To me, 'best game' used to mean the game I would spend the most hours playing/thinking about.
But then I played almost 4000 hours of a game that made me miserable.
I don't know what to believe anymore.

Using roads, police, and firefighting services is theft. Only people who can afford private police, firefighting, and roads should be allowed to use them.

That is an interesting theme to play with and could serve to give characters extra depth to play with. As for systems related to them... I would say the less crunchy the better.
Humanity systems! Please no. But a system wherein their natural inclination towards extroversion/introversion (via rage/sadness or whatnot) affects the character would be rather cool.
That's an interesting idea. I don't know if I would play one, but the concept is very solid.
Here are a short list of 'odd' games I've bought recently on steam and have also been satisfied with my purchase.
In no particular order:
Slay the Spire (EA) - My most recent purchase. It's a deck-building single player roguelite. After the first playthrough or two you can really understand what's going on and it becomes much more skill based which I like.
Feed and Grow: Fish (EA) - You swim around. You eat things and other fish. You sometimes make babies and grow bigger and eat more other fish. It's very casual and relaxing.
They Are Billions (EA) - Very frustrating town-building/zombie-defense rts. It has a super steep learning curve, though.
Space Tyrant - Space empire builder-lite. You go into missions and have small space battles. It is not a serious game at all and seems somewhat humor-based but the game mechanics are very solid and enjoyable.
Northgard - Small-scale viking RTS. I have only played against the AI but it's still fun enough. Lots of variety and playstyles and alternate victory conditions but a bit micro intensive.
...I have a metric ton of games in my Steam library. If anyone peruses the list and wants to know if X game is any good I'd be glad to give my review of it.
Sense8 was just bad. Rather than try to create something great they just ticked off the SJW checkboxes and forgot to develop the show.
I... alright? Sorry. My post came across in a way other than I intended it.
@thenomain Someone's feeling catty today. I made a positive comment about a game and you get all pissy.
I was stating it was off to a slow start as a possible commentary on the desire of players for a single sphere game without any criticism whatsoever of the product.
Be more positive.
The Darkwater reboot has gotten off to a slow start, unfortunately.
I was pretty hyped to see it come back. Still, it's been fun.
I still like my solution to the single sphere problem. Multiple single sphere games run on the same MUX. You could play a vampire or a werewolf or a dingobaby or whatever without running into a blort or a mage or a libertarian ruining your plots. Bonus points in that you could build just one grid and make copies for each game. Or just set different reality layers and have everyone using the same grid at the same time.
I would prefer something more... reasonable.
Acts that stabilize your life increase clarity. Acts that destabilize it lower clarity.
Win the lottery? Lose your job? Clarity loss. Getting married? Getting commended for ten years on the job? Gain clarity.
Changeling 2E is not an update to Changeling 1E. It's a rewrite with different theme, setting, and methodology. It is a giant change, unlike Vampire and Werewolf 2E.
You mean Clarity will be a one-way street where only those who act a certain way are sane and everyone else goes crazy?
Seems like a bit of a fascist world view.
So the new Clarity is... 'How triggered are you'.

The prettiest are always in charge. It's going to be the new status mechanic in Changeling where your position in society is based on how many beauty points you bought. It will be using a hybrid FATAL system.
Can you give some details about how they're going back to oWoD Changeling? What they're bringing back?
I've got no interest in playing a game that has Mage on it, but I'm probably in the minority. Ultimately the person who runs a game decides what will and won't be played there.
As someone who hates Werewolf 1e I can attest that Werewolf 2e is great.
