You can say 'fuck the humans, they suck!'
Look, it's racist to post a thread about only one kind's sexual biology. Where's the human-fucking chart?

@Arkandel If you're replying with actually constructive intent (toward me, not her), feel free to point out where you feel like my posts only have the value of being discouraging to her. That's not my intent.
I'm being totally honest when I say that I point out problems because... I dunno, sometimes people have blinders on about this shit.
I think you're missing the point here.
The point isn't whether what you're doing (and which I did, I'm not blaming you specifically) is atypical for MSB standards. I'm just saying it's unwelcome within the thread's scope - it was made for a reason, to address specific questions, which neither of us provided.
So why do it? There's no need for us to aggravate each other here. If we have strong opinions about an issue of which such a thread is a subset we can make a new thread and put our thoughts about it there. Criticism in particular doesn't make the same kind of sense when someone's asking "how do I do <X>"; it does makes sense if they're asking "should I do <X>".

@Roz Really? The very first question is 'what kind of tentacled magical sea creature do you want to be'? I'm pretty sure 'sorry, I don't' is actually a proper response to that question.
I think it comes down to whether we're posting on threads like this to express our views on this particular issue or whether we're doing it to support this particular issue.
I did the former myself; while I hoped that it was still helpful it wasn't, so I stopped posting further. It's fair enough. Not all threads are meant to be a sandbox of ideas thrown into the mix, and I suppose it does make threads harder to navigate as they drag into 20+ page monstrosities within a couple of hours in which many individual thoughts can be lost.
Proposal for MSB admins: A forum specifically meant for system design where things need to stay on topic; specific questions are asked and answers to them must be provided if at all.
To be fair ...
When I was underage, I had a fake ID and did NOT look underage at all. So even if a guy checked my ID ... well... so I can see a legal reasoning.
This does not excuse this particular event though.
From what I'm reading the same thing's happening with Tinder now only it's worse since that's explicitly meant for dating/hooking up. So if you go out with someone who claimed they were 22 and turned out 17 the lines are pretty blurry.
But yeah, nothing excuses this one particular (potential) juror. What someone's wearing is no statement of anything.
@Thenomain I thought at least CtL was scheduled for Spring 2017? April-June is what I saw on their site at least. Or have there been optimistic estimates before, since I haven't been paying that much attention?
Are you guys planning to use 2.0 books as they become available or are you only using the 1.0 versions anyway? I'm referring to things like updated Bloodlines, Kiths, etc.
@Ghost The entire point of wikis is that while they can be defaced reverting to earlier versions is also effortless.
So assuming any information offered is voluntary by the rules (i.e. say, you can only add your own past alts/games and not other people's) I don't see a problem. If I don't want you to know I used to play Fucktard Johnson on TR then I don't need to list him.
@ThatGuyThere If it helps, I wasn't drinking well before I became a MUSHer. Or smoke. I don't drink coffee either.
Don't judge me.
@Three-Eyed-Crow I know this makes me a social pariah but I don't really drink. No reason for it, I just.. I don't like the taste of beer and and I'm only okay with certain wines. Anything stronger just grosses me out a bit.
So I've been the designated driver my whole life. Meh!
I'm surprised that (or I missed it if) no one has mentioned out of habit as a reason.
I mean I could find something else to do with my occasional free time in the evenings which scratches similar itches - some writing, creativity, isn't dependent on twitch reflexes, is kinda social, etc.
For instance there are table-top games I could be playing iRL, board games offered online, D&D campaigns over Skype or even the web, MMOs as @Scissors already mentioned... but I'm a long time MU*er, so that's something I'm just used to doing.

So here's the first questions:
- Y'all are going to make me make cephalopods of some kind under that umbrella, aren't you. (There are already sirens and mermaids and a few other mer-things, some sparkle-shiny and some shuddersome and creepy.) If you want to be a tentacled creature (of the deep, not hentai), express your wants in that direction here.
I think I've mentioned over this part, but... make sure you're not segmenting your playerbase. If mer-things and humans can't both go to certain places (such as an underwater bar) then it's a problem.
Also, how much realism are you going for here? For example - language. Underwater sentient people wouldn't have developed the same kind of speech landwalkers have for obvious reasons, and possibly their weapons, civilization (do they have writing?), fashion, etc. Are you interested in exploring these things? How much is beyond the game's scope?
Otherwise maybe introduce a cultural state of animosity - fantasy racism and old vendettas can make a game world come to life.

The Reach: I think my first character was Miyah? Main was Alicia (Geist) I think I made one more before it closed down but don't remember.
Hah, I remember Alicia.
Sometimes you were a pain in the ass, but I never thought it was intentional and it could have been circumstantial, so that's good at least.
@Paris Either a game will support every possible sphere which has drawbacks of its own or it will run into people who really dig whatever splat wasn't included for whatever reason.
You can't please everyone, so you might as well run the best game you can with the choices you made.
I play where I know or hope good people already are, they're active, and staff are mostly sane.
It's probably not a great answer but it's true. Unless the theme is very niche to me (dunno, a My Little Pony place) I don't even care that much about anything else. If a player or players I already like invited me tomorrow and I wasn't engaged anywhere else - since I'm really bad at managing multiple characters - I'd just go play wherever.
@BobGoblin Numenera is fascinating.
