@wizz Your argument makes sense, but the Marvel-verse (in all its many properties) paints the UN as a limp, bureaucratic nightmare that consistently trips over itself and makes things worse.

By the time they voted to send the Avengers into a situation there'd be monkeys flying out of asses already.

America used to be the land of individualism and freedom, sure, so Captain America is representative of that.

Current America, though... is all fear and control. Ever since 2001 we've been on a steady slide towards a xenophobic dystopia.

And don't even get into the whole 'registry' thing. Stark can take off his suit and walk around without anyone giving a damn, but you've got people with mutations/powers who would basically have to sign away their freedom if they agreed to it.

I dunno. I think the whole Civil War thing is great either way. But Stark is a giant flaming poopnozzle. (So is RDJ, but that's why they're a good fit.)

I have the opposite view to Wizz. I found Iron Man to be representative of the ultra-conservative 'control everyone's lives for profit!' while Iron Man struck me as the liberal 'freedom for the individual' type.

I know it's childish, but I always get a little giggly when I blow off a mech's main weapon. I hear Bruce Willis in my head, from Sin City.

I'm not that far into Battletech. I decided to start over.

I just got my first heavy from doing a story mission. Woo, Dragon.

Can I load it with nothing but flamethrowers and jump jets? Because dragons breathe fire and fly right?

I love mechanics that force me to play my character in very specific ways and refer to charts to determine my emotional state. Almost as much as I love arbitrary 'morality' based on what the writer thinks is good or evil.

My main complaint is that Modiphius is probably the worst name for a company ever.

As a non-lawyer I'm pretty sure that unless you signed an agreement under duress or false pretenses it's legally binding.

However if you're famous enough or rich enough you can ignore that sort of thing.

@insomnia It's possible. But I like the idea of randomly hard missions. Life is random, I shouldn't know just how risky every mission is when I accept it. Withdrawal should be a thing I have to use sometimes.

@jaded No not a story mission. I did the first story mission and no others yet. I am trying to get some parts and money and learn the loadouts better before i try to take it on.

Silly me for taking on a two-skullthing mission.

I am in the extreme early game. And I had a mission where I had to fight a 'wounded' Thunderbolt, Hunchback, and Wolverine.

Their wounds were 'minor armor damage'. Needless to say it was not a clean victory.

@insomnia That didn't used to be the case. They must have patched it. I'm still sore I beat the game and whenever I tried to continue it just rolled the credits.

You could throw in some hard winter aspects to the Fallout survivalness. That could give it a Frostpunky feel.

My opinion of Battletech:

Tread lightly if you aren't a MechWarrior/Battletech fan. As a relative newcomer, I have had some issues learning exactly what all the fiddly little numbers are and what they do.

However, the more I learn about it, the more I love the customization. It's really my own fault if I build a bad mech and I love the whole rolling for salvage thing. It really adds makes it feel like you're building a hodge podge little mercenary army.

I'd say buy it if you're willing to sink your teeth in and learn how things work. It's worth it.

I enjoy some of the Turkish stuff, but there's a lot of strong political undertones to Turkish shows, especially the newer ones. They're not as bad as Chinese shows yet but they're pretty blatantly propaganda.

I ordered a package. The delivery date was supposed to be today. I get a notice that the driver was unable to deliver my (or my roommate's) packages due to 'no answer/access to the location'. Despite having a gate code (to a gate that was open all day), phone numbers, emails, and multiple delivery options. (Front Door, apartment office, even an Amazon Hub!). I called customer support. They promised me they would solve the problem and the package would be re-routed and would for sure be at my apartment before 8pm.

At 9pm I contacted Amazon support. They contacted the carrier, and the 'driver forgot to swing back around and deliver the packages'. Whoopsie. We're sorry. Have a month of Prime membership on us.
