      For alts, I'm currently leaning towards '1 per sphere'. So major template OR minor in a sphere, but not both. Have a vamp? Want to ghoul your mortal? Pick one.

      As for Mage and Changeling having multiple things? I'm not sure. Part of that hesitancy comes from there not being a lot of experience with those two spheres on mushes. Changeling is brand spanking new and mage... I only remember one short lived game that had mage on it? And that was a few years ago? Squints

      That said, IF players want to make their own and get people together to do it? Come talk to us. But don't expect it to 1) be easy, icly or 2) to not get fucked with by the other factions, the co-op, or the players/npcs. Big stuff needs big story or it's hollow.

      I plan on most positions of power being npc's and have plans to handpick a few as people come in and things get going (as suggested earlier in the thread. I might be looking at @Ganymede. WANNA BE A PRINCE?!)

      I also have plans for npc's that can keep shit from bottlenecking in case rl eats the pcs in those positions. Rules for all of that are on my to-do list for hammering out the specifics of what is reasonable and what is not, etc.

      Oh, and as a side note, cause my mind wanders a lot: staff gets xp, same as pcs, when they st stuff. Dangles bait

      Code-wise, I think the only thing still needing fixed is the XP system. Yay progress!

      I gave notice before, and tonight after some errands, I'm going to start removing the old pcs and npcs.

      Starting work on going through Hurt Locker, the equip code, working on descing the grid up and finding places of interest to add to each neighborhood.

      @Ganymede is doing some pretty awesome work on the bloodlines.

      Then to tackle the territory system and maybe adding a 'spend some xp to reroll during non-pvp situations' thing.

      The problem is that ST's are getting harder to find. And -good-, flexible, non-railroady ST's are harder. Not -here-, of course. But on games, they're like unicorns and pots of gold at the end of rainbows.

      That's part of why ST'ing is so heavily incentivized on CoS.

      Base xp: 1.4/week
      ST a scene: +.4 for the scene, +2 for ST'ing it.
      ST a scene from +plots? Have another +.2

      Never be lost again. There's some fine tuning and renaming to do so the abbreviations for the map, the travel system, and the grid rooms match up perfectly, but we have a map!

      I don't know if it helps, but I'm taking (sort of) a more single sphere approach to the game as a whole? Rather than 'X staff is only Y sphere', it's more 'staff is staff, and some staff just know more about Y splat, so ask them about those specifics'. I agree that a lot of times each sphere becomes it's own island, and I really want to work towards breaking that down some, so there's less isolation that regard.

      Quick update:

      Old grid is down, trying to figure out the map code to remove the old map and begin building the new one.

      Finally got around to removing the old pc/npc bits - I dragged on this in case someone said 'I want my thing!' last minute.

      Lots of discussion about changes to the setting (increasing the time since the Fall)

      There's some alterations to the BL's happening, but seriously, they're pretty damned awesome.

      50xp? Oh heavens no! I had been considering like.. 10xp. Just enough to flesh out a bit or get that one merit that someone couldn't quite juggle the points for.

      With juggernauts on games, I'm taking a cautious 'less is more' and 'it's easier to add things later than take them away' approach to a lot of things.

      Slow xp gain, favoring ST's and trying to give them liberty and tools to be flexible and run what they want to without giving up all control of plot and theme. That's part of trying to avoid homebrew bloodlines, too. Remember the nightmare Reno had when they had to rip out homebrew wolf and put in real wolf?

      I do not. I've finally got a good idea in my head of what the landscape is looking like, and getting the grid built up and desc'd. Next step, for me, is finding a wiki guru to help set up the bones and templates, and working on some npc's and defining the territories more. IE: the worst of the worst live in St. Louis proper, and the zoo is in Clayton (a dangerous zone often avoided), the marketplace is in Normandy, etc.

      I am not real rulesy, so a lot of the BL's and such are being run through Death and Famine (Famine being crazy busy).

      I'm working on building up story ideas and hot spots for rp and prps. (I made a spot for river pirates. PIRATES!)

      Most of the code is in and working, just needs some fine tuning (like the +map works and has the right map, but doesn't track locations, yet). Sort of waiting on feedback from my rulesy folks before having an idea of how much cgen stuff needs to be tweaked.

      As for open? I'm not sure, yet, on an ish. There's a lot of brain storming and world building going on, as well as the data entry stuff.

      So, apparently there are rumors floating about that TDM is a pvp/pk game. That's not the case at all. I just suck at writing files, apparently.

      I will be working to rectify this with a mission statement, and statements of intent for the things that seem like they might be angled for pushing pk/pvp play.

      Started a google doc to begin the process of working out a Settlers of Catan-like territory system.

      I have a couple of goals: I want to keep it simple, or at least easy in the sense of 'oh that makes sense and is easy to remember/reference with a wiki chart'. I want to keep it off of pc's sheets. It's a lot harder to min-max for a system when it never involves a +sheet.

      I have editing turned off, but commenting is on. I'm definitely open to suggestions.

      On a side note, we have altered the xp cap to 75 from the daily payouts, to keep prps rolling after folks hit that mark. 75xp is still plenty to make a well rounded or a pretty sharp sheet with, in 2.0.

      Gah, I got eated by the dread Arr of Ell. I thought I was ready for holiday vending, but no, no I wasn't. And the vendor crud that laid us all out for two weeks. With 2 more weekends of vending and a 6 hour road trip ahead of me for the holidays, I'm probably going to continue to be a bit awol until after the 1st of the year. Just a heads up, we're not dead, just slow for the holidays.
