You can find me as Lys on Arx if you're looking for me. At least for now. I'm a busy girl.

@scar hmm. Can you workshop the idea a little with me? I really like the idea of someone who thinks their voice is cursed... (I apologize for slowness on uptake of theme, I worked 12hrs on like 3hrs of sleep cause it was national championship last night.)

@scar @Tat Would this be too dark of a concept? I'm thinking of a musician who rarely speaks and never, ever sings anymore because as a teenager they accidentally sang single-parent to suicide. So they might cast spells through music (is this possible?), but they never ever sing anymore because they are traumatized / convinced their singing voice kills people. (Even if it actually DOESN'T.)

It had me at twin peaks and Buffy. But I work all the time so not sure... @Tat How accessible do you see your game to casual players? (Like I work overtime a lot so scene maybe once or twice a week.)

@tat It's not bad! I was just a little surprised since it's the very first MU* website that has popped up saying "we want to send you notifications".

My RL group just bought "Nyctophobia", I shall report back when we play it. I'm not sure this is a game that could be adapted to TTS, because you have to play with blackout glasses on, and fumble around in the dark to move stuff.

So we stop spamming poor @moth 's playlist thread. XD

@Darinelle @Paris @Kanye-Qwest have all pretty thoroughly brought me onto #TeamPyr. With a lot of GOOD information about Great Pyreness in @moth's playlist thread.

@Rucket is now challenging with pictures of adorable corgi's though...

@egg said in What drew you to MU*?:

I loved the tabletop game I was in running Changeling: The Dreaming so much (this was 1997) that I thought, "Hey, I wonder if they make MUDs, but, like, for roleplaying? Then I could play Changeling whenever the hell I want, and I don't have to wait for my lazy friend to run his game." It turns out they DID make roleplaying MUDs! I liked RP MU*s so much, I wrote a college paper about them at a time when such things were pretty unusual.

I was playing on Vampire Wars off and on from the age of 13 to the age of 17, and had wandered off to RP chat rooms (chatalot dot com, yo), and peeked back in to VWs at like 17?? And friends there were like: Lavian! You like RP come play on this MUSH! It's vampire but with more roleplay.

      Okay.

      ...hey where are the mobs?

Wait, I'm not being murdered instantly just because someone finds me annoying?

Then I found other mushes. XD

Not really trying to encourage this particular apology or the trend of apology posts but... When you're vague like this unless people recognize your user name they probably have no idea who you're apologizing to...

@jaded said in Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.:

      @cobaltasaurus
Oh that would have probably been a pleasure comparatively. We had to count the store while it was open. Then reconcile vs the day's sales. THEN we had to count the store again. Reconcile. THEN verify the reconcile and reconcile again. And at that point so long as our on-hand value and what our inventory value according to corporate should be was less than 10k in difference, we could go home. Otherwise we had to start our counts all over again.

      It was a nightmare.

Yeah, uh... that's what we do. We have only an hour for "closing" procedures once the store is closed and then we're supposed to be out of the store. Which includes cleaning the store, restocking everything, doing inventory and prep for the next day. So inventory gets done while the store is open and we have to compare to what we "should" have vs what we think we have.
