RE: Retail "Horror" Stories
Since there are no objections:

Yes, lets use our foot to push a skid with several hundreds pounds on it. Then be surprised when a second skid comes down and shatters your leg from the knee down. And nevermind the special pallet pushing tool that much money was spent on developing.

3 heart attacks and a dead body in 3 weeks. One of the heart attacks was a 100% blockage that second shift kept from trying to go home. He was airlifted out Friday 30 mins after EMS took him and walked in Monday to shake hands.

A casual wind storm that knocked over an empty 53' trailer and damaged another.

2 tons of soy powder mixed with water makes instant cement that took a crew 8 hours to clean with pickaxes and high pressure hoses.

The Phantom Phapper. Guy routinely goes into the men's room, neatly folds a paper towel into a square and jerks off on it. Then leaves this biohazardous mess for the female day shift cleaners to find atop the tp dispenser.

Suicidal Shithead. Another guy. He wrote 'Kill Me' on the wall of the bathroom in his own feces. Well. We hope it was his own.
There's more, but those are the interesting ones.
Bonus Round: Since I had to typo fix, here's this...
I work in a facility that routinely houses $250,000,000 in finished product at any given time.

RE: Staff Needed!
@Arkandel - Hmm. Disappointment, I guess? After knowing people can get through cgen in ten minutes from submission to approval, it kills me to see people on games waiting weeks for approval. Hearing about simple jobs sitting, staff being jerkfaces and losing their shit on channels...
I guess a lot of it boils down to wanting to give people a safe place where they can have the fun they want to without cringing like slapped dogs every time a staffer says 'hi'. So it's entirely ooc driven.
That's my motivation, in a nutshell.
Tl;dr - Being better isn't hard, and people deserve a safe place to play.

RE: Game Idea
I am Legend might be another one, sans zombies. Big cities are fairly barren and crumbling, small-ish pockets of people are banding together to make the best of a bad situation. I love a good zombie theme, but I don't want to do a zombie mush. This is also why I was hoping to find people to brainstorm with, since I have a hard time going from idea in my head to well written and planned out theme.
A little bit wild west, a little bit no-man's land, a lot of crumbling architecture and Things living in the shadows and ruins. I really like a good personal struggle/horror theme, and plan to have an overarching evolution of the state of things based on what the players do. Perhaps not as in detail as RFK had for their grid and systems, but definitely 'if group A blows up building C, it will affect the grid and plotline in a meaningful manner'.

RE: Game Idea
The 100 is a great show. The series by S.M. Stirling, 'Dies the fire' came to mind as well, but I thought that would be even more obscure as a reference.

RE: Game Idea
Theme is solidifying and evolving. Looks like it's going to wind up being very 'Fallout' and 'The 100', with some Mad Max and Supernatural thrown in.
The wiki is ugly, but it holds information just fine. (http://descentmux.com/index.php/Main_Page)
And I have the laptop issue solved enough I can start trying to move forward with code installs again.

RE: Core Memories Instead of BG?
@Lotherio - If there was an in-game mechanic so that not every Important Thing was visible to all and sundry, would you use it? It probably wouldn't be hard to figure out or put together (it might already exist) some kind of staff accessible code. Maybe just modify existing bg code to allow addition post-approval...

RE: Core Memories Instead of BG?
@Thenomain - I've played Fate. When it was brought up how some people (Myself included) can have a hard time filling in those details, that's why I thought more about a bullet point journal to compliment the Aspiration and Breaking Points already built into nWoD2.0.
I love those tough moral and ethical choices, and challenging pcs in that way, because it's often a more difficult one.
I started with Shadowrun 3rd edition, you could come out of cgen with a bio-adept and break Trolls with your bare hands, so I had to learn how to keep even hard runs from being cakewalks, and I did it by not challenging dice pools.
I like the notion of the journal also, because if you play rough with yours ocs, like I do, it might help keep the Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How straight, too, instead blending into a story and pieces being forgotten.

RE: Mostly Mage, Partially Descent Mux
For what it's worth: I hate mage. I hate what big games with insanely high xp or unchecked creepers have twisted mage into. (HM with Juerg, FC/TR)
TDM is a really low-and-slow xp game. .2 xp/day, .4xp per plotty/big social scene, with an extra +.2 for the ST. And 10xp from cgen.
I think out highest XP pc has, uh... 21? 22? And we've been open 2 months or so.
I think as long as we stay on top of asshats and keep giving people lots of plot threads to chase and the xp low, that mage will be alright.
I thought about it a lot and poor Gehenna had to spend hours showing me the ways in which it will be alright. And that's when I realized my problems with mage aren't /mages/. I get frustrated with the complicated language, and I have that same kneejerk reaction to how mage touched my no-no places way back when by it being allowed to rampage unchecked.
ETA: (Premature entry)
My problem with mages are the uncheck abusers that go around using Mind 5 to force really messed up things on people. My problem with mage is multiple masteries and masaive epeens (impossible with 2.0 and low xp games. Unless we're open a few years). My problem with mage is that 'I can do it all and you don't get to participate' attitude.
These are not mage-the-game issues. They are whole-mush issues and mage-the-player issues.

RE: Mostly Mage, Partially Descent Mux
@surreality - Upside: TDM is very small right now, so enforcing things like paradox and Hubris and the like is pretty easy. I pretty much know everything everyone is working on and what they want to do as a general direction.
So as long as the population doesn't explode, smacking pee-pees is totally on the agenda. For all splats, really, that bite off more than they can chew.
