I just pre-ordered Battletech. My first introduction to giant mechs was playing Starsiege, which was kind of a ripoff of it.

A very, very fun ripoff. Who doesn't love fighting robots with names like 'Eats-Only-Heads'?

Getting a call from work about that raise I was expecting.

...and being told 'Oh, we're doubling the raise. We really appreciate your work.'

I was legitimately upset to hear about Barbara Bush dying. Despite being an ultra-liberal I had a lot of respect for her.

The stories I heard of how much she hated Nancy Reagan were probably the reason.

But haggling is fun. What I like to do is steadily raise my price the more they try to bargain with me. The frustration in people's eyes brings me joy.

I've been job hunting again. My company made it clear they don't intend to promote me, and though I like my job site a lot I can't justify staying here forever at my age. I got chewed out by an overprivileged employee of a well-known company currently facing a lot of shit in the media that shall remain nameless over me booting him out of the building's fitness center for working out after hours. He gave me. So much. Shit.

...and he's probably ten years younger than me. And making twice what I make. With half the brains. Frustrating.

@cobaltasaurus That's a red flag. Get a new job ASAP. Nobody overstaffs, ever. The whole 'do this or I cut hours/positions' thing is a sign they plan to do that anyways, and want to justify it so they don't look like the bad guy.

I had a shower thought about RP recently. I came to the realization in the shower that I just don't... enjoy RPing like I used to. When I play high-stakes games I don't feel the energy to get super involved, and when I play super chill games I feel like it's just too boring for me.

There is no middle ground. So my shower thought was.... keep trying games in a futile attempt to relive my glory days of actually enjoying MU*s like a dumbass and learn nothing whatsoever from this epiphany.

I'm an equally an asshole online as offline.

I just express it in different ways.

He'll go wherever he can get the most pay, then convince some other stars to take pay cuts to play with him and chase a ring.

And then he'll fail just short of the finish line and blame everyone else.

I got haircuts from her monthly. I live five hours away, so I would drive down to visit the family. And my first main stop would be to get my hair cut. I was always exhausted, but I made do.

So, every single time I would drive down she would bump my appointments back. I would wait 30+ minutes for my haircut. She figured that since I was family, I wouldn't mind waiting and she could make more money by squeezing people in. Keep in mind, here, that I was paying 30 dollars per haircut (higher than her usual rate) -and- taking the entire family out to dinner afterwards.

So, after being pushed back four-five times in a row, I show up for my haircut. She pushes me back -again-. But this time... it's for a color and cut job. And as anyone who has had their hair colored knows... this can be time consuming. She wanted me to wait until she was done, not even wanting to cut my hair in the downtime of the color job. Because she knew if she could make me wait I'd take everyone out to dinner. She even had the nerve to say 'Hey go get me a drink from Sonic'. I was exhausted. I had just driven for hours and hours. It's tiring.

...so I told her I wouldn't be using her services anymore. I left a bad review on Facebook then I drove straight back home. Another five hour trip. I was so tired and upset I nearly got myself killed on the drive multiple times from shaky nerves/exhaustion. But, since they previously had nothing but five-star reviews they bought from people, so my review took them from 5.0 to 4.9. My family cut me off for months. It took about 4 months for my mother/stepfather to talk to me again. And I still haven't talked to my sister.

All over a haircut.

I haven't talked to my sister in almost a year because of an incident involving a haircut appointment.

I don't miss her.

I just discovered TierZoo on Youtube.

It's a guy basically explaining 'life' as a MMO, discussing various animal types as 'builds' and the like. Pretty cool if you're a game-nerd.

I beat it in 24 while doing a good chunk of the side missions. I could have done it in under 10 by sticking to main missions only. Perhaps... 5 if I push hard. That is just an estimate though.
