I've always been of the 'LolCerseiWins!' mindset. Because lolCerseiwins! is something the author of the books really seems to want. Because... that's just the kind of guy he is.

RE: Good TV
I want a show focused exclusively on Lockjaw being Lockjaw and doing Lockjaw things.
It could be like 24; just have a 24 episode season of 1 hour shows, each detailing an hour of his life.
Yes, I would watch him sleep for an hour.

RE: General Video Game Thread
As far as I know, yes. I looked it up and it said it was 'going to launch in 2016 for consoles and PC', but like... it's 2017, and it's EA on PC? I have no clue.
Also I just tried a melee character. Also quite satisfying.

RE: General Video Game Thread
New property. I've been playing it for a few hours now. It's... not as run and gun as Diablo 3. There's tactics and positioning, somewhat, like suppression and cover and all that. It's a single unit game, has multiplayer and the like. I can see where it would be fun to have a squad of players.
There's a bit of grind to it, as in you won't get fat loot right off the bat. And growth is slow. But I'm enjoying it so far.
Also since it's EA, the Psyker class isn't opened up yet, but you can still be one of the other two classes, each which has three subclasses. So it's pretty meaty for an EA game. I've yet to try melee, but it's satisfying using an autogun or a shotgun. There's a good feel when you gib the enemies, which is important. The graphics and sound are spot on as well.

I‘m Ass Lobster!
When the going gets tough, you have a team of naked men haul you up and get going! You're a juggernaut, Ass Lobster, and you take the world on asscheeks akimbo! There is no obstacle you won't batter down with butts crammed into your unthinkable briny insides!
Whether you're going for the big promotion or trying to help Birdie and Cub buttdoze their way back to the Enchanted Meadow, you are a tireless and fearsome force. Also, your stench is just unimaginable. It is literally the smell of mashed assholes, sweaty swampass and hollowed-out crustacean. Your resolve may be legend, but the odor uncoiling from your many buttcracks is an affront to God Himself.

RE: Auspice Needs To Move!
@Misadventure http://www.stilesswitchbbq.com/ is the place. It was quite good. My favorite is another place, though.

Auspice survived the trip. Barbecue was had. That is all.

RE: Good TV
The closest you'll get to Romance of the Three Kingdoms is King's War and Qin Empire: Alliance, at least over here. @WTFE can probably watch the Three Kingdoms TV series, the lucky bastard.
I've watched all of King's War and most of Qin Empire. The former is much better. Liu Bang is awesome. Xiang Yu is also awesome.

Abilene to Austin should be a short jaunt, at the very least.

RE: Auspice Needs To Move!
I love moving. Everything about it. Packing, unpacking, traveling, seeing new things. Being a different person than I was in the last town.
As for college labor, I'm old and grumpy but I'll gladly help unload a moving truck and buy a bowl of ramen for a new arrival.

RE: Good TV
Probably not up your alley, but King's War on Netflix was pretty fantastic to me.

RE: But Wait, There's More!
Darn, and here I was wanting the responsibility and power of the board so I could...
...well shit. How does one abuse their power on a small, niche internet bbs again?

RE: Indicating Discomfort in a Scene (online)
Ultimately, how you handle banning doesn't do anything regarding -the issue that is making someone uncomfortable in the first place-.
The punishment phase is when someone has already crossed the line. When it has been elevated to staff because it won't stop without intervention.
If you can't foster an environment online where people are able to hold civil discourse and feel comfortable saying 'Excuse me, would you mind not doing that? It bothers me.' to each other then you are already failing your playerbase.
That being said, there should be a clear line of what constitutes allowable interactions between players. Do you allow PvP at all? Then you need to make allowances for people getting butthurt over their PC being attacked. If you do not, then you simply say 'No attacking other players without their consent first'.
Do you allow sexual content? Have clear outlines of what is allowed in terms of consensual/otherwise. Have a flashing red sign that says 'NO RAPE. NO PEDOPHILIA.' if that is your intent. Leave no wiggle room on the subject.
The purpose of rules is to define the parameters we interact in, and to me, the best rules are those that allow for a clear, concise, and recognizeable dialogue between players should any issues arise with the rules only there to ensure that if someone does go over the line, and staff can find no way to make the person step down only then does the punishment phase begin.

Your response was dismissive and rather passive aggressive. That being said, cheerio.

@Thenomain I've been in situations where you are forced to use that sort of system. You compare it to raising a hand in class, but that is to avoid a large group of people all shouting 'LEMME GO PEE!'
In small social environments such as a tabletop, if you aren't comfortable enough speaking up to say 'Hey, this is bothering me' then the group hasn't done a very good job of making you feel welcome/safe enough to speak up. That's a failure of the dynamic, and implementing a system to get around it is not addressing the core problem that you don't feel comfortable enough to speak up.
I understand where you are coming from, though. I just disagree with the methodology.
