So as just about anyone who knows me knows I am prone to ranting. I have a mountain of peeves of which only a few are remotely rational.

As a staffer and as someone building a game (no i haven't forgotten) I have changed my philosophy quite a bit. Instead of doubling down against things that players like that I do not like, i have instead started focusing extra creative attention, to implement these things i don't like, in a manner that is deep and rich and part of the setting that I am building.

Since I have at times been kind of a tyrant when it comes to certain theme flavors, this is helping get over myself in a healthy way and in a way that doesnt make me feel resentful when players through no fault of thier own have the audacity to want to RP things that hit one of my innumerable peeves.

This is not my game, but the game of a friend who has spent nearly 2 years on it, learning code as she went. It's pretty damned Awesome, and you should check it out.

We are a Changeling/Mortal+/Mortal game using 'Changeling: the Lost' v1.0 (okay, more like 1.5) and modified GMC rules. Set in Vermont, most non-Hedge play will take place in the imaginary city of Fort Brunsett and, atop the nearby cliffs, the small and far too knowledgeable mountain town of Tamarack Falls. Also imaginary.

The Freehold of Fate's Harvest is about to reach its second birthday. It is also about to learn just why the valley of Tamarack Falls was ripe for the picking...

The MUX is designed to be a place where players can explore the themes and struggles of Changelings reaching the ends of their journeys, be they those who chase their dreams back to Arcadian arms or those they leave behind. High Wyrd is as common as low, as are the dangers it invites. Either road has consequences. Are they worth the price?

                      Accepted templates include:

Changeling, Fetch, Psychic, Thaumaturge, Fae-touched, Enchanted and Ensorcelled.

        Seasonal, Solar and Transitional Courts are permitted.

All player-alts are linked to a personal Master Account.

Arcade Tickets are given past the weekly XP activity cap, an account-wide currency which can be traded in to purchase a number of minor boosts, items, private channels or even the chance to design and play a plot antagonist as a limited-life PC.

GOALS DURING BETA:

All Alpha player bits have been deleted.

The intent is to keep Beta short. Our current plan for full launch is March 20th, 2017, to be kicked off with the Spring Crowning event.

In the meanwhile, we want to make sure everything is squeaky clean and working as it should be! Beta is for determining whether or not our policies and systems are up to snuff, our write-ups are clear, and that we haven't, you know, left any great gaping holes for people to drive Sherman tanks through.

Big note! ALL kith blessings have been re-written for balance and added utility. Tweaks may be made during Beta if our brilliant ideas end up less brilliant. Feedback is desired! Try to build a monster.

@Bad-at-Lurking So I am, or have been this staffer. I'm not really proud of it, I'm opinionated as heck, but the lines between my opinions and the game used to get blurred a lot. I mean at the time I would deny it, but yeah. FWIW, I'm looking to do better in the future, but for anyone who went through that shit with me, I am sorry.

@Derp I see what you mean and I generally agree, but we've also had issues where apping into one sphere was a breeze, and other they wanted you to do 45236 detailed questions about why you couldn't tie your own shoes until the 4th grade.

For sphere specific stuff that is different yes absolutely, the process for learning supernatural stuff is super different. I think it's a matter of degrees. It should still feel like the same game, and not run into that one staffer that treats the sphere like it's his baby and no one is ever good enough. (Yes i also realize that that description applies to me in the past and I recognize this.. ahem.)

@Ghost Damnit I was gonna link that here. As somone who grew up with Andre and Undertaker, and Hulk and Macho Man, and Honkey Tonk Man, and and and... yeah. That was a good watch.

I remember waiting for the icecream man in the late 80's early 90's for those ice cream sammich bars that had the wrestlers printed on the bars and they came with trading cards. They cost like a whole 1.50 when everything else was like 50 cents.
