there is clearly a demand for it's existence

      That doesn't mean it's a good idea.

Or just go the Avatar route and set the location on a fictional planet with fictional peoples and places. You can have people of different races, but without the issue of cultural appropriation by using a specific historical ethnicity or country.

True, but that would require writing and reading cultural backgrounds. And people don't even bother reading the rule book for the RPG system they're playing these days.

@vulgarkitten I kind of. Kind of want to see someone justify their "why won't anyone TS with me" bullshit like they do with their crappy RP seeking crap.

@Jennkryst There's only so many times you can be set on fire before you stop asking people to set you on fire.

Bitching about something in any context actually conveys that something is worth bitching about.

Not necessarily. Just that someone thinks it's worth bitching about, or they're bored and want to bitch about something, or that they just like bitching...

@ganymede To be fair, arguing to the death is basically the entire plot. So at least it's on brand.

@cobaltasaurus No, I meant that action/adventure/casual/etc are all decent TS categories.

    • RE: Roster Characters & WoD?

@mietze I'd be very interested to see it in the same way I'm very interested in sociology research. I don't actually want to do the work or experience the problems, but I want to read the paper afterwards.

ETA: And from what I can tell it's not log in every day or yoink, it's yoink every day and pick someone new.

No, Sharon, I do not want to go to the gym before work. Before work I am grudgingly showering and enthusiastically downing all of the coffee I can find between my bedroom and my classroom. There is no 'before work'.

I can always just use a VPN, create a new account on MSB, and be somebody else.

This just in, @faraday is actually our repeat troll.

@macha In situations like this, good grace and decorum go right out the window. You send those screenshots to his workplace, you give those screenshots to your local law enforcement branch, you post them on your social media if you're so inclined. These kinds of people only thrive because of the shadows they're in.

This leads somewhat to my RL peeve of the day/week/month/year/eternity. And does not reflect upon anyone in this conversation, I'm just prompted by it.

"X, Y, Z needs to be taught in schools!"

Chances are... no it doesn't. It needs to be taught by parents.

Parents and teachers are a team that should, hopefully, print out a functional and stable human being at the end of the process. We're not simply a factory for turning children into gentlepersons with eloquence and good regard for their neighbour.

      We teach, you raise. Simples.

@friendlybee While the 'right' to free speech is exactly as you've described, the concept of being free to speak as one wishes can be adequately abbreviated to 'free speech' given the context.
