I grew up with Tom Baker and he'll always be "The Doctor" to me. For the modern era I enjoyed David Tennant the most but got burned out by the end of Matt Smith's run. Never watched any of the Peter Capaldi eps.

Got called into work so I won't be around on the game till later tonight. I thought I'd answer some questions I've been seeing here for those who are interested.

1: Will System-X(+roll, equipment, ships) be added to the game?
A: Yes, I fully intend to have a number of subsystems to enhance RP. Right now I'm just focusing on character generation.

2: Will I be able to start as an Edge of the Empire style character and become a force user later?
A: Yes, though I haven't finalized what will be involved in this process yet.

3: Will you be including species X?
A: I intend to add every published species to the system and will be open to adding fan-made species to fill in for what FFG has not touched on yet.

4: Will you be including Emotional Strengths/Weaknesses and Obligations from other sources?
A: Anything that has been published by FFG will be added to the system as a viable Emotional Strength/Weakness or Obligation.

5: Can I play a bad guy?
A: Most storytelling opportunities are going to be geared towards "hero" characters as we assume that's what most people will be playing. We are open to players playing their characters however they want though especially if you're looking to help forward storylines and provide RP opportunities for others.

Those are the most popular questions I've seen so far. Oh, some people have also asked if I know where to get a PDF copy of the various FFG SW games...I do but I won't post the link here. I'll share it on the game, however.

For me, I've been a fan of Star Wars since the original hit the theaters in 1977 so I very much consider myself a fanboy and I dislike The Last Jedi because I think it's a bad movie (not just a bad Star Wars movie but a bad movie period). I've never once thought the movie was bad because "OMG, wimminz are doing things!" I dislike it because I think it's a bad movie. I've also personally have not read anything from anyone saying "Well, the movie would be okay if they didn't have AN ASIAN in a major role!" How about the fact that I felt her and Finn's storyline was pointless?

All of my thoughts are marked as opinions, however, and I fully realize that other people very much enjoyed the movie. Which is great, I'm genuinely glad for them. I wish I enjoyed the movie more but I didn't. I guess maybe the "cool" thing to do would be to go on about how people with different opinions than mine are racist and sexist?

Maybe you didn't mean your post to be as offensive as I took it but I'm just a bit tired of this culture our society has developed of "Oh? You don't agree with me? Well, you must be a racist/sexist/*phobe/Etc.".

Add me to the list of people who watched Bright and really enjoyed it.

It kind of makes me wonder if it's just an anti-Netflix thing and/or if movie studios and/or theater chains are paying critics to tear it apart.

Either way I enjoyed it and I can certainly see watching it again.

Well, it took a few days longer than I would have hoped but it allowed me to get all of the careers and specializations from EotE into the system so I'll call it worth it. My plan is to allow characters from both EotE and F&D. I think I have a theme/setting in mind that will work well for it but we'll see.

Obviously, I didn't post the address yesterday, I was sick in bed all day for the most part. Today I'm at work and tomorrow I have no telnet access so I don't see a point in posting the address today. However, I'll be around all day Saturday and beyond so my plan is to use today to write up my proposed theme/setting idea and then post the address first thing Saturday morning (around 6am Eastern time).

@thenomain While I strongly disagree on the overall quality of the film I did think they did a good job of making the Porgs interesting without shoving them down your throat. My wife loves them and even I thought they were kinda cute.

I'm still tidying up the FFG place I have. Been slow going this week as I've been grinding out the Global Event in The Division. I'm rearranging some aspects of c-gen and prepping it for Edge of the Empire careers and specializations (right now it's geared entirely to Force and Destiny). I should have it in a state where it is fit to be seen by tomorrow.

I ignore Rotten Tomatoes entirely to be honest. A worthless site, in my opinion. For me I find looking at the average IMDB rating gives me more or less what I need to know. If 100,000 people consider the movie an 8.X then I assume there must be something worth watching there (assuming the movie is something I have an interest in to begin with).

I enjoyed The Force Awakens for what I felt it was supposed to be, a soft reboot of the franchise. A way for new people to enter without needing to have watched the older movies. I thought it paid tribute to the past while embracing the future.

My problem with The Last Jedi is I felt it discarded the past with a big middle finger.

My FFG stuff isn't as polished as D6 stuff but give me an extra day and I'll see if I can get it do a usable level.

I've got a place a friend and I have been hanging out on where I build the D6 c-gen. Let me pretty that place up a bit and then I'll post the link and if people want to come over and discuss what to do with the place then groovy. I'll try to get to it tomorrow.

No real spoilers here but just to be safe used the tag, the move just let me feeling "meh". Parts felt like a slap in the face. I loved The Force Awakens and left the theater energized with my mind filled with possibilities...I left this movie going "WTF did I just watch?" Very little character development, too many throw away characters, too many characters just thrown away, the entire middle of the movie could have been gutted and you'd not miss a beat, pointless celebrity cameos, ugh...There were some good and great scenes but overall I was just left feeling...meh...

The good thing about SW D6 is some amazing fans completely re-did the Revised version of the rules and created this Star Wars: Revised * Expanded * Updated.

For the record, it wouldn't have to be FFG SW. Could be no system or Saga or WEG D6. I've got c-gens for all three.

I was playing around with a FFG c-gen system. I've been pondering trying to do something small, possibly semi-private, to satisfy my SW fix. If there were enough people interested I could set a place up for us to meet and discuss things or whatever.
