If you think Brightburn was simply "Superman in a realistic setting" well that's on you. Not one single trailer ever gave that impression. It was a horror movie with a superpowered antagonist. If anything it would have come off like "what if Superman was just an evil prick". Don't get me wrong, the movie wasn't perfect, but no movie is. I think it did exactly what it set out to do, however. It entertained throughout, shocked in places(though I never felt it used shock for shock value), and I thought the actors did a pretty great job. Everyone is obviously entitled to their opinion and mine is that this movie certainly is not a lazily written b-movie slash fest. It's just a fun horror movie that turns the superhero genre on its head for 90 minutes or so.

RE: Godzilla
Everyone I talk to who has seen it loves it. The people I've spoken to who haven't liked it are not fans of the genre so I'm not sure why they're investing time and energy into it at all.

@TiredEwok Why can't it be both? LOL Though, honestly, most games end up being 40% TS anyway why not just be upfront about it?

Aladdin was not nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. I actually enjoyed it.

Godzilla. Endgame was awesome and all but THAT is the movie of the summer for me. I can't wait to watch it like eleventy-three times in the theater.

@Arkandel Yeah, I have no desire to watch it either but I have no doubt it'll do well enough in the theater.

Brightburn has been my first pleasant surprise of the summer. I knew I'd love Endgame, I knew I'd really enjoy Detective Pikachu, but I was unsure whether or not I'd think Brightburn was any good. Turns out, I very much enjoyed it. What sucks is that it's being released alongside Aladdin and a week before Godzilla so I'm sure it's going to get buried. I wish they had released it last year like they had planned or pushed it to Halloween of this year. Oh well, here's hoping it does well enough to warrant a sequel.

For me all I'm gonna say is this; I've lived/suffered through the final seasons and finales of several shows I've adored that included Dexter, True Blood, Heroes, Lost, How I Met Your Mother, The X-Files, and Star Trek Enterprise(final season was fine here but the finale was awful) and I think GoT could have ended in a far worse state than it did. I'm not sure I'm quite ready to put GoT up with the shows I've mentioned above in terms of disappointing me in the final moments. In the end, once the credits rolled, I was okay with where we were storywise. I just kind of wish they had done a better job, over the last 2 years or so, of telling the story of how they got to that point

Hmmm, Cobie Smulders has a new show coming out called Stumptown. This thread has made me think about it in an entirely new light now.

Apparently Modiphius "forgot" that Game Kastle had ordered a bunch of the Vampire 5E slipcase editions so, after a year of waiting patiently, I got an email today letting me know I'd not be receiving the product after all and will be receiving a refund instead.

Warning for anyone who reads this and hasn't seen the episode, avoid Yahoo News. Huge spoiler right on the front page. Unbelievable.

@Bad-at-Lurking Ha ha. To clarify the name of the city the game takes place in is Cherry Falls. The game is called Blood Falls.

RE: Teen Dramaposted in MU Questions & Requests
It's called Blood Falls. They're hoping to be open before the next season of Stranger Things begins.

Spirit Lake and Gray Harbor might but they also might not, they may be college age minimum only. Both also have supernatural twists. Calavaras MU might as well. I know of a game in beta that will hopefully be opening soon that has a "Senior High School" for characters 16 and older but it's not public yet(also it's set in the 80s and is a tribute to 80s horror, people play normal people in a world painted by Stephen King so that may not appeal to you either). There were a few others that I knew about but they all seem to be closed now.
