Kinds of Mu*s Wanted

I know! Necromunda using Edge of the Empire's rules. It's so whacky, it just might work!

Alternatively, Star Wars using Edge of the Empire rules.

Looking at this topic late at night, I could have sworn it said "King of Mu*s Wanted".
I could totally be that.
-
@Jennkryst I'm starting to think of Deadwood meets Star Wars. Base it in a shadowport on the fringes of wild space where a newly discovered hyperlane links up with a sector that was cut off by a black hole or something. Literally Edge of the Empire.

I want a Dark Sun game that isn't a) a MUD or b) house ruled so heavily as to be practically unrecognizable or c) using some weird alternate history theme.
Just straight Dark Sun, at whatever point in the timeline.
-
... I wish there were still a Scion game.

This. I used to play the hell out of Armageddon MUD waaaay back in the 90's early oughts. Would love to see a true Dark Sun MUSH to play on now. With work and a kid I AFK for brief moments too much to play on a MUD where perm-death can happen whether you're at the screen or not.

@silentsophia Maybe when Scion 2.0 comes out in 2039.
Games I would play the fuck out of:
- Shadowrun 5th Edition
- Exalted
- Aberrant/Trinity/Adventure! (2nd Edition?)
- Scion
- D&D 4E (What I liked it...)
- WoD 2.0
- Fallout
Games I would work on:
- Shadowrun
- Fallout
- Aberrant
- WoD 2.0
-
Man, I'd love an Aberrant game. It's been a while but I kind of remember the system breaking at certain points though.
-
Any aberrant game would have to have an approval process like DM in the old days. Stat yourself and hit the grid cause anything more would be horrible given the lethality of that system.
-
If I'm going to try Evennia, I'm going to try my hand at either 7th Sea or The Strange.
-
Aberrant could be excessively lethal, yeah. Like it wasn't even fair the drastic variation in how much damage a PC could take and dish out. From 'Just a bit more than human' to 'I can bounce a missile from my scrote'.
-
You could try to balance Aberrant/Scion out a little bit.
Or build it all with M&M. Straight out, build it power for power with M&M.

Possibly. But I am actually very excited for the StoryPath system they are working on for both settings.
EDIT: Relink for those not in the know http://musoapbox.net/topic/382/fuck-wod-trinity-continuum-is-real

They have already repeated the balance thinking. So they won't be fixing it.

Random aside: I wish this was part of the MUD v MUSH dialogue sometimes, RPI or RPE or whatever MUD, part of the reason I found sticking to MUSH easier as I became an 'old' is that there are far fewer occasions in my life where my full and total 100 per-cent attention can be on my screen. It is nice to be able to turn away and spend a moment patiently explaining again why markers are for paper, not your skin or the walls or the cat, and if you need some more paper perhaps look on your art shelf or ask mommy, instead of screaming "NO STOP ARGH NOW LOOK AT MY HP DRAIN YOU HAVE KILLLED MEEEE"
MUSH is a +1 (10?) for parenting. I also have no opinion on Dark Sun, and this only really belongs here because it went off of what someone else said. ANYWAY.
EDITED: A typo was annoying me, I fixed it.

I'd love that too. I really don't have time to grind up a character and deal with "let's do ruff circlez dude" type rp.
I'm excited for the shadowrun 2050 that's coming out too. Shadowrun was where I really got into mushing.
I wouldn't mind an Alter*nity based mush either. Really versatile gaming system that was updated to d20 a few years back.

I mentioned Alternity to @NotaNumber recently. I really loved the alien designs for that game.

@Coin I'm surprised it's not a thing after all these years simply because it's such a blank canvas. You could literally do a sci-fi mu* set in the now all the way to a far flung future.
Speaking of that I think an mu* based on xcom would be fun. Remember how you would die before you even got all your men out of your ship?
