@bobotron No, those were garbage. H.E.R.O.E.S. and Transmechs by Crafty-games were really good though. At least I enjoyed the shit out of them.

RE: Action/Super-Spy Style MU
The Spycraft RPG was one of the greatest things to come out of the D&D 3E era. They actually put out a bunch of supplements for it to emulate things like GI Joe and Transformers. It was glorious.

RE: Action/Super-Spy Style MU
Very cool. I recently played in a TT game where we used Savage Worlds. Was a bit less over the top (Savage Worlds can be a deadly system) but it got my fires stoked for more. To be honest I'd love for there to be any number of games based on the 80s such as a G1 TF game, GI Joe, Thundercats, or Masters of the Universe (I fight the urge to open my own MotU game all the damn time).

RE: Action/Super-Spy Style MU
Slight tangent for fans of GI Joe, anyone here played Venom Assault? It's a card game that is literally just GI Joe with the serial number barely filed off. I love it.

I do remember that game and actually have a copy signed by the staff at Palladium Games.

Action/Super-Spy Style MU
I've been in a mood to play an over the top/GI Joe style ninja character. Anyone know of any good action MU's out there? Or any GI Joe MUs specifically?

RE: Good or New Movies Review
The movie Mom and Dad starring Nicolas Cage and Selma Blair was amazingly good, IMO. It's billed as a horror-comedy blend but it plays it all pretty straight. The movie may not be for everyone, though, as it does depict pretty graphic violence against both women and children. I thought it was a pretty smart movie though, I very much enjoyed it.
As for the stars, you get what you expect from Nicolas Cage. You either like him or you don't, nothing here is going to change that. Selma Blair, however, blew me away.
Anyway, if you're looking for a different take on the "zombie" or "mass psychosis" genre and don't mind violence against women and children I highly recommend this movie.

RE: Unnamed FFG Star Wars Game
Just thought I'd toss an update on the game. Still has no name but things are progressing, albeit slowly (it's not the only project I'm working on so my attention is split). Character generation is mostly done, just adding specializations and species from the non-core books as requested by players. Here is a list of things I'm working on in order of priority.
- The Grid.
- XP System.
- The Equipment System.
- Starships.
We do have RP happening and I may start rolling out some plots soon for fun.

RE: Internet Attacks? Why?
Yeah, I read articles all the time about cops shooting dogs for "reasons". Swatting or not it happens too often, IMO, and I live in fear of it happening to any one of my dogs.

RE: Good or New Movies Review
Jack Black has surprised me in a few movies lately. I watched Goosebumps on a dare but actually very much enjoyed it.

RE: Internet Attacks? Why?
@apu Oh man, that's a brilliant idea. My wife and I only stream occasionally but I think we'll still do that. Honestly, I'm more afraid of getting swatted and one of my dogs being shot than anything else. I'd be devastated if that happens.

RE: Internet Attacks? Why?
@ortallus By that logic, I'm fully justified for shooting someone in the face as he opens the door to his house because I got a phone call saying Dude X from down the street has kidnapped and is raping my wife. I don't think that defense would hold up.

I was shocked by how much fun Jumanji was. Very enjoyable movie.

Beast and Barbarians MU?
My TT group recently got into playing Beasts and Barbarians for Savage Worlds and I thought I remembered someone talking about such a game here on the forums...I could be wrong though. Anyone know anything about any Conan-esque/Beasts and Barbarians style games out there?

RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
@derp This is a peeve of mine because it's this line of thought that leads to people texting and driving. I've lost friends both to people who thought they could multitask and because of people who thought they could multitask like this.
And if I'm talking to someone who is looking at their phone instead of me? Yes, I do consider that rude.

RE: DC : Gods and Monsters MUX
Bizarrely you seem to be using the code from my DC: Rebirth game...
Edit: Actually it's the code as modified for an X-Men game I donated it to. Just jarring to log onto a different game and see it since I wasn't informed about it at all.

RE: Good or New Movies Review
I have very little hope for the new Hellraiser for the simple fact that it was made purely so Dimension doesn't lose rights to the franchise. We shall see though. I'm one of the few people who didn't despise Hellraiser: Revelations so as long as the movies tries a little I'm sure I'll find some enjoyment in it.

RE: Good or New Movies Review
Sorry, I thought saying it played out like a Jack Ketchum novel sufficed. It does get pretty gruesome. I won't say to 20, it's not quite on the level of Saw I don't think, but it's in the same general area.

RE: Good or New Movies Review
For anyone who likes horror, westerns, or Jack Ketchum novels (it's not based on one of his novels but it plays out like one) I highly recommend the movie Bone Tomahawk. It's available for streaming over Amazon with their Prime service. The movie synopsis reads: When a group of cannibal savages kidnaps settlers from the small town of Bright Hope, an unlikely team of gunslingers, led by Sheriff Hunt, sets out to bring them home. It's got a pretty decent cast too with Kurt Russell, Patrick Wilson, Richard Jenkins, and Matthew Fox in starring roles.
