@Botulism I hosted and coded the game for you. I may still have a backup of it on my server somewhere if you wanted it put back up.

RE: MUs That We Would Love To Make (But Won't)
RE: MU Community Supporting Each Other. I don't think people take advantage of sandbox opportunities enough. Either from laziness, fear/anxiety, or not being clearly shown the tools they have at their hand. I think people are also afraid of the dreaded word "cliques".
I'd love to see a gothic horror game(Vampire Diaries, True Blood, Dark Shadows, etc) set up like this. Players could app into certain plots run by staff or other players either with temporary characters or permanent, whichever. Run through the plot then either create a new character and enter another plot or move your current character to something new.

RE: Potential Buffy Game
@magee101 It's a TinyMUX codebase and I'd be using the Cinematic Unisystem with some slight tweaks (mostly modifying multiple actions).
So I'm heavily leaning towards moving forward with a game based in Dayton, OH. I'm trying to keep things realistic, however. For instance, at the moment I'm the lone staffer. That won't stop me from doing it but it does mean that until I get other people to run plots there will probably only be 1 set day for plotty scenes (Sunday or Monday nights).
I have the next couple of days off of work so I'm gonna look into how I'd like to model the grid (which will likely be equal parts Dayton and then a mini-grid within Dayton representing a college or university) and maybe getting the wiki ready.

DC Rebirth
Decided to post this in response to the other DC thread that's formed. I've been working with someone on a DC game that plays off of Flashpoint. We're not quite ready for a full on open but we might be able to start taking on players in a day or two.
In response to the other thread, we aren't a Legion of Superheroes game and don't have anything specifically set up for them but there's also nothing stopping a group of players from creating Legion characters and doing Legion RP. I'd be fine with even creating a Legion specific play area/grid.
I'll leave our working ad below. If anyone is interested let me know and I'll let you know when we're at a point where players can come take a look.

Flashpoint changed everything. Realities were created, merged, and destroyed. Hoping to put it all right again The Flash tried to restore reality to what it once was. He failed. Things were similar but not the same. Familiar heroes and villains were returned but in newer, younger, incarnations. Histories and relationships were changed but it didn't stop there. Ripples of the Flashpoint would continue to be felt throughout this new universe. People would be reborn manifesting as versions of themselves ripped from other realities and timelines. Welcome to DC Rebirth MUX where anything is possible.
DC Rebirth is a game based on DC Comics using the New 52 timeline as our base. From there we add the potential for Elseworlds characters pulled in from their native realities into this one. Our goal is to create an easily accessible game with a continuity to build upon (New 52) that also allows for players to play whatever version of a character they want. It's a game where realities collide, where familiar heroes are often replaced with strange and unusual versions of their classic selves.
We offer a streamlined character generation system using the DC Heroes RPG as our backbone and the Comic Vine website as a means of minimizing tedious data entry for character backstories. We offer a number of "mega" grids (Metropolis, NYC, and Gotham) and a number of minor grids (Oa, Themyscira, Atlantis), as well as the option to add RP spots on the fly. While we offer a +dice system for conflict resolution we also allow and encourage consent based RP using your +sheets as a guide for your character's abilities and limits.

RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
Aging sucks. Specifically hitting that age where the generation before you start passing away. I lost my father this past October. My grandmother is in hospice care waiting to die. My mother is in a similar, though less immediately dire, situation.

@derp said in MUs That We Would Love To Make (But Won't):
Nothing has changed. This is still the case.
This is just an opinion, I'm not trying to be antagonistic or anything, but while I agree with you I also think that mentality needs to change. I'm not one of these "the sky is falling and MUs are dying" types but the fact of the matter is most of us in the community have lives and jobs and other hobbies. It's difficult to balance all of that with running plots on a game while also finding RP for yourself.
This isn't just a MUSH problem either. For me at least. I run into the same problem as the DM for my tabletop group. I have barely any time to prep an adventure. I spend a lot of time winging it or using random tables or something.
I think if people want to get the most out of the modern MU scene they need to embrace the idea of self-contained plots and running things themselves for themselves. I know that may be easier said then done but it's how I feel.

RE: Potential Buffy Game
Just a brief update about the game, I'm still plugging along it's just been slow. This week has been not the best week ever. I won't go into the gory details but it involved moving my wife's grandmother up to Maine and then said grandmother taking a fall and shattering a vertebra in her back.
In a more amusing sidenote, the city of Dayton now haunts me. Not really but my brother is a truck driver who was up to help with stuff and he left for his next pickup yesterday and where was he picking up? Dayton, OH. Also, I recently started playing The Hulk on a comic game that's not public yet and I discovered Bruce Banner was in fact born in Dayton, OH as I was filling out his wiki page. Funny stuff.

Infinite Adventures 2.0
I created a game, mostly for some friends but I enjoyed the theme and setting so much I've decided to take it public. We're in what I would call a "beta" phase. Mostly because we're small and short-staffed.
Realities collide in the city of Century Station. Century Station has become a nexus of realities thanks to an experiment gone wrong. Beings from other places and times have begun popping up all over the city, some with powers and abilities far beyond anything this world has seen before. At least nothing they've seen outside of a comic book or action movie.
Infnite Adventures MUSH is a blended universe-style storytelling game. Characters are ripped from their home realities and deposited here, in Century Station. We allow pretty much any reasonable character to be applied for here (Superman, Captain America, Hellboy, Buffy, the Ninja Turtles, etc.). While comic book characters are likely to make up the brunt of the characters on the game, we are not limited to just comic book characters. Any character that can be reasonably assumed to exist in our universe can be applied for.

RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
I love that we're living in a new golden age of board games. I hate that I have to dedicate a whole room to the kick starter games that I have/am getting. I just recently got my Gotham City Chronicles season 2 stuff and I'm looking at the Zombiecide and Bloodborne KS games that are coming in a few months and I'm seriously pondering building an add-on to my house.

RE: MUs That We Would Love To Make (But Won't)
@sunny I could say your rage was implied and I responded in kind. That works both ways. You can't just reply to something no one said because you felt it was implied, which I heavily disagree with, and then get mad when someone comments on it.
You keep arguing against points that aren't being made or discussed. No one is saying anyone needs to learn new skills or that anyone should do anything they don't want to. I think some people may be saying that some people may be more capable then they think or that some people may just need a little encouragement but that's all.
I can't be responsible for what you think is being said if you don't ask if that's what I mean. The same thing goes for whatever incentive or encouragement based system that may exist on a MUSH. Just because someone feels they are unwelcome doesn't mean they are unwelcome. It may just mean they misread the situation and maybe they just need to speak with someone for clarification.

RE: Potential Buffy Game
Just wanted to let those who were interested know that work has finally begun on the game in earnest. I've registered a domain and we're in the process of setting up the mediawiki. Right now I have someone making it look all pretty and what not while I import all the rules and RPG information players will need to play on the game.
The good news is the code work on the mux itself is done. I just need to build the grid and get the wiki up and running for the most part and we'll be good to go. I'm hoping (fingers crossed) to open a week or so before Halloween.

RE: The All-New Down With OPP Thread
@Ganymede said in The All-New Down With OPP Thread:
No offense, bud, but where did the fuck did you used to play? Because I created and played a fuckbunny and still struggled to consistently drum up fuckfriends.
Seriously, I must give off some goddamned dread aura of unfuckability, but even praying mantises get more action than I do.
I'm going to be unable to post on the forum any more because I'm dead. This fucking killed me. OMG.

RE: X-Men Utopia MUX
Ok, so it's now been going on 28 hours since I got up for work yesterday. This X-Men game got me excited, however, and I wanted to get some stuff up and running. So I've got the kernel of a game in place. For anyone interested feel free to connect to xmenutopiamux.com:2017.
I've put a notice in the OOC Lounge that reads as follows...
X-Men: Utopia is a game just beginning construction. We have a basic DB in place and a basic character generation. The following things are live on the game currently...
1: All basic MUX functions (we have some @chans, BBoard, +Jobs, Etc.)
2: Basic character generation. Enter c-gen for more.
3: +Sheet command. Type: +sheet (name)
4: A very basic +roll command. Type: +roll (die list)
Example: +roll 6 8 10 12
5: A sample character. Type: +sheet juggernautIf you encounter anything that doesn't work please contact ZombieGenesis and let him know! Thanks!
Everyone is invited to come and visit just keep in mind we are not a game right now, we're just getting on our feet. So if you just wanna come on and chat about the game or if you want to come on to help in some way you are more than welcome just remember; we're not a real game yet. But we hope to be some day.

What Types of Games Would People Like To See?
Two things inspired me to post this; the announcement and subsequent excitement for Stargate MU and the realization that we seem to be in a dry spell gaming wise. So, my question is...what types of MUs do people think might do well in the current climate(by do well I mean having, let's say, 10-15+ unique IPs connected at peak hours).
Games based on IPs(TV, Movie, Comic, or Game)?
Ghostbusters
TMNT
Transformers
Star Wars
Star Trek
More comic games(combined universes, single universes, games focused on an aspect of a single universe such as the X-Men or Teen Titans)
Judge Dredd
Godzilla/Monsterverse
D&D/Pathfinder
Vampire 5EWhat about games that focus on a particular theme?
Combat. Make a Wrestling, or Mortal Kombat, or Street Fighter game with coded combat and rankings and champions and all that good stuff.Horror. Kind of like Gray Harbor where you play normal humans in a world filled with monsters. I know of two or three like this that are in the works.
Erotic/Sex-based. Sex is huge on most games so what about a game that maybe doesn't put a focus on it but doesn't stigmatize it the way some games do? Could be any theme; fantasy, superhero(I know there have been a few done in the past like Flights & Tights and Super Perils MUX), sci-fi(I once played on a semi-private Star Wars game that had a major sex sub-theme that worked well for those of us who played it), etc.
Mystery based. Think RPGs like Gumshoe where solving mysteries is the driving force of the narrative. I think this would need HEAVY staff involvement obviously but could be fun.
Those are the things off the top of my head anyway. I'm just curious to see what people think other people would like to see and play at. For me, I know it'd get furry stigmatized immediately, but I'd love a TMNT game.

RE: Legends of the Old Republic - In Progress Star Wars Game
Slowly. I'm a one-man show and there are a lot of moving parts. I'm also trying to get it fully web portal functional so that's adding to the time.

RE: A Game of Thrones MUX Discussion
I don't wanna be rude but could we please take the copyright questions to another thread?
To re-focus this one: what things would people like to see on a GoT or L&L game that isn't being done elsewhere?
We've got some good stuff so far! I like the idea of having a minigame of managing a realm, some sort of global conflict to unite people, and an open world where people can build their own realms (castles and such).

RE: What Types of Games Would People Like To See?
@Wizz I wish fewer people would not get hung up on this concept. Get Ares, add a profile tab that supports PDF files(I can show you how if need be), have character sheets done via PDF with +dice support if need be. I'd play the crap out of a He-Man/She-Ra game and FAE works very well for it I think.

RE: Horror MUX - Discussion
Man, I'm very sorry I missed the alien story but I think I'll give the Prosperity story a try. My RP times are weird but it looks too cool to pass up!
