So I play a lotta GW2 and keep on on their reddit off an on. The Gaming Website Articles about the incident and what people talk about on the forums are so very different.

The Articles on Polygon and whatnot are very pitchfork-y

Price has allegedly been fired from other companies for similar behavior, and seems to as @Auspice mentioned, go off like this from time to time.

It seems to me (A mostly CiS White Male) that this might be the case of someone using the current social justice movements to give herself power and allies after she fucked up. Considering her history we also dont know how many other straws that were laid on the camels back before this one that broke it.

Also: She works at a video game company writing stories. Every game developer in the history of developing plots for the game, male or female, since the internet and likely before, has had people thinking they could do it better, and vocally explaining how it's done. So the 'If i was a male this wouldn't have happened' is, In this case i feel, grasping at straws.

@deadempire Yeah, run away from that person fast. There are a few of those people out there, toxic AF. I h ad one time where i was RPing with a person, and her IC boyfriend kept paging us both while we were in the scene trying to figure out what was going on. Paranoia and possession run deep with some people. It's mucho creepy.

I mean honestly, forget even that Blizz's Audience is a PC gaming one, Blizzcon is expensive, people go to that for BIG NEWS. They pay money to go, and usually the big announcements are real things, expansions and whatnot. They have skipped years because they didn't have much to offer that year. So there's people waiting for SOMETHING BIG, I mean remasting old games and all that nostalgia only goes so far. So when the big finale fucking happens and its... a Mobile game? Yeah, I watched the real time twitch chat response, even for people who didn't physically go, it was a YUGE disappoint for fans.

And then there were the people that started attacking the fans for being disappointed. Calling them misogynists for not liking mobile games. Then Blizz mass deleting comments from youtube. It was a disaster.

On Fallcoast we implemented http://fallcoast.net/wiki/Failure_Incentive but not a lot of people take advantage of it. It's only really focoused on XP, but i thought I'd point it out in this thread.

Futureman. It's cheesy and stupid and I love it. It's basically made for gamer nerds and folks that grew up int he 80's. Some time travel, touches of last Starfighter. I found it entertaining and I binged it all. Waiting on season 2.

My social group in MUing is pretty small these days, but we roll social stuff all the time. Mostly because we're all a bunch of terrible people who lie constantly. heck i even got a subterfuge spec for dealing with two specific people because it was such a web of lies and manipulations. I've used social dice for 'taking off my shirt deliberately sexily' and gotten an exceptional success, and the response was 'subtle checking out and side eyeing' and not 'forced into humping'. But I mean there's a level of trust and OOC mocking our own PCs and cackling at the terrible misfortunes. Which isnt there when strangers are involved.

This happened to me enough that the last time my doctor just ordered me double. Like their schedule of when to give me drugs and the amount I'm taking by doctors orders are not matching up. Aggravating.

This thread reminds me of another game that got talked about here that i cannot, for the life of me, remember the name of.

When i run scenes, the most I want/expect is for people to read about what is on their sheet/what they are trying to do.

The good news is is that the chargen that is being built is being built by Annapurna from Fates Harvest. But yes, this whole thing was a setback. The staff on Miami are a passionate group who wanna bring out a fun and engaging setting and game to play on.

@autumn Happened on FC too in changeling, we had a couple people over the years just sorta ride the channels an basically try to have the sphere read the whole book to them. Like every aspect of the game. And I'm not saying 'asking questions on channel is bad' but after a certain point like, go read man.
