RE: Kinds of Mu*s Wanted
@Coin I'm surprised it's not a thing after all these years simply because it's such a blank canvas. You could literally do a sci-fi mu* set in the now all the way to a far flung future.
Speaking of that I think an mu* based on xcom would be fun. Remember how you would die before you even got all your men out of your ship?

RE: Taking your ball and going home...
@gasket I'm all for saving things for posterity. I've always found the worst offenders are chameleons and will have someone that says "nuh uh!" regardless or they'll just assume a new personality.
On the other hand, sometimes you just want to go back and take out what you said. That's because you realize it was something you shouldn't have. There's nothing wrong with that; I think that's a good thing.

RE: How did you discover text-based gaming?
I was always the chick that people yelled at for trying to read and listen to npc's while on a new quest/instance. Everybody else would be running around knowing what to do and I'd still be standing there listening to the first npc.
I also don't like grind for loot games, so something like Destiny I just couldn't get into. Playing the same level over and over just to get the orange pistol of doom? Nah I'm good, imma just play the story mode, then send it back to gamefly.
If mu* were to figure out a way to advertise themselves better. There's probably a whole generation of potential players out there.

RE: Kinds of Mu*s Wanted
Damn, I was thinking about trying No Return. The concept sounded great!

RE: Rotating Theme
Well, I think a zombie scenario is a perfect setting to just throw random people together. Just about any highly lethal horror scenario really. But maybe if the arc lasted a year instead of three months, that might be better for some people?

RE: Evolution of Esos- An RPI
Role call for EoE!
- A male Nadu who is interested in sales, fashion and being filthy rich.
- A Kavka enclaved worker grunt, this could be a fun support role for someone with limited time but wanting to do SOMETHING.
- A Sergeant of the Army, Kaden enclave blood. Either sex. TONS of options for appearance.
- An Avasar, male or female, who just wants to watch the world burn.
- A Sundown. Hunter, crafter, whatever. Someone who wants to just LIVE.
All roles will be appropriately adjusted to their background.

RE: Where do younger folks RP these days?
It is hard to describe Second Life because it's like a multiverse that bleeds horribly into one another. That being said, there is a guy that built a Shadowrun Sim there and there used to be a few Dungeons and Dragons-like sims. The problem with Second Life is nothing is permanent and most things worth finding are extremely hard to find save smut. So you could find a well done sim or group that is completely empty or inactive. Worse still, you could find a lively sim that is full of people and you go there one day and everything is gone.
I create content on there, there is a very steep learning curve. There is pretty much no guide since there really is no way to describe it easily. You could argue, just creating an avatar you are roleplaying, but there are people that see thier avis as themselves.
Its something you have to try for yourself, set your own end game and know that other people arent necessarily playing that same game.

RE: Tips on Güd TS
Mine are:
-
Don't be rapey. By that I mean, don't be all grabby-handsie, "I wanna [insert weird sexual fetish] ....", etc especially when you first meet someone. More than anything it's funny and it happens so often, it's not even shocking.
-
Be descriptive, but don't power emote. Ironic, but 'nuff said.

Read some erotica. I frickin' love Zane novels, they're my guilty pleasure. Seeing how the pros do it goes a long way.

Damn, I wish I had time to play this!

RE: House Rules vs Rules as Written
@Sunny said in House Rules vs Rules as Written:
I find house rules to be a necessary thing. Most tabletop systems are not designed for a persistent world that has more than 5-6 people, and thus absolutely must be modified with that factor in mind.
Took the words right out of my mouth.

RE: Odd Mu* urges
@Auspice I choose "resting bitch face" characters all the time! There is just a certain appeal there.

RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
@TNP Welcome back! I came back to the game myself about a month ago and am having a blast. There's a lot of things to get involved in right from the start.

RE: Generic sci fi game.
I'm very much a fan of story arc games. Arc ends, new story, new characters. It helps combat those characters that have been around a while and can do anything because they have max points in everything. I also like highly lethal games. The old TSR Alternity series was a good setting that ranged from near future to space opera. Lots of play involved in there.

RE: RP Ice Breakers
@surreality It's really weird to me and I'm struggling to wrap my head around. I find myself needing to take a step back from RP much more frequently now than I used to.
