Once again, the world finds itself at war.

Nazi Germany, along with Italy and Japan have formed the Axis powers against the the Allies, and the United States has been drawn in by the vicious recent attack on Pearl Harbor. As 1941 draws to a close, another, more hidden threat has emerged.

In the quiet of the mountains of Appalachia, a quaint town has become the center of clandestine attention from the supernatural world. A hole has been found, and things seem to be emerging that lack explanation. Even as the Men of Letters focus their studies on this anomaly, the hole has garnered the attention of nefarious monsters seeking power.

Will you join the Men of Letters in the investigation of this strange little town? Will you be a hunter, working to contain this unusual epicenter of supernatural occurrence? Are you one of the special creatures drawn to the power or are you a simple townsfolk, caught in the center of this secret war?

Taking place decades before Sam and Dean Winchester took up the mantle of hunters, Supernatural: Lost & Found is loosely based on the hit TV show Supernatural.

I like the idea, but have serious issues personally with why there is any surviving humans in the 'Small Town(tm)' if there's so many nasties out and about.

The food supply (humans) would run out really fast...

@Lithium I can see two easy explanations. Either something is keeping the nasties from making too big a mess (plenty of nasties are smart and scary enough to do this if it suitrd) Alternatively, it could just be a numbers issue The show suggests that things were going pretty crazy when their dad disappeared, there were noticeably higher levels or activity which just got worse. It could be the numbers aren't insane compared to what we've seen in the show and the Hunters are more likely to show up since there less activity to draw them elsewhere.

Man. I would play the hell out of a Supernatural mush, but the 40's is way too far back for me.

(Yeah I have issues with historical non-fantasy games: it took me a good while to feel comfortable with Marvel:1963 and I swear I couldn't go much earlier)

I got excited about this until the 1940s thing, too. I don't feel like acting out historical sexism, basically ever again in my entire life.

How about modern sexism and other -isms.

Is this going to be using the Supernatural RPG books?

I'd recommend the '80's. Because Stranger Things was awesome.

I don't really feel like acting that shit out, either, but we don't always get a choice.

Wouldn't the choice be to not play?

Although I think @Ganymede's idea to set it in the 80's would be pretty rad.

                        See what I did there?

@Sogan The difference is that in Supernatural, the boys moved all across the country. They weren't locked in to one small town.

If they went to a small town it usually had /one/ thing that was taking out the population for them to deal with. If there are a bunch of threats and the population isn't big to begin with...

@Lithium To be fair, the boys are hunters. This setting implies you'll be playing a man of letters, and they have home bases and nice shoes and such.

edit: oh or you can choose. Whatever!

@auunit: what's the take going to be on women involved with this society?

Like the show perpetrates on a regular basis? Seems like it would be in-theme.

                                  Certainly.
Do people actively portray sexism or racism in RP? Or is it always the unexamined assumptions that give indications to the power of the fully operational social roles and constraints the American culture propagates?

If I was going to do a Supernatural MUSH I'd just set it in like, the 1980s. And make it based out of the road house.

I love Supernatural. I'd love to play a Supernatural game. But because of the time period I'd stay away from it.

I would not look forward to having to deal with all the "-isms" people will feel free to "explore" because "it fits the time period and setting". Several MU* folk don't need any excuse to be more offensive than they already are...

I really, really wish that the Supernatural episode The End hadn't been a one-shot deal.

We are using the Supernatural RPG books loosely. They will be used as a guideline for certain aspects of the game but we will not be using the gaming system.
