A few gems in Netflix.
The Ritual is one of the best horror movies I've seen in a long time and When We First Met is a shockingly good little comedy.

@Arkandel Mostly because I heard people like bloodlines. The game could function just fine without them. But I know people like them and I think we could get some really neat bloodlines to fit that desert/Las Vegas feel.
I loved this game. Still have the books even. My group modified combat to get away from the cards but I kind of wish we hadn't. Great game!

@ZombieGenesis What's M&M?
D20 based superhero RPG. Has an SRD that can be found here http://www.d20herosrd.com/
My TT group uses Fate Accelerated modified a bit by Masters of Umdaar and we can make new characters in 5-10 minutes and be playing immediately after. I think it'd work fantastically for a MUX.
Been playing the crap out of Rifts the Savage Worlds edition and my group was wondering how much of an interest there might be in such a MUX? We have no plans of actually making one, we're just curious to see if there'd even be interest in this setting and system for it. Thanks.
This is just DC Rebirth rebranded to more accurately represent our theme. We have also moved to a new site.

Reality can only be destroyed and rebuilt so many times before it becomes permanently damaged, fractured beyond repair. The latest so-called "crisis" was too much for the DC Universe to bear and the walls separating the various multiverses have weakened becoming porous and insecure. The univese did the best job it could in rebuilding itself, in creating as rational a reality as it could for the beings that called it home. Unfortunately bits and pieces of other universes keep finding their way in, contaminating the home universe with things that do not belong. Beings are finding themselves ripped from home realities and timelines and deposited here in this one.
DC Elseworlds MUX is a game based on DC Comics. We use the New 52 timeline as our base but that is only for the convenience of having a base to work from. There is always the possibility of Elseworlds characters being pulled in from their native realities into this one. Our goal is to create an easily accessible game with a continuity to build upon (New 52) that also allows for players to play whatever version of a character they want (Elseworlds). It's a game where realities collide, where familiar heroes are often replaced with strange and unusual versions of their classic selves.
We offer a streamlined character generation system using the DC Heroes RPG as our backbone and the Comic Vine website as a means of minimizing tedious data entry for character backstories. We offer a number of "mega" grids (Metropolis, NYC, and Gotham) and a number of minor grids (Oa, Themyscira, Atlantis), as well as the option to add RP spots on the fly. While we offer a +dice system for conflict resolution we also allow and encourage consent based RP using your +sheets as a guide for your character's abilities and limits.

I wouldn't say I'm "working" on anything but I did throw up a game using Thenocode on TinyMUX for my friends and I do to plots on. Takes place in Las Vegas and there are some things going on with the Police Department, we have a few people doing things at a college, and the primary plot is taking place in a small community that is about to experience a great deal of horror. We mostly play mortals but there is a very small amount of Vampire RP going on. We get together for major plots on Sunday and Tuesday nights(Eastern Time) and do general RP whenever in other times.
I wouldn't call us a game, really, or open but if people were looking to sandbox some stuff on a small place(Mortals and Vamps only though) I'd be open to letting other people in.
There's a strong sect of people overall that hate SW and I think it stems from the absolutely horrendous organization of their books to be honest. My TT group is in love with SW. We've moved over to it exclusively. We currently have a fantasy game, a superhero (well villain, we're playing Necessary Evil using the 2nd Edition Powers Companion rules) game, and Rifts campaign going. We think it works amazingly well. Once you understand the rules, which the rule books really do not help with at times.
So I'm looking to go public with my first game in a long while in a week or so. Heroes & Villains MUX is a blended universe game(built on the idea that DC and Marvel are one shared universe but we allow for a lot of other character types). I'm gonna link to the wiki below with one warning: I'm about 80% finished with it. The theme and setting pages are done(I think), I'm just working on the pages for the Marvel Heroic RPG.
I'm posting early both to let people know that it is coming and as a fishing post to see if there are any people interested in helping out with such a game. Mostly I'd love to have a storyteller or two that could run a scene a week and some helpers for new players to talk to.
And while I'm not really reserving characters I would like to get an idea for what characters people might be interested in. Please let me know via PM if there is anyone you thought you might like. My goal is to get an idea if there are going to be any "hot characters" and find a fair way to decide who gets them. Some characters are taken, however. I'll list them below.
Taken Characters: Gwen Stacy, Mary Jane Watson, Superboy, Black Cat, and Batgirl.
Anyway, if interested in helping out or in a character, PM me. If you were interested in checking out the wiki(which is still in development) please see HV MUX.
Thanks!
As someone who has played every iteration of D&D from way back when plus a good chunk of the various knockoffs I have to say that, in my opinion, 5E is the best version of D&D to ever hit print. I think Wizards really hit it out of the park with this one. Now maybe one day I'll finish my 5E character generation and see about opening a 5E MUX.
We do this on the private WoD game I run/play on. Most players create a number of NPCs related to their PC that other players can check out or take on permanently. We think it works out wonderfully. It's added a ton of RP to the things we do.
I am going to have to check out that Wicked City series. I love dark and gritty novels. Thanks!
Well, it took a few days longer than I would have hoped but it allowed me to get all of the careers and specializations from EotE into the system so I'll call it worth it. For those interested in checking out the character generation/+sheet and my proposed setting/theme feel free to connect to the site below. Just keep in mind that's all I have there at the moment, c-gen and proposed theme/setting. I guess we could call this an alpha phase.
So, if interested, feel free to connect to muxmadness.com:1983
Throwing my two cents into the "enjoyable horror movie" topic I've found there are a ton of really good horror movies being streamed by the big 3 (Amazon, Hulu, and Netfix). Here's just a list of movies I don't think I've seen listed here yet.
The Blackcoat's Daughter
The Monster
Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer
The Woman
The Taking of Deborah Logan
Clown
The Ritual (IMO one of the best horror movies in recent memory)
The Shrine is a pretty decent flick
Prodigy skirts the line of horror but is pretty good
Coherence is more sci-fi than horror but was shockingly not bad
Deadgirl was bizarre but interesting
Contracted was another bizarre but interesting movie
Absentia is a movie where I hate the name but love the actual movie itself. Low budget but very well done, IMO.
I've watched every one of these more than once. Your mileage may vary, of course. Especially with the more bizarre movies like Deadgirl and Contracted.
There's also the movie Excision which had some good ideas but was just a bit...too bizarre for me...
I've never read Wheel of Time. I've always wanted to though. Might give it a shot this summer.
And yes! Discworld! That'd be a blast.
What I'm leaning more and more towards is tiers of starting characters so players can choose what they want to do. Young and up and coming with the greatest ability to gain XP, mid level with modest starting XP and gain, or end level with 60 flat XP and never gaining any again. This way players can choose how they want to play. That's what I'm thinking but we'll see. I'd still need to hammer out the exacts.
Bizarrely you seem to be using the code from my DC: Rebirth game...
Edit: Actually it's the code as modified for an X-Men game I donated it to. Just jarring to log onto a different game and see it since I wasn't informed about it at all.
