller games. It is so cool, and it wouldn't be possible without all her hard work.

We are now comparing this CSR to literally Nazis for a stupid comment that was made.

Yeah, so, I guess whatever you need to tell yourself in order to sleep at night after abusing customer service reps, but I am so done with this entirely disingenuous discussion.

Yeah, if you meant 'just doing as he's told' as the meaning you meant by 'just following orders', then yes. I prefer 'doing his job', in this case.

'It' is that there is no great injustice, I just happen to have a peeve, too. I spoke my opinion. Me speaking my opinion does not make for an injustice.

I'm old. I like to remind younger people of how terrible they were when they were younger than they are now in the hopes that they will treat now's kids nicer than older people treated me when I was the dumb kid answering the phone. I am now the grandma that asks about your day when I call in. It makes literally everyone's life better, and I get way better service, too. I have given up worrying whether or not they think I'm stupid. They don't care. They just want to not get yelled at.

No, he was a poorly trained kid at a customer service job who said something stupid.

Yeah, still going to go with 'minimum wage worker with upset person on the phone flailed and panicked and spouted nonsense when trying to get his job done' because ISP tech support is not where good money or good training is. I just think everyone has a better time with a little bit of patience in these situations, especially given the realities of the job. Should the kid have lied? Nah. Is he an underpaid worker who gets screamed at by Karens all day and was just trying to do his job without getting screamed at more? Yeah, probably.

And I'm sure you could tell people that if you are the one training them. As it stands, if you've worked tech support, then you know the quality of the training they got. He's just doing his job. It's aggravating as hell, but it's a problem with scripting and training. I get it's a peeve, but my peeve is people blaming tech support agents for the policies of their companies.

Yeah, you caught him. A huge portion of people say they have restarted / reset when they have not, and it will solve the problem. So they have to get you to do it without calling you a liar.

I have been goofing around with GW2 again, it is so fun. I seem to be doing better this time around. Last time I had to cry to a friend to come and rescue me from a too hard fight (thank you, you know who you are, still my hero). I seem to be doing just fine this time? I think I am getting better at video games.
