I'm going to do a soft re-open of Euphoria, for now it will be for military PCs only. Civilians will be around but in the background. Events will happen either monthly or bi monthly depending, and in the mean time I'll be making sure the grid is fully set up.

Starting this Sunday 'm going to sit down and write up some "this is what happened" posts and wrap up previous plots. If you have things you would like for your pcs to have done either for returning players or if you just want closure for pcs if you're not returning to the game-- hit me up in game or here.

Hello friends! As someprobably a lot of you know (because I've whined about it in like every fucking thread, sorry) I contracted covid-19 over the holidays, then it gave me pneumonia, and now I've developed pleurisy because of it. It has been making it a little bit difficult for me to get back into work, I'm also having an insanely difficult time getting onto unemployment because of how the state I'm in is handling unemployment applications (you call after 5pm to try and get an appointment for the next day, but they only do 600 callbacks a day, and I've spent literally 30-minutes trying to get through with the phone failing to connect, telling me that they're experiencing too high call volume to call back later, and when I finally do connect all the appointments are taken. Every. Single. Time.)...

So, in general, I am having a very difficult time financially. So... I'm going to throw out a kinda tip-jar thing, and put my patreon out there for folks.

If you have a dollar ($1) that you can spare for a month for a few months, it would greatly help me out because it would show people that my writing is worth supporting cause I have patrons. If you don't, I 100% understand because times are really terrible right now. But if you could spare me a few minutes of your time to share my patreon around on twitter, facebook, and whatever social media you use? That would also help me out a great deal!

I have two one going stories that I aim to post mostly on.

One is about a young woman traveling across the country with a man posing as a cop kidnaps her and keeps her locked in the jail cell of a ghost town. You can read the first part of that story here. The first four parts of "Fever" are free to anyone to read. From the 5th part on it goes behind the $1 paywall.

The second story is about a woman exploring her old family home, looking for where her criminally insane father supposedly hid a bunch of a money, that she desperately needs. As she explores the house she finds that something is very, very wrong with it. You can read the first part of it here. This one is free for anyone to read, so even if you don't actively subscribe as a patron, you'd be able to follow this story to it's conclusion.

@Cobaltasaurus I don't have any links yet since I'm on mobile right now but try Google, search for something like "Alabama to Seattle roundtrip" and then look for leaving and returning dates in August and September. Looking in those two months I'm seeing prices in the upper 200s/lower 300s for a round-trip.

Yeah, aside from what Faraday said, I can only think of one other game: that Empire hero game. We seem to be in a dry spot but I've heard of some good games in the works so hopefully that will change soon. 🙂

I'm an EST night owl so I crash sometime around 11 or 12. I thiiiiink there's usually some signs of life still when I logout, but it's not as active as earlier in the evening.

I love the buffy universe on the games I played, and I thought the rulebook (actual paper copy or something) that I thumbed through was hilarious, campy, just fun and just right). I would play the hell out of a Buffy game!

But I fucking HATE the TV show. Battlestar just put me to sleep (another universe that I enjoy exploring through RP and /reading/ about on a wiki or whatever, but don't like the TV series, except for the Lorne Green stupid-ass crazy version of my childhood), but Buffy actually triggered dislike in me for some reason.

That's the thing I love about MUSHing. Come to think of it, I didn't enjoy Robert Jordan's books and I'm neutral on the old and next-oldest Star Wars shit (eps 1-6), but I LOVED those MUSHes, and I am like the only person I know who really enjoyed the WEG sourcebooks and rulebooks for Star Wars. I have super fond memories of TTing Star Wars. 🙂

Super fixated on "correctness" people will always find something to pick at. They'll fight about "correctness" even if you follow the rulebook (just ask anyone who's played a Fading Suns games about endless and tedious to all but themselves historical knowledge wang waving on chan with people arguing and criticizing one another about how they play their fictional "house" because their PhD in 6 million different kinds of RL ancient history tells them that's not how it would be at all!)

So I say, figure out the parameters of the lore/world that YOU as staff/gamerunners enjoy, make sure people know what they are and what will be within the "Scope of the game" (whether that's restrictions, alternative history, whatevs) and just let people who would whine self-select out and/or create their own place (and you stay away if what they create would make you whine!) or boot them if they're too disruptive!

This is actually the type of game I would most want open sheets on. If Staff is uninvolved, you have no way of knowing if the player of the character your character is trying to kill is lying about their stats. Unless the game has open sheets, then you know for sure.

There's always the option of coded combat, and the like. On Arx, I can't see the sheet of the guy I'm fighting, but the rolls are all going on under the hood so it matters less.
