Having a day where I miss my cat more than usual. It hasn't been a month yet but I'll hear a song on my Spotify rotation and just sigh.

    • RE: Learning how to apply appropriate boundaries

Honestly? Don't be afraid of burning bridges. Weird thing to say, but if someone can't at least respect your boundaries, then they aren't someone who really values your opinions as valid. Whether they are 'friends' or not may give a little more leeway, a little more discussion, maybe there was miscommunication, could be a lot of things.

But if it's someone you don't know? I dunno, I've told people to go kick rocks for less. I'm too old and too impatient to play that game anymore.

    • RE: Good TV

I think I'm thankful I decided to watch SW: Rebels before watching The Mandalorian.

It gave a lot more context for things that are going to happen. Or potentially will be revealed in the Ahoska series that's being made.

Granted, if I get a continuation of Rebels in some form, I'm pretty content because I loved Rebels.

So, there's a lot of assholes in this hobby. A lot of creeps. A lot of ridiculously hostile and probably mentally unwell people, too.

That's particularly why it's so nice to find a good friend to play with. Someone you can have IC conflict with and just know that at the end of the day, you and the person on the other side of the screen will be cool. Someone who is easy to talk to. Someone who will message you when they feel upset on an OOC level (even if their feelings might not make sense), because they know that you two can fix things, and go back to having fun in game.

They're practically unicorns, but they're there.

      And I fucking love them.

@l-b-heuschkel Someone on here, I forget who exactly, made an analogy to "I only have this many spoons in the drawer."

I only have enough spoons in the drawer for that kind of behavior. And after that, steak knives will be what comes next.

      Whelp. That sucks.

Is the Shopping Cart theory even real, it seems like a kind of tongue in cheek this is something we see everyday thing to make a point.

That's more or less how I've always read it. Wasn't inferring that anything seriously be taken regarding it. I figure that a story written on 4chan shouldn't be taken as some kind of great moral and philosophical thought experiment. For something like that, I'd just point to the Ship of Theseus.

I literally posted it because I was annoyed that leaving after leaving Target last week, someone left a cart directly against my driver's side door and I was mildly annoyed.

But really, it's the people that say jiff instead of giff who're the real monsters.

    • RE: Spirit Lake - Discussion

I get the reasons for staff to restrict the number of players it wants. Or is able to handle.

Still can't help but think a little that it just comes off as elitism and/or exclusionary for the sake of being exclusive. The addition of alts does not help it, as background or mundane as they might be.

I know that's likely not the case, but that's how the optics of it strike me even if the reasoning is much more practical.

    • RE: Crafting Thread Part ?

@crawfish No, I haven't been checking my email every couple of hours for the two orders(one personal, one Arx cat related, and it's not even my characters because because mine are no name characters that nobody knows)though I will admit on a more personal note that I have just the place on my wall for it. Right above the Old Man's favorite perch on the back of the couch.

    • RE: Sexuality: IC and OOC

Mostly play straight male characters. Occasionally(very occasionally, infact I can only think of one)will I play a bi female.

Nowadays, I play asexual, mildly sociopathic male characters. Because I just can't give two shits about romance RP or TS anymore. There's very little interesting in it for me anymore. There used to be a time when I loved all the romance stuff.

      And now? Zero interest.

@ghost it's self selection and hopefully a necessary evil of the evolution of MSB that will dwindle with time.

Kind of like when you said you were leaving mushing/MSB, right? If you want to come back, fine. But there isn't really a need to hide it.

@cobalt Nice. As someone who watches Dr. Pimple Popper and the Toe Bro on my subscriber list on youtube, that is so cool.

I mean, it really sucks that you had to deal with that and I'm glad you feel better! But. Medical procedures/surgery/etc is just so damn fascinating.

I really considered pursuing a career in forensic science to work in a morgue, but ah well.

Doctor: So far as we understand tinnitus, yes. I would honestly recommend tinnitus retraining therapy in lieu of the fact that other treatments are still under review by the FDA. But there is strong hope that some of these treatments, once approved, will be able to help a lot of people.

Doc, don't do that. Don't give me hope.

There is hope. A new kind of treatment called 'bimodal neuromodulation' has been developed by a doctor at the University of Minnesota and is actively being used for treatment in Ireland and Germany. It's fascinating stuff.

@greenflashlight When my work hours got changed and I was getting up at 5am instead of 7am, I started sleeping the second bedroom pointedly so I wouldn't wake up my girlfriend, because I know I wouldn't be all that thrilled if it was the other way around.

This eventually changed when she wanted to change the second bedroom into an office so she had more room to work, which made sense.

I now leave tomorrow clothes in the living room and change out there, so all I realistically have to do turn my alarm off, slide out of bed and go do my wake up stuff elsewhere.

Though ideally, I'd still rather have my own bedroom simply because I think we were both happier with our own spaces.
