@Three-Eyed-Crow
Gotham is good. You just have to look at it as a reboot/retool of the Batman mythos and origin point, not nitpick it with comic comparisons.

Mostly because Fox carries ratings internally in a different manner than other networks, IIRC. There are particular target demographics and particular ratings that Fox looks at for specific nights, and neither of those shows met those needs.With the glut of other sci-fi shows on broadcast TV, these have a much better chance of working out in the long run.

Huh.Both of those look pretty good. Could be good. Hopefully Fox doesn't screw them over. Of course, they kept Gotham going, and it had wobbly episodes, so...

RE: Larger Scenes!
@Roz
Yeah; I get that. I wasn't super clear; I meant to add 'usually, I'll put a start time, with a time for business to start, so people can show up and not be actually late to the important stuff' . -
RE: Larger Scenes!
I have really had no problem with a history of big scenes, primarily either big meetings on faction-divided MU*s (and many times as a fachead) or big combat scenes. I feel like the natural progression for big sceneslike that tends to always be 'divided up smaller groups socializing/meeting' and 'fachead/important guy saying stuff'. And in combat, it was almost always 'X people pairing off in a fight' unless someone was masochistic (or just plain powerful enough) to volunteer for 2- and 3-on-1 battles.
I am one of those weird ones though that, I feel like the social component is important before the infodump. For example, when I run Vampire court as our NPC Prince for the LARP, I have the time set of 'court will start at X, be there some time before' to allow for the social element; it's usually going to be social element tied to what the meeting will be about anyway (Clan and individual territory requests, reports on what you've been doing with city-wide issues, etc.).
I did this the same way when I was a fachead on Transformers and Megaman MU*s, which allowed for divisions within the military to get their stuff together among themselves before presenting it to the leader or faction as a whole.

I find templating to be useful, if only to prevent RAINBOW VOMIT CHARACTER PAGES. -

@The-Tree-of-Woe
Salubri? That could be interesting.I wonder, is it possible to have multiple copies of the Steam install so I could have one with patch 9.3, one with Cam and one with Final Nights?

@Admiral
Funny. Our Masquerade LARP convention game from a couple weeks ago was set in Austin during the SxSW festival. -

@DarkDeleria
This is exactly what I did for my game. I stole the rough layout of Stockton, upsized it to what I needed, removed aspects of real Stockton I didn't need and fictionalized it heavily, and dropped Queens Point in place of it in the San Joaquin Valley there.I was more stating that, people who talk about wanting major metropolitan areas, I agree with you, you can take it and fictionalize it to your heart's content.

RE: Recipes!
Because I made it tonight...
Steak with Red Wine Sauce
2 8oz. steaks, cut into half (four 4oz. steaks)
1/2 cup chopped carrots or baby carrots
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
1 cup beef broth
1 cup dry red wine (I used a pinot noir)
1tbsp. tomato paste
1tsp. Seasoned salt, 1/2 tsp. thyme, 1tsp. onion powder, 2tsp. garlic/pepper seasoning.Cut steaks in half so you have 4 steaks.
In a plate (I use a deep glass plate, like a pie plate), mix all dry ingredients and coat steak with them; one set of the above will coat one set of 2 steaks.
Heat a little olive oil in a skillet (I use cast iron) and fry the steaks until brown, about 5 minutes on both sides; this will leave them medium to medium-rare in the middle, depending on what you like.
Remove the steaks and deglaze the pan with a little bit of the wine.
Sautee the vegetables, about 2 mminutes in the deglaze.
Add the broth, tomato paste, rest of the wine, three pinches of kosher salt and some ground black pepper (I used three cranks of our pepper grinder, so exact, I KNOW!)
Simmer all this together for 7 minutes.
Add meat and any juices to pan, simmer for 8 more minutes as sauce reduces and thickens. Meat will cook to a medium/medium-well. You can add the meat later in the simmering process and it will retain more of it's rareness. -
RE: A Platform For Experiments
Hopefully you can make it work. You'll want to advertise other places than JUST WORA though to see how much you can stress test it. A friend of mine runs a game on a MU* very similar setup (though only TT OWoD) and it just seems... very dead, because of lack of people on board.
Awesome job though, integrating all that much stuff.

Probably the same ad usual. Back up your saves and patch with the new patch, of your choice. I have 9.1 right now and am debating the cam edition mod too. -
RE: [Ethnicity Thread] Who Do You Think You Are?
@2mspris
My mom was really into genealogy. My cousin inherited all of the big binders of family history stuff when she passed on, as my cousin is really into it too.On her side we have German, Dutch and Irish, with Cherokee as a not too recent addition (I'm 1/16th, my greatx3 grandmother was full Cherokee). On my dad's side we have French and English. IIRC we'd traced some of the stuff on her father's side back to the the early 1600s (I should really ask my cousin what else she's found) and my dad's French and German ancestry back to earlier than that (though I can't recall how far,.

To kick-start the conversation here's a question: Do you TS? If so, why? If not, why not?
I have before, when I was muuuuch younger during the IRC RPG days. I always found that it led to extreme creepiness. Full admittance, I bounce between male and female characters all the time, and this has led to some natural RP back in the day that led to potential sexitimes. So I went with it. Later on, when people found out I was a dude RL, it got people freaked the fuck out (this was before I was comfortable with my sexuality and being gay).
Nowadays, I don't TS. I can do sexually-charged RP and sexual themes (and have done so, ranging from the extremely incestuous Ventrue lineage my first LARP PC was part of, to my current Toreador who shamelessly hits on all of our local Gangrel chicks). I just don't find TS to add much to my RP (and most of the games I played on in the past years, TS wasn't a thing, or was mostly verboten).
