I beat Far Cry 5. The ending is controversial. The majority of people seem to hate it. I am ambivalent about it. I just wish the game itself had more player agency. I wish my decisions mattered more. I also wish the game was a little harder. It felt like it was holding my hand the whole way. The constant checkpoints you can revert to if you die is a little disappointing. Also...

DO EVERYTHING YOU WANT TO DO BEFORE YOU DO THE FINAL MISSION. It will not let you go back and do stuff. I usually like to clean up everything after the final mission. Post-game stuff. Completionism. I got 100 percent on every other Far Cry game. This one, I will be starting a new game and trying it again. Damnit.

I'd play at a Matrix MUSH, probably.

Playing at nWoD Demon feels like playing a cheap knockoff of another IP though, so not for me either.

OH the NPC companions. I don't know. I use doggo and plane guy the most. Headshots are stupidly, stupidly easy to get so I tend to not bother with companions that use guns. They're inefficient. (Is there some kind of aim assist on PC? I swear, headshots everywhere.)

@Jaded I don't know! I have no friends, and nobody to play companion with. More options is more better, though.

So, Far Cry 5.

It's really solid so far, and I haven't even touched multiplayer yet. All the right-wing criticism of the game was unwarranted, as the game has some disturbing 'The gun hoarders and conspiracy nuts are the best hope for America' vibes.

Despite the main bad guy literally being 'David Koresh with Jim Jones glasses' I can say, as someone who grew up in an extremely religious household, that the game is not anti-Christian as the Evangelicals were worried. They take special pains to ensure that you are aware that the cultists are at odds with the local religious types. (I was a little weirded out to see the local pastor wearing a priest's collar, though.)

I'd say the game is worth buying if you love FPS games. It's better than Far Cry 3 and 4, if only because I actually get to shoot at people who aren't 'native savages'. I feel much less like a racist piece of shit for enjoying it than I did the previous ones.

I came to my boss with a scheduling problem for our site. The entire area would be cordoned off by police for two hours on either side of shift change. I gave him this information along with three proposed schedules to choose from. I gave him this information five days in advance. I asked him to call me the next day with his decision.

I call him the next day. No answer.

I call him the next next day. No answer.

I get to work the day before the cordoning. No word from him. I am told third-hand that 'Oh you have to just show up 3-4 hours early and wait, off the clock'. Not directly from the supervisors.

I spend today calling and calling various bosses and bosses' bosses and nobody picks up the fucking phone.

...I might just miss tomorrow. Fuck it.

I found Season 2 of Jessica Jones to be weaker than Season 1. Aside from Hogarth's story arc. That was a really, really strong arc.

I bowed out of my character on there. It wasn't the right fit for me. But I wish the game good luck.

Vermintide 2 is out in beta on Steam for the PC.

I am enjoying it thus far. Left 4 Dead but slaying ratmen and dudes in loincloths with medieval/steampunk weapons.

Quite enjoyable indeed.

Hap and Leonard season 2 is on Netflix. Great show.

I would argue TR and Fallcoast succeeded due to timing. If someone else were to spit out a generic multisphere game soon and open it prior to the reboot it would probably absorb most of the playerbase of Fallcoast aside from the hardliners.

The last I heard, they were moving the game to Miami and keeping it 1e. I don't think it will last long.

DoW 3 is more akin to a MOBA than the other games. They removed cover and most of the customization options.

It's all about spamming units, getting heroes, then winning. Nothing else. No strategy.

I hate gifs. How do you disable them from being seen? I could have sworn there was a way. x.x

Those prices are super low. I'd give you 100 bucks to set up a game for it.
