What? Five Guys here in Columbus are bland burgers at an insane price. It's like they want to be In & Out Burger but can't manage being as good, varied, or well-priced.

Over here in Dayton, the burgers are under $5. How this qualifies as being as expensive as a restaurant is beyond me.

Considering there was a pub in Sharonville (when I lived there...) where on Wednesdays I could get a baller burger for $4...

Sort of tempted to move my hours today just to get some extra rest in. May not be a terrible idea.

The ever glorious 'bowel obstruction.' Having an NGT (tube from nose to stomach) is near the top of my 'worst experiences' list.

Due to birth defects, I have... complicated intestines. No abdominal wall lining. At least one malrotation. I suffer a lot of stomach issues, but that was the least fun of all.

Upside: I think I can get through without needing to get myself to the ER.

Downside: I'm having a hard time even keeping down water.

Thankfully, I got a coworker to cover most of my shift today, so in a short bit I can just crawl back into bed.

That's how I see the Shadowhunters one. Or how I see medieval-esque themes where 'Women rarely enter these roles, so it's an allowed concept, but it might net you some difficulties with NPC authority figures.'

Those can be a lot of fun. I like strife in my story. My character has to overcome prejudice? Gimme!

But yes, when it's more: you cannot play this there's no way that would evar be allowed... then I'm out. Give people the opportunity, but make sure they understand that they may face IC backlash for it. I've done that on games and had an -awesome- time of it.

Well, most of the people who would be side-eye/disapproving of someone being gay (a hunter being gay, that is) are the Clave / people's parents/older relatives.

So it'd be there. It could come into play depending on how story goes. But it'd mostly be in peoples' backgrounds or potentially pop up with NPCs/story at some point.

Which means in day-to-day, you very well may not see it much / at all because most PC Hunters are more likely to be the younger, less bigoted types.

Well, I know it used to leave the on screen keyboard there regardless of external. So... my guess is it may still just be ongoing tweaks?

I paid the full $5 when I got it. I've also spent some money in-game (for the deal packages for themes). It's a good, fun game, and it's regularly being updated. They also, when updating roles, take user feedback into consideration (usually via polls).

Town of Salem is about $2.50 on Steam right now.
It's one of my favorite games. Will run on any system.

Well! I've not made a character yet, so applications to be my lesbian^ aren't yet open.

^this is a reference to David Willis' comics. One char calls her girlfriend 'my lesbian.' So, y'know, inb4 someone gets upset at me. Just bein' silly folks.

Ahem. All that said - yeah, it may not be a comfortable place for some. I get that. But I also, having read the first 3 (or maybe 4?) books... like @TNP said, the Clave is hella old fashioned. Like the city the Hunters live in is basically 1600s era Italy (or similar; been a handful of years since I read said books) and the older generation very much lives that way. It's part of why some of the main characters, I think, rebel in the ways they do (partying, etc.).

So I also think that you're not going to be as inclined to see a lot of lashback IC since it is the older generation like that and not the younger.

(And I'll be totally honest. I'm kinda considering playing a lesbian Shadowhunter who is stuck in an arranged marriage/engagement... Anyone wanna play the poor guy stuck with her? >.>)
