People that want to insist that because some lazy jackass tossed a product onto the sale shelf that they should get the product for the sale price on the shelf. Ummmmmmmm, no. Sorry, you don't get to buy a $27 can of Killz primer for $15 just because it happened to have been left there by some other idiot. Sorry lady, but little Johnny doesn't get the big $25 Minecraft toy for $8 just because some schlub couldn't be arsed to put it back where it came from. And no, crying about how you're short on money and just trying to get your kids some late Christmas presents doesn't work... especially when I can see all the designer tags on your clothes and the Michael Kors handbag you're digging around in.

While you're on this, how about when you hear "Hey if it doesn't scan, it means it's free right?" 😄

@Arkandel Argh sorry I should have been more clear. Duck is a client for Chrome itself. Since I was just using it, it was on my brain and I forgot to add context for you.

@Arkandel Discovered by accident that the Duck addon for Chrome actually does, complete with right click to select the right word function. Which was nice.

I primarily use MushClient. SimpleMU* I've used but have never been able to get my hands on a code.

I do like potato, but I haven't mastered spawn windows yet.

From work lately I've been trying out a chrome addon called DuckClient, and I like it so far.

      Doublepost?

Before anyone asks, here is what I believe will make BITN different.

1 - larger geographical area. A multiple-county stretch of Maryland, not one single city.

2 - Limited PRP restrictions. Since we are not officially utilizing the other Chronicles of Darkness gamelines, we offer more freedom to our plot runners to come up with whatever is cool and creepy. Thematic to BITN is "scary unexplained shit" more so than "Nosferatu Acoltye" or "Autumn Court Ogre". So if you want, you can choose from one of our pre-generated Horror Stories, or even get assigned one at random (feature not confirmed).

3 - Attention to both Plot and Social RP. We aim to provide ample opportunity for plot-based RP, while also allowing players to create their own IC groups.

4 - We will fucking kill you. This is not our stated intent, but your character COULD die any time they confront the monsters.

Suddenly rules to survive Horror Movies comes to mind. 🙂

Plus some additional add-ons. If it looks like this is how a Porno could start? Someones gonna die.

Never go alone expanded to 'never go alone without a meatshield.'

    • RE: What series are you reading?

Several books into the Emberverse Series by S. M. Stirling.

It's a combination of post-apocalyptic & alternate history. All over the world at the exact moment some event occurs at the nantucket sound, that essentially EMP's the worlds power supplies, engines, gunpowder no longer goes boom, etc.

      Back to swords and such!

There is a connected series that deals with modern nantucket suddenly back in the bronze age, only their goodies still works.

    • RE: Lights Out MU* and blocking some shenanigans

I wonder if that's why I've been getting command entry lag spikes lately. I use port 2009. But lately I hit enter to send whatever, and it takes up to 30 seconds to hit the mush. Was thinking it was a router issue.

    • RE: Do you Tabletop?

I have in the past and am currently playing, yes.
Past Games: Mechwarrior/Battletech, Eberron, several editions of D&D now, Star Wars Saga, 40K Dark Heresy, V:TM, ShadowRun, Pathfinder Society.
      I've GM'd for D&D, Mechwarrior, and SW:Saga.

I currently due Pathfinder Society, the official play.
I'd kill to try PFS as a pure TT setting so many more neat options.

Rebel Galaxy on Steam is under $20 right now. It's been compared to Freelancer (with bigger ships) and player reviews say it has a Firefly feel to it. It's on my buy very very soon list.

Soon. I can start playing again. Soooooonnnn. I'm relatively new to it, I can attest Miss Demeanor is very helpful! Though forgets that I don't have the Lore and quests memorized, so is always hurrying me along. 😄

I want the Mechwarrior jacket package... just got to find out where to sell my blood, and maybe the blood of others. Got some souls in storage... if I win the lottery in the next 30 days I'd be happy to throw them 10K too.

      Depend on what you mean by "dark" maybe. I don't think Dropping Anvils By Night is more dark;

I suddenly want to make a PC who wears long grey bunny ears, carries a carrot and is a serial killer via dropping Anvils on people by night. I don't need the traditional giant acme Anvils either, they have those 35 pounders and lighter. Supply might be an issue.

    • RE: Putting out feelers..

@surreality All depends on where you pick in the state and what flavor you wish to aim for, but yeah. Farm equipment on ANY Street pretty much can sum up a large chunk of the state. But you were WAY upstate.

So did anything go wrong? Like a friendly neighborhood curious bear visit? Groundhog rush perhaps? 😄 Bad pick up lines from the local woodchucks?

So if you decide to make this a thing, count me in. We can develop a haunted maple syrup farm.

    • RE: A General Apology from the Guy Who Was Ashur

I maximized my laziness when it comes to logging. Since I still use mushclient. I start a world. I set up the logger with the auto-date thing. If I get alts, each alt gets their own world, i spend half a second renaming world and changing a name on the logger. Ta-da, done.

Now, to be clear, the one world for every log in started not out of paranoia for logging, but for trigger purposes when I was staffing. Certain channels I wanted to pop out at me harder, certain things had a sound trigger. Found out the hard way you don't want all your alts like that. So started customizing them. Pull out the triggers I don't need, or edit them to what I need for the PC.

Now I like the autologging for when I go "I know I've met them IC... and we did stuff. But there's no log on the wiki." Sort through and read, or just wing it. Whatever.

But yeah setting up the logging is so damn easy regardless.

Shadowrun needs to be a thing again. There should be a place where I want to simply just do casual Bar RP.

Except in any other game casual Bar RP is a bunch of fucks ordering fried zucchini and nursing burbon.

In Shadowrun, Bar RP is the precursor to fucking a global megacorp out of a few million nuyen or biker gangs rallying for a battle with the Triads while a ripperdoc sits in the corner and counts future profits.

I won't -always- sit in the corner while calculating your doo- I mean your chances of surviva- Success! I meant Success. I'm just here to support you.
