What you have to do is convince a bunch of well-meaning female players that you have a deep emotional connection with them, possibly by faking being autistic or some such, farm up your XP, and then be a complete asshole to anyone who dares to show up in your genre sporting a penis, so they know who the Alpha Male is, rrrr.

RE: Rewards in WoD
Things that give you significant bonuses on dice rolls are not that difficult to get.
Just remembering to mention that you've lit incense and/or that you did the LBRP before you started occulty-stuff can give you +1 or +2 dice on rolls.
Also, honestly, unless you're a damn good shot you're probably better off throwing that gun at a werewolf or vampire. You might surprise them long enough to run away.

@Coin Her new nickname is "Longshanks."

RE: Dead Celebrity Thread
It does. This is far from a five-star match. But Piper still looks like a man who came to fuck some shit up, from the way he holds his shoulders to the way he carries that bat.

RE: Dead Celebrity Thread
The best thing about the Rowdy one was that even when something was completely choreographed you had no doubt, looking at him, that he was among the last men you would ever want to fight.
This is a match with Golddust from 1996. Keep in mind that by this point Piper was well past his prime and all but retired, if memory serves:

And how do you propose to rein in players whose first impulse in any confrontation is to leap to the combat dice?

Again I ask, what "Crossover"?

RE: The State of the Chronicles of Darkness
What this speaks of, more or less, is that there's meddling on the executive level.
CCP didn't want to fully commit to NWoD 2nd edition until they saw that buyers were receptive. So they published products that were emphatically NOT a new edition (wink wink) and when the reception was positive, green light.
The responses to the new LARP book and the metaplot advancement in it were positive, so new edition folding them in? Sure shootin'.
I kind of feel bad for the Onyx Path writers. CCP is an insanely libertardian company and by all accounts it'd be absolute shit to have them for bosses.

RE: The State of the Chronicles of Darkness
As long as they abandon the absolute derp-track they've been on in the supplements they've been putting out for it too, let's do this thing.

I imagine people who weren't paying attention then saw it and didn't notice the date. It happens.

RE: Pugmire?
A mix of Crossed and The Boys, actually.
I'm aware he was trying to be repulsive when he wrote both series. And he succeeded.

RE: Pugmire?
@Arkandel I owe you no explanations.
If you want to read trashy, violent smut and smutty, trashy violence, that's fine and more power to you, but don't wave it around like a fan and tell me misogyny and rampant, cynical misanthropy capped off with a woman being raped by a garden weasel are barbed and insightful social commentary about catholicism.

RE: Pugmire?
If it's anything like a Garth Ennis comic I'll shank anyone who tries to make me play it.

RE: Pugmire?
I expect the cats put on a good show about 'WE DON'T NEED NO HUMANS' but are secretly mad they were abandoned.
-
RE: Pugmire?
Dogs (and other animals) have inherited a post-humankind Earth. The center of Canine society is the Code of Man, essentially a code of behavior centering on "be a good dog" and maintaining a religious vigil waiting for the humans to return.

RE: AD&D 2nd Ed
As new editions of the game have come out writers have done a good job with explaining the seemingly outdated technology of prior editions.
They brought the Cyberdecks (and the Deckers with them) back in 5E. I forget what their exact explanation was, since in 4E the advent of the wireless matrix making decks obsolete was a big plot point.

My Shadowrun GM would agree with you, he's often said to "get" Shadowrun you need to read the novels.
