Another issue with environmental emits is the timing. You might start a scene where +time and weather says it's dawn and sunny, but four hours later at 4x time it's sunset and pouring.. meanwhile only about 30 minutes has actually passed in the scene.

RE: Development Thread: Sacred Seed
@apos Is Tehom willing to make that more public? I know you'd mentioned it as a dream before but it'd be awesome if the core stuff was made available (the where, bbs, mailing, etc)

Welcome to Cloria, home of the Sacred Clora Seed, you're a Clorian.
Someone from the middle of the country would they be referred to as a... Midi-Clorian?
@cobaltasaurus said in Development Thread: Sacred Seed:
But re: the latter, I'm not sure that all Seeded need to be on par with each other re: combat capabilities with their magic, someone whose power is to summon mist probably shouldn't piss off the crazy firemancer.
I think I may have worded that poorly but I didn't mean that all seeded need to be on par with each other that way, but that each Court should be. Or not.. but players can be terrible people and I could see antagonist sorts making a bunch of fireball throwers (in this example assuming those are the most deadly) and just trying to take over through superior firepower.

Are the Seeded not involved in Combat?
Some are-- those with elements that lean more toward combat (fire, storms, etc). But they have to have enough control over their powers to be combat capable. This seems to contradict this:
@cobaltasaurus said in Development Thread: Sacred Seed:
I'm thinking that perhaps they have magic duels, where they go at each other with their powers
It would probably be a good idea to make sure every Court has some sort of combat capable magic that's more or less on par with their peers. Fireball throwing verses someone that can make mist and rainbows wouldn't be a good duel

RE: What Do You Want In A New Game (3-options)?
Book series by Brandon Sanderson.
It's not elemental magic, but has the idea of noble blooded with magic abilities, etc. secret ways to become magic. Also has a lot of stuff with the magical bastard children of noble families. It's not that close, but has some similar thematic elements

#2
It seems very close to Mistborn #1 in a few aspects

RE: Health and Wealth and GrownUp Stuff
I've never even taken my diploma out of the envelope it was given to me in aside from when I occasional stumble of it and go "huh, what's in this envelope?"
I then think about framing it, look up frames, never buy one and then forget about it for a few years.

RE: nWorld of Darkness 1E v 2E
That @Thenomain said. Why I said Right or Wrong. System may not be designed for it but its what people want.

@coin said in nWorld of Darkness 1E v 2E:
I just wish they'd hurry the fuck up with Changeling and Sin-Eater so people can stop making 1e games.
This I think is why people still make 1E games over 2E far more than a preference for 1E. Right or wrong there is a desire for multisphere games and Changling at least is a big popular one that people want

But this is on my radar, despite my misgivings towards 1E. (I hate it.)
Is disappointing to see more 1E, but at least it's something! I'm not big on the Roll play part anyways so I'm curious to see what they come up with story wise

Instead of fighting for prestige it will be fighting for money to avoid crippling student debt

RE: RL things I love
There are not a lot of karate tournaments done around here, but there will be one in a couple of weeks. It will be the first tournament that a lot of the youth students will be attending and they were all lined up in the dojo and the Sensei was going over what to expect. He started off by asking if anyone had been to a tournament before and everyone said no except for one kid that raised his hand and proclaimed, "No, but I've watched the Karate Kid!"
There will be no leg sweeping.

With a deep CS degree and experience, she thought about doing things with Mux that I didn't think were possible. I learned more from breaking her code than I had in years. @Chime is part of unending evidence that you don't need to know programming languages to code, you need to know how to code.
This. I don't know who Chime is because I was in MUD world for years but when I started coding it was under the watchful eye of the game head that happened to be a professional software engineer who specialized in debugging other peoples crappy, buggy code for living. He demanded any additions to his code be up to his standards and I still try to live up to that.

I'm curious to see how this goes!
But is SF really called the Paris of the West? Is it because they both smell like urine?

RE: RL things I love
I was in the grocery store today and Sweet Caroline start playing on the Muzak system. while moving through the aisles I heard at least three people singing along. the two older women were somewhat expected but amusing. the college dude bro really getting into it to the horror of his companion was the highlight though.

RE: Interest check - Teen Wolf/Mercy Thompson MU
Are the tattoos on the lady in the cover art kinda like the hat on HArry Dresden in all the Dresden files covers?

RE: Interest check - Teen Wolf/Mercy Thompson MU
When I read Mercyverse I thought of something entirely different. Still would mess with Teen a wolf I think.
