      I'll be a dick here, though, so long as people are going to approach me with vitriol and insults. It's a purposefully ironic choice. Maybe it's not an effective choice? In either case, I've sort of already committed to it.

      And if everyone else jumped off a bridge, would you jump too?

      Christ. You're not just a dick, you're an immature ten year old. What a wonderful representative for your site.

      @WTFE What is wrong with MSB is that we don't have the rules to the WORA drinking game posted anywhere. I don't even remember most of them. The only one that sticks in my memory - probably because it's the most commonly occurring of them all - is:

      Take a drink whenever someone says they're only posting for their own amusement.

      I hope that anyone with even a shred of human decency would be powerfully affected by Nomi's scenes, regardless of orientation or experience, so this shit is stark, but totally necessary and definitely good TV in my opinion. 👍

      Problem is, I doubt the people who actually need to see this are the ones watching it.

      Yeah, they didn't hide it. I had a lot of fun on 5W while it was going strong.

      I cannot state, for the record, whether or not pineapple on pizza is good, bad, or horrible as I have never had pineapple on my pizza.

      And I'm okay with that.

      The Stanford Prison Experiment.

      @Ghost

      Actually, there are no 'prison guards' at all. That's kind of the point of the show to a degree. The 100 get sent down on their own because they're expendable criminals (I haven't seen the show, I just play there). Everyone is also 18+ so no underage sex there either.

      And while I do find things a bit exhausting at times it seems a natural outcome of the genre and what's happening on the game, which is paralleling the show (though not duplicating it). There certainly is IC antagonism but it's not between cliques so much as factions. In this case pro vs anti Ark. Which isn't to say it's that black and white; there are a lot of gradients to each side. But the thing is, it is IC antagonism. I've seen few OOC issues between players. Surprisingly few in fact.

      It just might not be the genre for everyone.

      I'm wondering what solutions you think staff should implement. From the sound of it, most of these complaints are about characters and their IC actions and not against the players' OOC ones. So aside from staff telling players that they're RPing their characters 'wrong', what should they be doing?

      Let's get something straight. Mayo is good. Miracle Whip is good. Miracle Whip is not a substitute for mayo any more than ketchup (whis is good) is a substitute for mustard (which is also good). They are different condiments.

      @TNP Not quite.

      I suggested they ensure they have support for the 'strike off and get the thing done on one's own' thing that happens frequently on the show (because it has to due to the kind of characters doing... exactly what you're describing, really).

      ...and brought up exactly the problem regarding something involving a small group of authors and a collaborative group like a MUX, actually. 😕

      I stand corrected. I've actually only been skimming the posts of the people who don't/haven't played there since it's the 'I left because staff didn't...' has never been completed beyond 'fix the problem magically'.

      It is, though, refreshing to hear complaints about a game that is about purely IC behavior instead of OOC and that people are taking the theme too far instead of things devolving into a huge lovefest as is so often the case.

      And in the interests of transparency, I play Morgan. So by all mean, feel free to page me on game. We can work out backstory if you want or just RP. He only threatens to kill people who threaten those he cares about.

      I've always been a bit puzzled over the orgasms some people seem to get when it comes to bacon. I like bacon but I don't LUV!!!111 bacon. I've always thought it was over rated and the whole bacon fad leaves me scratching my head. Bacon flavored lube was the epitome of how crazy some people are.

      It was fun. There was a lot happening (often too quickly, especially to start), lots of RP, good players. Having played on 5W, I knew they ran a fun game. I was also expecting this, though admittedly not quite so quickly, as it's much like what happened on 5W.

      They're a married couple, they run the place themselves, and don't have other staffers at all except for code. At the constant, nearly frenetic pace they start out, it's guaranteed they're going to get burned out especially with a very young child thrown into the mix. It was fun while it lasted and that's all I can expect.

      Assuming the theme was something I liked, I'd almost certainly play on another game that they ran. And I'll expect that one to be fun, busy, and eventually close when it doesn't turn out how they wanted and/or they burn out. It's more like a tabletop module than a long term campaign.

      Definitely. Also, if it's not too late, get a screenshot of the website showing them in network.

      Whenever you speak to a customer rep, get the person's name and a call reference number. If you don't like what they're saying, ask to speak to an ONSHORE supervisor. A supervisor can do more than the rank and file and it's much better to speak to someone based in the US than in India.

      Also, find out how to file a complaint with your state and do so if you don't get told they'll pay it.

    • RE: Dragon Age: Dread Wolf's Rise

      Back when GOG had DA:O Ultimate Edition on sale for $8 or so, I mentioned it to someone who then proceeded to rave for 20 minutes about how it's the best game ever. Ok, what the hell. I got it. It's $8. It's one of the best games ever (and I'm so glad I installed the gay romance mod for Alistair because I would marry him).

      It came with Awakening and I played that and the other DLC. Then I bought DA2 which is very different from DA:O but also very good. And now I want to buy DA:I. And I'm not a gamer, as a rule. So go buy them.

      Seems Anders was separated from Justice and pardoned.

      If this isn't all but proof that staff are making a game to play their favorite characters and little other reason, I don't know what is.

      Pretty much. And on that Smoke and Shadows one, Anders and Fenris are lovers. Which is just... no.
