Hey Texas when I said I wanted cooler weather I didn't mean go from upper 90s to lower 50s in the space of 24 hours.

RE: Health and Wealth and GrownUp Stuff
Hey more on OpenPath being awesome.
They contacted me after I signed up to verify that I qualified since I have insurance and I briefly panicked. I explained that yes, I do, but my insurance is one of those '20% after deductible' types for mental health and ha ha I can in no way afford to pay full market cost up front rn (that's like $200+ a visit). They assured me that yes, I absolutely qualify and they just have to double check.
So yes, pro service. Totally recommend.

@thesuntsar HT made me a dragon based on Nathan Fillion characters with Johnny Cash voice so I always 100%.

I don't have a pic of the work setup, but my desk has adjustable arm mounts that hold the monitors wherever you want them. I have them meet over my laptop screen as a unified continuous field, because anything else is clearly wrong.
That's how I do it at work exceeeeeeeept there's like, a half-inch of overlap because the arms aren't high enough.

@Auspice When I get home and can clean a little, I'll post the desk of doom. Sadly, I can't get the support joists in a shot because the room is to small for the distance. Thing is falling apart here and there after a decade but damn if I don't patch the shit out of it.
I had a desk like that for a while. I loved that desk. But eventually I had to just give up and let it go. It had so many L-brackets holding it together in the end.

RE: Derbyshire Estate
I picked up Ivy. Theme looks interesting and I wanted to play the girl who plays with dead things.
...probably (definitely) inspired by the book series I'm reading rn.

Boss's Day.
I just got an email about it from one of my coworkers about pooling together money for our two manager's.
Why? Why does this bullshit "holiday" exist?
doesn't sound like a real holiday to me.
Sounds like your coworkers have a bit of stockholm syndrome going.
No. It's definitely a thing. It's on October 16th. There's a line of Hallmark cards and everything, despite it violating the usual office etiquette of gifting down rather than up.
Ugh.
Super gross.I can see, say, getting your boss something as a group for their birthday (esp if they're a good boss)... But not for something as dumb as 'Boss' Day.' Esp since none of the other arbitrary days have I ever been gifted something by a boss other than to have them go 'hurr hurr did you hear it's <insert day here>?'

Except for those weird Crones.
They need VampChurch the most.
They may need it the most but I'm not dealing with their temper tantrums to force them to it.
They have to come of their own choices.

RE: NOLA: The Game That Care Forgot
My vampeer is also approved now. I'll get my WoD legs back slowly.
VampChurch is mandatory. Except for those weird Crones.

Also.
I'm not allowed to RP again until I grade the damn pile of essays on my plate.
I hate essays guys. I hate them. Even if they're only one paragraph long. I. hate. them.
Never did ELA, but did you ever try this method?

RE: Health and Wealth and GrownUp Stuff
Took another day off work.
Can afford it. Barely but can.Mostly I'm just trying to actually listen to my body for once rather than pushing myself too hard. I feel better but not a ton better and I know an extra day of taking it easy will do me good.
Also: this is the first time I've ever had the whole suite of sick symptoms (coughing, congested, body aches, etc etc etc...) and my temperature has been really low. A whole 97.1! Really putting the cold in cold.

It takes my Macbook like, 30 seconds to load everything again.
...is that really that terrible a wait??

YES. SHARE YOUR SETUPS.
I love seeing peoples' desks, I won't lie.
Bah! My desk looked clean until I saw yours
I am obsessive over a clean desk.
I'd say 'That was taken right after I setup the desk' (which it was), but two days later, it still looks that way. Only difference is that I have a water bottle on it rn. -
RE: What's your monitor setup?
I did just get a new desk (because my cat broke the main support on my old one):

when I reboot my Mac, it remembers what programs I had open and relaunches them for me.
Get your fuckin' Windows to do that....why?
Because I have ADD and a bad memory and don't always remember what I had going on? So it's nice that it gets me back to what I was doing without me flailing around feeling lost.

For all the 'hurr durr get a real OS' people:

RE: What's your monitor setup?
@gryphter said in What's your monitor setup?:
At work I put my laptop on a dock and it becomes my main monitor, with two additional monitors added on. At home the work laptop gets plugged into one extra screen, its screen remaining the main, and I'll have my personal computer also running on the desk. All the screens, all the computers.
I'm still sorting out my work setup, tbh. I haul my laptop to meetings too often to just close the lid and use the two monitors, so I absolutely count as 'three monitors' at work, but currently I have the 'upper left' (I guess you could say?) set as the primary, but that means all my windows freak out when I get back to my desk and plugin. So I might just do as you are.
At home, my left is absolutely my primary and my arrangement is usually:
Potato + Discord on the left, plus secondary (usually has stuff like PDFs, teaching cert stuff, etc) Chrome
Primary Chrome + whatever I might be watching or playing on the right -

@Seamus I have 2 but i think 4 is my goal.
3 is my goal but even with my new desk I'm not sure how I'd ever get there. I guess wall mounts?
